You have to do it in advance still, but it seems like his guard point has a bit more frames so it'll happen more often. I remember one match I kept doing dash s.D and it worked like a charm because people weren't used to fighting against it.

How is the timing on his Guard Points?

Do you attack in advance and have them hit during a specific frame or is it instant and you can do it right before getting hit (ala parry and JD)?

Think these are new:

Contains the best Yuri so far I think. He also used the shortcut to get into HD mode with her (using her dp).

Finally some great use of the demon flip as well, looks like its a great drive cancel tool for her. A neat looking combo he did was normals into dp into demon flip punch into dp into demon flip throw. This game's combo system is just such a pleasure to watch.

Is the air Hyper Drive info completely new? I don't think I've heard anyone mention it or use it. Wonder if ppl will even bother using it since you have to make the very first hit count, no easy hit confirms.

@diable: sounds very similar but not sure if it's exactly the same, I didn't use kensou in 2k2. I would strongly recommend this method to start an HD combo.  

Whoops, sorry, forgot to mention that it was Kyo with whom I did that combo in 2k2.

The disadvantage in 2k2 was that you needed two meters to enter BC mode like that, instead of one.

Quick question: Is jump CD in 13? I never liked jump CD in the other games because of it's spamability so I hope it isn't in this one.

Yeah. it could could get annoying against characters like Chris. They seem to be better in this one though, don't remember seeing a match yet with heavy CD abuse.

I can now confirm that with Kensou is possible to do d.B,d.B,qcf+BC and you will get his first rekka in HD MODE. I think this is great since landing a d.B is a lot easier than a s.C or s.D plus it's a lot easier to hit confirm.

So like 2k2 then, I used to do... cr.B, cr. A, df+D, qcf+BC... and continued on in BC mode past that.

Is there any good direct feed on boss battle video?

Thanks for the vids man, as usual.

Quite a few of the matches are reposts but there is still good stuff to be found. Nice variety of characters. Haven't seen them all yet but...

I've said before and I'll say it again, damn is Kensou EX dash kick fast. Should be great for surprise and corner escapes. In another vid I saw someone do it immediately after a fireball and he actually caught up to his own fireball across the screen (and went straight through his opponent who was right next to him, cornering him). Maybe combo or setup potential there? Kensou is definitely one of the characters I am looking forward to trying the most, looks so sleek and his rekkas remind me of Yang from 3S (though much cooler looking of course).

Looks like Iori's overhead is like Marco's from Garou, meaning you can combo after it. In one match he did overhead, cr.B, cr.A, special in the corner and it comboed for 4 hits.

A really good Duolon can be seen as well. Still no use of his EX normals in sight.

I'll try to get some Ash play more and possibly record some AI matches. Currently the competition there is pretty high, so it's hard to start using characters that aren't your main =(

Indeed his weakness is his general mobility and range-- Chin's one of my main characters as you can probably guess :)

Heard he sucked in 2k2 but I still used him a lot and he got me tons of wins so I'm definitely looking forward to his new self (haven't played 12). So yeah, I too am taking notes from your and other ppl's play.

Still no decent Ash play in sight, they play like his new dash attack move and stationary flames don't exist.

Finally some more Ryo play, his NM is so friggin sweet. Still, the best Ryo thus far is the one from the SNK match vids, he had his drive cancel and ex combos down really well.

Didn't know about the damage increase for Chin, that's a nice balance then since on the positive side you get power meter and power up but on the negative eat more damage. Sucks that it carries over to the next round though, so forget what I said about chugging it throughout rounds.

From the looks of it Chin's weakness will be distance. The only long distance move of his I remember seeing is his roll forward on the ground into hit thing, which seems to be unsafe on block and succeptable to cr.B.

What I can tell you is that at the moment I use a full HD combo in about 75% of my games

So what was that bs about it not being practical and going for drive cancel instea... wait, forget it, I don't even want to know.

at that point. Someone should figure out a way to have some sort of info/vid collaboration between China and US if they're liking the stuff out of Arcade Infinity with u guys (here's to hoping a scene pops up at Arcade UFO as well) and slowly build up from there.

Things will start actually progressing and stuff like you mention happening after the console release, I think. Kinda moot at this point since so few ppl have access.

Cross country rivalry and collaboration would be very cool.

He let him drink 5 times, that's 1.33 damage increase (although the wiki says 1.5 increase), it was Iori's fault.  I was taking notes on some of his setups and his block strings, nice.

Its fast and Chin's style of gameplay seems to score a lot of knockdowns so it shouldn't be too hard having a few drinks here and there on a regular basis imo. Should piss off your opponent too.

You know, heh, since you are so against HD and everything, you should have no trouble swearing it off, right? Like, right here and right now, swear that you will never use it in a match since, afterall, according to you, its such a huge waste. Do it.

I mean clearly, an extra 20% of damage is way more important than being able to destroy your opponent. And, of course, there is no chance of your HD bar being full before you are able to land that 20%.

Hmm... whom would I hold back against more and think twice before doing something, someone who can spank me or kill me?

Would you fear Daigo more if he could drive cancel or hyper drive?

Would you fear Daigo more if he could dp or FADC dp into Ultra?

Wow, at around 14:40, Fully drunken Chin completly MAULS Iori. That's like, what, 70% life combo off EX Counter? SO dangerous!
Rather enjoyed that vid; it's nice to see people who don't look completly robotic in the way they fight...

Holy snap, that was crazy. Heh guess that right there is Chin's shinanigan, that was a simple but hard hitting 90% combo.

Watching those matches was like slow mo compared to the 17 vids posted earlier.
