KoF XIII : "Net Battle" (Casuals)

I fucking love this guy's channel. It's an SNK fan's wet dream. All of you, start checking it out now!

This is the only KOF XIII vid he has, though.

EDIT: Ugh... nude Raiden...

Awesome Mai play!

I may just buy a one month subscription to Xbox LIVE to tide me over until I can get a 12 month card.

Jump  ;d, Close Stand  ;d xx df+ ;a, Hyperdrive Mode Activation, Close Stand  ;d xx df+ ;a xx  ;bk ;db ;dn ;df ;fd ;b ;d,  ;dn ;db ;bk  ;a (or ;c? I always use  ;c), HD Cancel  ;bk ;db ;dn ;df ;fd ;bk ;db ;dn ;df ;fd ;a ;c, MAX Cancel  ;fd ;df ;dn ;db ;bk ;fd ;df ;dn ;db ;bk ;b ;d = 990 damage. I am guessing a Counter Hit Jump  ;d would make this a Touch Of Death Combo.

EDIT: This is, in fact, a Touch Of Death combo on Kula. I was previously did the combo in it's entirety on Raiden. Nice to know characters have difference endurance levels.

EDIT: So far, this kills everybody. Testing continued.

you really have to time jump in`s late in this game to combo. I know they reduced the hitstun from the arcade version. Gonna take a bit of getting used to. Do you guys find a big difference?

YES! I was wondering what was going on when I attempt a jumpin combo. Thank you for the enlightenment.

In my opinion, you only missed out on some great gaming. But at least you saved some gas money. And that's important too!

Again, I know this very much to be true, at least partially. I say this because Shoshioh has the PC dump available and after maybe two different play sessions, I just decided to leave the game alone until console release because I felt I wasn't really learning anything as well as I would have liked to while he just beat down on me. Of course, this is alright, but it just didn't work for me. That is why I'm giving Training Mode a full month before I even dare take on anyone online (or offline, for that matter). Gas prices outright suck, and they doubly suck if you're using your vehicle as a means to make money as I was doing package delivery all over Houston for a while, then decided to take a hiatus from that and get a gig doing pizza delivery in a smaller town about 25 minutes southeast of where I live. At least I will be taking up the package delivery gig again to go with the pizza delivery job so I can make a bit more with my car.

Have I been wrong for not playing The King Of Fighters XIII at the local arcade (not really trying to give them free press but most of you already know what arcade I am talking about) for the past many months despite the 35+ mile drive to and from the arcade?

In all honesty, playing at the arcade is preparing you for playing in the console. It's going to be a little more difficult of a climb for you if you are up against people who consistently play the game. If it's a tough drive, I understand that, but once a week wouldn't hurt to get some experience in.

Very true. My only counter to this is hit training mode from Day 1 of the console release and nothing but training mode all the way until Christmas, which is when I anticipate getting Xbox LIVE Gold again. Also, it wasn't only the drive itself, but after I finished a three month contract job (from March to May) which paid decently and allowed me to work at home, I simply and currently have not quite recovered from that.

isn't there a pretty significant difference between console and arcade K? a lot of those juggles probably gotta be changed up.

Still better than watching cable television.

I'll probably read the game manual while I take a shit.

So, it's probably been asked before, but does everyone know what they're going to do first when they get their copy of KOF XIII in one month?

I'm gonna be playing the game on a pad for the first time, so I'll definitely be going to practice mode to get adjusted to the inputs. Maybe try out that mission mode that tests combos. It's probably gonna take me at least thirty minutes to feel comfortable doing my go-to combos.

After that, it's straight to network mode. Gotta put that netcode through it's paces.  :)

Training Mode for a solid month.

Go play 98, then.
I do.
But those who dont wont be able to enjoy it.

Too. Fucking. Bad.

Go play 98, then.

I was thinking about giving him a running grab, but if he had that, I don't think he's need the damage buff I suggested earlier. Still though, it would be welcome regardless.

I'd be happy if Clark got a damage buff on his SAB, UAB DM/EX DM, Air Throw, and NeoMAX. I don't think he needs much else other than steady damage.

Why doesn't it? :) Seriously though, it just is much more interesting, whether it be style reasons, personal preference, or just for the sake of creativity. Chiefly, I'm one who like diversity in his gaming cast, and I love the way SNKP has been very daring with the character choices. I'd be a bit disappointed if all we end up with is a bunch of guys who have similiar body types, since XII and XIII have given me some of my favorite characters, from the ones who go aganist the usual molds.

It's much more than a "hur hur, they gotz boobz!" issue for me, I assure you!

You know what? That was a well thought out response, I can dig it. Truth be told, KOF is the only (or one of the only) fighting game series in which I can pick some of the females, sometimes as a team, and not feel like some jackass is going to judge me for picking only female characters due to pre-conceived negative notions. Don't get me wrong, I like boobs, but I look at, say, Mai differently as a 31 year old male becoming-casual fighting game fan than I did back in 1992 as a 12 year old fighting game preteen with body and facial hair already in tow. I can pick King, Whip (if I bothered to player her), Vice, Mature, Vanessa (see Whip), Mary (see Whip), Leona, Xiao Long (yeah, I like her), Misty (bet you all forgot 'bout her), and Chae Lim. Mai/Yuri/Athena? I'd rather they'ed get Kaiser Waved off the stage.
