Yeah, thats the thing all i see is red bars which could also mean their not from my region, i need to test with someone from the UK, when i got the game i tried online with a friend had 3 bars, but couldn't really tell how good the online was since i didn't know how to play, also wish SNK includes a rematch option and not let people under the connection limit of your lobby join your lobby pretty annoying when your training mode.

Ummm... it does have a rematch option on player match. The people entering your room with a 2 bar when you have a 3 bar and above is a glitch. When the person selects your room it does say that they have a 3 bar connection. Now just because it says 2 bars does not necessarly mean it's 2 bars. It might be a 3 bar match. The bar system is completely messed up unfortunately and if someone comes into your room I would recommed playing them once to see how it plays rather then saying they aren't worth playing.

It isn't as messed up as it is that whatever it uses to measure ping between both players usually equals a worser than normal result most of the time, it happens on SSF4 AE for PC too, althought instead of showing one less bar it's one more bar.

BB's netcode is trash, it's only useful for doing chains of attacks, not for reaction based stuff. 5 frames is an unplayable delay.

2002 on Supercade has 0 delay frames added to it, the only game that has extra delay is 3S I think, ¿trashing Supercade just because of that one game?. It's a fallacy to say all games on it have extra delay.

Supercade has 0 delay added to all games, but has no delay control where you can add to it to make your online matches run smoother. Ggpo comes with 1 delay added to it by default which you can decrease, so in fact Supercade is by default less laggy than Ggpo.

The only way to go for fighting games producers nowadays is to build netcodes with the premise of completely or almost completely eliminating delay, since the technology is already out there. It looks shameful, how companies haven't been able to come up with better netcodes than ggpo and supercade with the same vision. There is no other way to offer an acceptable online fighting game. 2 delay frames is the last playable spot a good player must accept, anything beyond that is unplayable and distorting the metagame in the end. When it comes to games like XIII with input delay netcodes, I can withstand up to 6 frames but in the end I'm not playing the game as it should be played.

It's called desyncing, it happens when one of the players has an unstable connection with packet loss or something like that.

Hey, you're really close to me. Make sure to add me on PSN cause we can probably play together and see if we can get a 4 bar connection going. I'm in Lake City, so I'm like an hour if not less away from you. If you're actually in jville. Even still, I'd like to test same-state connections.

Ping each other first through pc and use that to post your ping time in relation to him along with the rest.

2 observations:

You guys should be posting primarily ping times, and of lesser importance, bars.

We don't know if playing with your modem connected to a router could cause delay.

Searching over the internet, i've found this article info about how ggpo works http://skullgirls.com/2011/09/skullgirls-ggpo-and-you/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=skullgirls-ggpo-and-you

It would be awesome if SNKP implements anything similar (similar, not GGPO), i wouldn't be bothered about rollbacks if just i could move my character in the time it is supposed to be moving.

What do you guys think?

You can adjust delay increasing it in very minor quantities (two frames work for up to 200ms) and it runs smooth. Developers can't build anything else but delay free netcodes nowadays, otherwise it's trash.

When will people understand that what kind of internet speed is irrelevant, it's your ping times what matters.
Where did I say otherwise? If you can look closely it say what my ping is, 5ms, so it's very low, I don't understand what you are trying to do here...

Your 5ms means nothing, it's the ping you have related to the person playing against you what matters, and it differs with the distance.

To people saying it's fine with optic fiber it's not true
Here is my connect 100mb optic fiber and I'm in europe.

and yet I still have input delay, and I tested playing with a friend who live in the same town and with fiber too.
Sure it's "playable" but  you can't be serious about it.
I just think some people can't notice lag even if they had 200 ping really..

Problem is noobs never use the delay increase feature ggpo and SF3OE has, and keep on 0 or 1, so when a high ping guy plays them, it starts to frameskip.

FUCK THAT NETCODE.

Is all what I have to say.

My connection: ADSL 8-9 Mb. Wired

With spanish people (my country) I only have 2 bars. With France (very close to me) 2 bars. With UK people 1 bar. Is this a good netcode? NO.

I SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY AT LEAST WITH 3 BARS WITH EUROPEAN PEOPLE.

the game hasn't been released in Japan yet. I think we should wait. But then, SNKP needs to release a patch to fix this not good at all netcode.

I don't doubt 3 bars works fine. But I will not tolerate a game where I only have 2 bars with people of my region, when in other games liks SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV I can play without lag.

Is my last try with SNKPlaymore and KOF. If the online is not fixed, I just will leave KOF.
It has been too much time, too much energies, too much hype, too much hope. I'm tired, really tired. And I start thinking I should really transfer into another fighting game.

Why do you blame the game for your ping times?

Learn from http://www.atlus.com/forum/showpost.php?p=271166&postcount=45 that guy to post a correct opinion about the netcode. You are read like a kid complaining to his mother illogically. Fix your stuff first, and if you don't have everything you should have, don't complain.

Just the fact that some people report that they have been able to have 3 and even 2 bar games with very little to ok delay means that the game is capable of that. Everything beyond that line of "good" is the player's fault.

It's like people that don't know anything about optimizing their connections to not have problems online bitching about ggpo games being too choppy, if you don't know when it starts to get choppy, or you are streaming and your connection doesn't allow you to not suffer an effect by doing that, it's your problem, but the game should always run smooth as long as you are within the ping limits with the person you play with to prevent it.

You guys can express your disagreement without royally shitting over the game's name, creating bad fame for it's netcode. Complain but don't exaggerate with your negativity.

Exaggeration breeds change.  If we shortsell how bad the netcode is, they won't do anything to fix it, or won't do enough.

Exaggerating never does any good. Say it in a proper way and they will take you more seriously.

Unfortunately that's how most of them are.
