Well, Finland has this old tradition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puukkojunkkari

On the subject Kensou, something was bit off. XIII stance with "classic KOF"-ish costume, he sounded weird, like he had a flu. Also his projectile was so tiny, compared to rest of the cast.

Capoeira is a martial art that started in Africa (Angola) that was imported to Brasil. This also includes samba. So Zafina represents culture outside of Brasil as well.  Im ok with vidoegames not representing every aspect of African culture. I dont think people should look to a video game that has aliens, demons, testube babies, clones, resurrected humans and cookie monsters as a litmus test for diversity and representation of society. These are artist who just make a videogame.   KOF XIII stages are pretty stereotypical (chinese people in markets, western fat white women gorging on food, Indians on elephants etc.) and no one blinked an eye.  But this is just my opinion.

The same stages are in XII and they were talked about a lot backed then. People love to think XII is not real or something, but it is apart of the main line-up.
I think they should've called XII something else, like Neowave did.

I've dreamed of Nordic characters in fighting games, but they are ususally something like "Hey by the way, this character's Swedish". I guess Sweden has most international appeal...

I think Finns are most known in greco-roman and freestyle wrestling circles, but those aren't really "sexy" to be in fighting game. At least SNK had Ivan Sokolov representing real wrestling in Buriki One.

A German that doesn't like booze? LOL

Hmm, I've been in Germany once and I don't want to stereotype, but everyone drank. I don't use alcohol at all and stereotype about Finnish people is that we drink way too much.

@MetalThrashingMadman

I understand where you are coming from, but I guess this is sort of a reboot of the series with fresh faces. 50 characters and someone is still missing, yeah... I personally would make few changes to mainstay teams, but I'm quite happy with the roster.

Eh, I'm not too thrilled with Geese. He only has one of his classic DMs and it's a Climax and it looks like Rock's version of Raging Storm. And I'd rather have Jaiken than his new rekka.

I am, however, glad they decided to compose a new track for the team instead of settling for another remix of Geese's classic theme. The Nightmare Geese trailer left the impression that they were going to do the latter.
I'm liking it. I'm sure it feels like Geese, but with certain freshness.

Yeah, good thing they made new track. I'm going to be honest, original Geese ni Kissu is the best version, as it has most "umph" in it. Others feel bit lackluster in comparison. Although I like this arrangement quite a lot https://youtu.be/Jy8HTJyUwpY

I got the feel that their theme would fit into Samurai Shodown.

Bow before me!

Billy still looks cool, if I only I could figure out how to play him. Hein look kinda cool, not my favorite desing, but still nice addition to roster. Geese looked so badass, Raging Storm is more like a storm this time, a whirpool.

This theme is more like "Geese Ja!" and sounded so badass. Hype meter increasing!

I noticed that there are quite a lot characters with rekkas. Not necessarily bad thing, but aren't rekka characters usually quite top tier material? Funny thing, rekka means truck in Finnish :)

Okay, some notes.

- Is Mian stance character? She has two follow up moves that can be done in air. I'd say probably not, but I have to personally try her out.

- Geese seemed intresting. New rekka (?) type move, super Reppuken, super Counter and Raging Storm has simplified command. I know pretzel was iconic, but I personally welcome this change. Although pretzel motion kinda made sense, what Geese was doing in the move.

- Zarina seemed kinda basic, I really hope I enjoy playing her.

- Xanadu has intresting move names. Maybe he is wise person?

- Tung has full motion based move set. Charge motion made sense Sho Ha, but I'm not complaining.

I was surprised that Geese and Terry didn't have special intro. I think it would be kinda nice, if someone uses Nightmare Geese costume, Terry/Andy would be slightly shocked to see something like that.

Billy's having a rough time :)

I wonder if new episode of KOF Station is coming this week? They said that next episode will be airing mid-July and we are now living mid-July, right?

Well, nothing surpirising in that interview really.

I've noticed that Japanese developers have this "all in!" mentality. Like with this Pachinko mania, it's like major developers/publishers disappeared for few years. Same with mobile gaming, but that mania has declined to healthy levels now.

Well, this happened to me https://twitter.com/RaivokasMagma/status/751466596342894593

When I move to my new apartment, then I'm going to pre-order KOF XIV. Soon after the release, school is going to start, so do I have the time to play is another thing. New life situation for me, properly out of my childhood home and higher level of studies...

Bios are up:

https://www.snkplaymore.co.jp/us/games/kof-xiv/teams/mexico.php

There's some neat stuff in there. Angel's fighting style has a name. Vanessa is apparently a mentor to Ramon. And KOD's bio is just LOL.

I understand it that bio entry means that he likes the mask and Vanessa. I also understand that it could mean that Vanessa is Ramon's mentor.

So Angel's style is called Perfunctory. I wonder does K' still use Pure Violence....

Theme song sounds so party-like. I like it.

Angel seems like Angel and 3D opens new possibilities for some suggestive stuff :)

King of Dinosaurs looked nice, can't wait to try him.

At least Ramon's super animation have made faster. Climax was kinda lame, but voice actor sounded so different...

I'm not sure on Sylvie's personality yet, other than she looks and acts strange. I guess what the story modes for right.

She is from nests right? I think I read that she was a weak person but has now developed in the underground scene as a good fighter or something along those lines.

Yeah, something like that.
