I almost forgot, this might help some learning MBAACC:

http://wiki.mizuumi.net/w/Melty_Blood/Moons

There's more on the wiki of course, but since you guys seem to have a general understanding of the basics I figured this might help you make a better moon selection based on pros/cons & your character playstyle.

Also, amongst the TF hype, this video wasn't finished being watched (lol):

Session was mad fun!!! Seems like Tournament Fighters is the game everyone was on. I might have to get my pc setup for the game so we can use sticks next time.

I started to remember a few Armaggon tricks, so next time it's definitely on!!! I am finally glad to see Chrome Dome being used properly though...

I'm also glad to see Melty Blood get some play... Now I have a reason to practice that...

Didn't get a chance to test that King out yet... I'm starting to realize I might not need her though... We'll see...

Peace!!!

oh yeah, enjoy:

I managed to get one guy interested off facebook and I gave him the address.

ALso, how much do you want for the pizza? I'll be glad to pitch some moneys to help out,

Whatever you want is cool... I'm getting some pizza around 5-6ish so that there's at least something here for cats to grub on...

Seems like we're getting good numbers for both VF and KOF... Again, if you wanna hit up other games, by all means bring it, and we can get down on some matches...

Word up!!!

For real though, I wanna get down on some old school KOF...

Oh yeah, I guess I can throw some "Capcomians" a bone and have a 3S setup, maybe SF4 (ugh) if there's room for a setup... I won't have to worry about a VF setup since there's someone bringing one...

I will record since I finally got the crap to work...

MoTW anyone???

UPDATE: The session is still going down. I currently have 3 people for VF, so that ultimately makes at least 4 (maybe 5) people. Let's get those KOF numbers up too, or any other game for that matter. I'm still down for teaching cats VF if interested.

If you're down for pitching in for pizza, lemme know. Other than that, there's a Jack n' the box, and a few other places you cats can hit up if you want grub. There's also McGonagle's, but that's near Cosmic Odyssey.

I don't know (or have seen) too many people to play with Chin, especially in 2002 or 2002UM. I do like that the ones who do play are really solid and tricky...

XIII's Chin is quite different, but it works for the game system.

Have you tried searching for KOF2002 Chin videos on Nico Nico???

I made it a policy to not vote for MK characters lol

Only once did I pick a non-SNK character over an SNK character (Geese vs. Nightmare).

I'd still give Geese some kind of chance against Nightmare, but I can understand why it would go the other way.

Geese has counters, and can go into Raging Storm off of his mid counter... gg Nightmare lol. But seriously, they picked the Nightmare Geese character from KOFMI2 and called him Geese... Some people caught that "Iori from Fatal Fury" bit, too...

I don't know why some characters are there if it's a popularity contest. I'm talking about some VF (Wolf), Darkstalkers (Bulleta), that DoA guy.
I like most of those characters, but you have to admit there are tons of other more popular people around.

All of those characters you mentioned are indeed popular. They might not be as popular in the US per sé, but they do have some reasons behind it. Lemme break it down real quick:

Wolf - Wolf has been practically popular since VF1, moreso in VF2 because he had a meta game involving his Giant Swing, where he'd dodged your moves by crouch dashing and blocking, and he would use the fast input version of the Giant Swing, which was a harder throw to break. He was ridiculously popular in Japan from VF1 all the way to VF4:Final Tuned. Wolf still does have popularity, but it's not to the point of every VF player picking him like it was before. Here's some classic footage of a popular Wolf player with some mention of that meta game I was talking about:

http://youtu.be/CDDPAxyErL0

Bulleta (BB Hood) - She was popular because she has an infinite or two in VSav1. Granted, it's a rather hard infinite to do, but when you have ample time to practice it, and stiff competition forcing you to step your game up, you're bound to get it quickly. Eventually, a bunch of people started picking her in tournaments and such. Bulleta also makes a good mid tier character in MvC2. I personally used her as point with Juggernaut (with the power up glitch of course) and Doom as assists simply with the goal of doing chip damage and doing max damage without needing a 50+ hit loop... She's worth the pick though...

Ninjas of DOA - If you haven't played DOA with strong DOA players that use ninjas, you won't understand how strong they really are. Ninjas of DOA are the de facto of the game tbh. Sure, they can be beaten, but if you're fighting a really strong player, you have to step your yomi up seriously. Most of the ninjas have counters that lead into some serious damage. Compare that to Jann Lee's counter, which only opens up for mixup options. He doesn't get a combo opportunity, no high damage throw, no nothing. It's a measly kick that does nothing great imo. But enough about my ranting, these ninjas are indeed popular, with Jann Lee, Tina and Bass following right behind them.

Honestly, I wish they had more characters, as Jacky's not in there, nor is Kyo, King (Tekken), Bryan Fury, Steve Fox, Kung Lao, Maxi, or Voldo even... Jun would even be a good pick, since everyone who's ever played Tekken 2 wanted her to return (almost to the point of petitioning I believe)...

negative penalties

Honestly, I think negative penalty is one of the worst ideas in a fighting game ever.

I didn't like it at first, but then I realized GG is a more aggressive game and it rewards you for it. Sure, the defensive aspect is there, but you tend to lose something out of it (i.e. - burst, guard meter, health, etc)... Plus negative penalty keeps you from playing cheesy... There's workarounds for it, but the only person that truly benefits from that is Axl and only when he fights Potemkin (well it was like that in GGXX/)...

Pai has a ton of safe pokes like 2P+K, and even from her bokutai stance, she can do P or PP and still be relatively safe. Some of her options dwindle depending on what move she uses, but at the very least she can fuzzy guard. I have to pay attention and not try to attack out of disadvantage... Sometimes throwing Jeffry's 6K works, but its still a huge risk... I'm actually trying to learn Pai, so if you have any questions or whatever, hit me up... There's always VFDC also...

"Casa no Jinx: Round 3" goes down on the 30th (730pm-whenever)... I'll put King on my team and see how she fairs out... Been actually practicing with her... Anyway, copy/paste effort below...

----------------------------------------------------------------

Copied from VFDC:

Despite me not being able to hit up WNF til the week of the 2nd, I do plan on hosting at my place (Casa no Jinx) this Friday, the 30th, from 730pm til whenever you cats decide to roll out...

Last time I hosted, I had a good number of people, though most were there for KOF, we did do other fighters (TTT2, AH3, SFEX2+, etc), and VF was no exception.

As always, if you have a setup, feel free to haul it, but you're not obligated to do so. I welcome everyone, so please bring a friend or 2, even if they don't play VF. Chances are I have the game they play, and if not, they're welcome to bring either the game, and/or a setup for it. At one point in the evening I busted out my SNES for TMNT:TF. Yeah I have love for all fighters, or at the very least respect...

I have 1 x360 and 1 ps3 setup, with a spare tv for whatever. If you have a ps3 stick or a ps2 stick with a converter, bring that with you, because sadly I only have 1 ps3 stick, and I haven't had time to "fix" my hrap2.

Seriously though, if you have friends who play other fighters, bring them, too.. I don't wanna leave other scenes out just because they don't play VF... With Frubble down, and Cosmic Odyssey being "sometimey" I don't want our options to diminish. I'll help scenes out when I can despite my hectic schedule, and the time is now...

If you need my addy and/or my number, feel free to pm me, or if you're on twitter, hit me up with a dm (@jinxhand). Lastly, spread the word!!! Thanks.

Awesome!!! You know, every Chin player I've fought has never done this at all... Is this some new tech, or old tech revisited??? Either way, it's a great find!!!
