General Discussion / Re: Tier lists and Character Discussion Thread
« on: July 31, 2013, 02:06:09 AM »
Hey!
I will start travel pretty soon and i need to optimize my team. Can you guys help me please?
I use Raiden as point and Takuma as second character and ... I have no idea what character should i use as third ... i was played EX Iori and point and Raiden as anchor but i feel it`s not really good idea cuz Raiden can kill with 3 bars easy and have some bad matchups :\
Can you recomend me some chars? I was tryed to play Shen and Benimaru but i stop cuz Shen is dumb as fk and Beni is so hard for me :\ Im practice with Kim right now but may be you can recomend some options?
Raiden and Takuma dont need rly a lot of mether you know.
Sorry if i chose a wrong thread :o

I don't think this is quite the right thread for this my friend.

Why are we adding jump moves on block strings listing that seems pointless seeing as they do grant the most frame advantage out of any move in the game and as long as you touch them low enough you can pretty much do whatever you please. Taco has ungodly amounts of block and hit stun its not needed to add the jump moves to the block strings section

Something I think is pretty important to note is that Terry has a multitude of normals when he has the ability to delay canceling (on block or hit) which gives him a mind game within his blockstring. He could trick people into pressing a button prematurely and then punishing them with special, super or chain int another normal. He can also cancel and hit someone with a crackshoot or rising tackle trying to jump out of his pressure.

The normals are cl.st.C, fr. st C, Cr.c, Cl st D

Also maybe we should note his st a generally whiffs on crouchers unless used in combos or opponent character has a large body (goro, maxima) and should generally avoid being used unless anti airing or fighting a large size character. St b starts up 2 frame, but has similar frame advantage, more range, and is more reliable for ground vs ground use.

I've actually been doing d.B, st.B, df+C as a block string/hit confirm. Since it's a tight link, it's not easy, but it does more damage and much easier to hit confirm off of than st.B into EX burn knuckle.

St b> ex knuckle is pretty easy to confirm lol.

Your link isn't all that difficult because its the exact same timing as a st b> cl st c butttt it's a lot riskier and easier to punish because as previously stated you have to cancel it or get punished

One thing I do that I don't see many people doing is delaying the cancel timing in his normals. Terry has 3 normals he can preform this with and they can put this property to great use.  It can make people think Terry is open to a punish and can eat a special or a super. This this technique has actually helped me win a tourney or two. Ill make a tech video going more in depth with the consept

If an opponent ducks, yes.

If the opponent does not duck, you can be normal thrown. Other than that, it's safe.

Well you can't be normal thrown because you can always tech it also you can space it to where the tip of the crackshoot hits and you're still safe.

Yeah I can land it consistently. But If you do the combo properly trinity geyser hits 5 times which is why the combo damage is so high.

I'm having trouble in match-ups where my st.A / df.C gets stuffed a lot. Things like Clark hop and jump j.B / j.CD seems to always get me.

I'm not fully aware of all moves where df.C is not a good anti-air on jumps. Another one that gets me off the top of my head, while Terry is cornered, I can't seem to df.C Chin when he does full jumps on me.

I think that Df+c is always a valid AA it's about timing and spacing though.
It's 4 frames sometime it may trade but remember it gets a soft KD so that's fine

What would you all say if I told you that I found a Terry bogard HD combo mid screen that does 863 or 935 for 3 bars and 915 or 987 for 4?

St.c(1 hit)> Df+c xx hd cancel xx St.d> f+a> C Rising Tackle > C Burn Knuckle > C Rising Tackle> C Burn Knuckle> B Crackshoot> Level 1 Busta Wolf> trinity Geyster> A burn knuckle> b crackshoot> C rising tackle (sub this out for Ex Rising tackle for 915

Notation version

St.c(1 hit)> df+C xx hd cancel xx St.D> f+A> d~u+C> qcb+C> D~u+C> qcb+C> qcb+B> qcf 2x+ B or D> qcf2x+ AC> qcb+A> qcb+B> d~u+C

There reason there are 2 sets of damage calcs are If you hit the busta wolf at the proper height after the Crackshoot then max cancel it properly You can get a  5th hit on trinity geyser with will increase the damage immensely! So, play around with the combo and find the proper height!
