For now I use the pad.I will invest in buying a stick soon(have my eyes set on a Qanba Q4). I find that I have to alternate between the d-pad and the analog stick in order to perform certain movements.

Some of those match-ups were hard to decide

I'm 27, started my career with Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter II at 8, was no good at either of them(never really cared for MK) and swore never to play another fighter. I broke my words at 12 when Capcom's vs. series as well as Street Fighter III were gaining steam at that time I wanted to do more than just a Hadou-Ken or mash buttons. I first encountered KOF in 2000 and admit was intrigued but knew of no one who played SNK fighters when I lived in Brooklyn.Fast forward to almost a year ago when I found some tourney footage from Japan on youtube and plus the fact that I don't like the direction SF was going caused me to come over to further my knowledge of the KOF games. Learning the nuts and bolts of these games(starting with XIII)is hard but I don't quit easily.   

I'm excited about the new characters,wonder when it's coming out.

Please don't flame me for this because it was just a thought and I admit I didn't think it thoroughly but I was thinking during the podcasts, that there would be a newbie kof segment. In which tactics and strategies that appeal to the new players are discussed by a panel of seasoned players.   

I've been following development for this game and cant wait for the 7th. I think my main would be Akihiko.

Mh, if you guys live in California/relatively close to California, we can play a bit. I don't mind practicing with you guys. I have been playing for a while, but I can try to be as helpful as possible towards your progress in the game.

About an hour ago, I was thrusted into an online match.As someone who is still trying to learn the nuts and bolts of KOF. I knew this wasn't gonna work out in my favour. I composed a team of Terry(point), Kensou, and Daimon(anchor) while my opponent had Robert, Mai, and Takuma. All the basic stuff I drilled in my head accounted for nothing as he exploited gap after gap. I got him down to his Takuma but it was too late.I'm not giving up on KOF, but I'd rather fight to win. Is there anyone on the PSN who is willing to train with me? I could really use some help.thanx
