Offline Matchmaking / Re: San Diego CA

Props to all who came this past Friday. Glad to get some VF in even though it wasn't too long. Also glad to get some SG and MoTW in as well.

As stated on Friday, I wouldn't mind showing up at saltmines an doing sessions there if allowed. I'm not sure what their plans are as of yet, but we should be able to hold something. I wanna showcase several games in conjunction with KoF. Right now, my sights are for MoTW, KoF XIII and 02UM and of course VF5FS. SG needs some love too. I'm still down for helping cats learn whatever game as well.

If we can't have sessions there, Casa no Jinx will be open.

Lets try to get in touch with the owner and post up our findings.

Rhythmaxed, I've got some Brad stuff to show you next time.

Oh yeah, is KoF even considered "anime"??? The info on the SRK thread says Air Dasher/Anime fighters welcomed. Iunno at this point if KoF falls in that category per sé.

Real talk, this game is dope, but very hard to get/purchase... Most sites I've seen don't even sell it anymore...

General Discussion / Re: Tier lists and Character Discussion Thread
« on: January 29, 2013, 05:35:55 PM »
Hey guys, once in a while I like to post my own personal tier lists just for fun. Seeing as how the new EVO season is about to start, I figured that I should post an updated list hahaha. This is just my opinion, nothing more:

AAA+++: Mr. Karate, Hwa Jai
A+: Both Ioris, Both Kyos, Benimaru, Yuri, Takuma, Kim
A: Shen Woo, Vice, Saiki, King, Duolon, Chin,
A-: Andy, Kensou, Kula,Mature, Ralf, Clark, Liz, Ryo, K',  Raiden, Daimon, Robert
B+:Joe, Leona, Billy, Terry, Ash, Athena, Maxima, Mai

I'm not disagreeing with you in Billy's tier placement totally, seeing as I feel his "newness" bumped him up in tiers initially (i think he's A-). My main inquiry is regarding Kensou's vs Athena's placement. Athena clearly beats him out in almost every aspect. Her corner throw combos are stronger, her fireball game and anti-fireball game is mad stronger. Athena can beat Kensou out in pokes as well. Maybe I'm not seeing something Kensou has that makes him better, so please shed some light on your placement.

Hey Im Mark aka Sir_Loin I play KOF on occasions and wouldnt mind some casuals. I also have a few friends that would be willing to play aswell.

Welcome Sir_Loin!!! You're in luck if you're down for KOF matches!!! There's both Oceanside Fight Club (OFC), and San Diego Fight Club (SFC), and I usually host sessions at my garage on Fridays whenever I can. If you play other SNK fighters, I can accommodate that as well-- Garou MOTW is getting some play quite a bit at my place, and I have older KOF games (98UM, 02UM, KOFNW)... I might host this Friday, so if you're free, come on through...

GGs to all who came through last Friday, especially in MOTW!!! I know I gotta step up in P4U, but that will come eventually... I think I worried too much about combo execution in that game than any other... Oh well...

@jjsmack - Yo that Kevin game stepped up like crazy!!! I gotta show you something rq:

Raging Storm 2009 Phoenix Garou MOTW Grand Finals: Nocturnal vs. Giby

The rest is on YT still...

I gotta get some P4U matches in with ya, too!!!

@Wallice - Thanks for making that trip down to Casa no Jinx!!! Great matches, especially in MB... Oh yeah, C-Kouma's rekkas can end with an air grab, and allow you to extend your combos... I was messing with him in training mode, and came across that... What's your most damaging combo with him???

Those who didn't make it, no sweat... Next Friday might go down, I'll let you cats know wassup...

If i bring my PS2 will you guys play some CvS2?

Yeah I will... I got a spare TV... Got any spare ps2 sticks??? The one I have is pretty lame imo...

Right now I got P4U and KOFNW running, but am willing to switch out whatever...

I'm willing to teach some JJBA, VF, or whatever to anybody... Just lemme know...

We can do that pitch in joint for food if you want...

You cats drive safe out there!!!

Mr. Bakaboy has mentioned he got an update on for 02UM. Did anyone else get a notice about it on Live? If so, have you noticed any differences in anything?

I got an update, but haven't been able to fight anyone online... I'm not sure if it's a netcode patch though-- I doubt it honestly...

Hopefully, this can help those who are interested in the game, but are either worried about where to start learning, or are learning the game, and are at a plateau in one's progress... Check it out!!!

【CASAのジンクス】("Casa no JINX") is going down this Friday. KOFXIII and P4U, with MOW, SF, or other games on request. Feel free to bring a setup and/or sticks.

New people interested in KOF or any other game??? Bring them, too!!!

Any issues, lemme know.

This weekend's gonna be mad busy, but I will try to hit up OFC for something...

Yo jjsmack, I'm thinking about getting on 3S again (yeah I know)...

Real quick, it was good getting those matches in at Saltmines... I straight up leveled up quite a bit!!!

Depending on how my Network Security class goes will determine when during the week I'll host... I can keep it on Friday or take it back to either Wednesday or Thursday... I don't really care when I host, it's kinda to cater to you guys honestly... Lemme know wassup...

One final thought for the evening: "Certainly, they existed..."

That is All!!!

Jinxhand honestly Rock in MOTW is easier to use then NGBC. There isn't as much of delays between moves like Rock has in NGBC for me it's the difference between preforming combos in old school KOF vs XIII. In XIII there's an easier flow to it. Sorry just played NGBC seriously yesterday and finally decided to feel the difference.

Yeah I noticed the delay in NGBC, and when I combo with him in MOW, it's way easier. Plus his 360 seems to be more lenient in terms of input when playing the MOW Rock...

I'm starting to get out of my comfort zone and start learning other characters besides Gato, Grant, and Marco... I will say Freeman is so much fun to play with... I do see some weaknesses, well at least in his movelist, which I feel makes him a high risk/high reward character, because you have to rely on more guessing than other characters like Marco... Freeman has good moves, but most aren't that great from what I'm seeing so far, unless again your yomi is on point, but those are just my thoughts based on who I fight out where I'm at... I love his rekkas though, but then I play rekka characters to begin with lol (Mature, Kensou, Fei Long, Genjuro, technically Gato)...
