General Discussion / Re: KOFXIII console tournament standard

Unless there's a big difference between the two different versions of the game, this isn't for us to decide. Unless people from DC are running the KOF event at majors we really have don't have a voice. TOs are going to do whatever is convenient for them to run the tournament. And that's how it should be if it follows the current scene. AE and MvC3 get run on both 360 and PS3 while Tekken has obvious flaws on the 360  version so it's run on PS3 only. If both versions of KOF13 are comparable then it should be run on whichever system the TO chose to use for their particular major.

From what you say I guess you're not fast enough, try to explain more precisely your problem, I can't help you with so few informations.

Is there a visual cue, or something that tells me when i should do the second qcb+b so a narrow spike will come out instead of a minute spike?

I'm not sure if this is the problem you're talking about but to get from Minute Spike to Narrow Spike I input the second qcb+B BEFORE I even see the Minute Spike hit.

For the dp+A (DC) qcb+B you could try inputting f, qcf+A, hcb+B.

There's also comboing into d/f+B and I doubt having meter is going to change much. Kula really only has one efficient BNB and all her combos are just different ways to lead into it.

I am confirmed for not being able to make the Ramnation KOF 13 release tournament.

If TO's follow other games then DLC characters will be bought and allowed in tournament unless they are straight broken.

If I can figure a way to get out there and back I might show up.

Right I agree, I did take into account things like difficulty and screen position but for some characters it definitely was a problem. Also I'm pretty sure at the moment there are no combos that say you should have x amount of meter and y combo will build exactly enough to do z.

IIRC K' had about 6 or 7 combos for 1 super 1 drive. It's K' so those combos all work anywhere and are about the same difficulty. The problem is a lot of stuff on the wiki hasn't been looked over in a while so some of it many be dated, especially the optimal combos.

There are a lot of resources out there for cool and flashy combos but in my opinion, a gameplay wiki should include the most damage for that amount of meter. However if a combo is really difficult such as K's dp+A (DC) qcf+C then there should be some variations that use the same meter and deal just a bit less damage.

That's the approach I took when I edited the pages.

I reworked Kula's and K's combo section. Basically I deleted a bunch of combos that were pointless based on the fact that we have optimized combos now and don't need 50 variations of the same meter usage. If anyone wants to go ahead and delete the 100% drive section for K' since I think that's useless as well but I don't know how to do it. Then again sometimes you build the meter for a kill so I'm not 100% about that.

I also added some random notes to Raiden and Ash's optimized stun combo.

Liz's driveless combos got the treatment as well. I don't actually know any drive combos with her so I didn't touch that section.

Added one combo to Andy's section and changed the notation to look like the other pages.

I might actually put game play notes tomorrow or something.

Oh whoops sorry about that, I don't know why I saw two (DC) in that combo. I wasn't sure about the A/C gatlings because I know that if you do C gatling you get another and I could not remember which for the life of me.

j.A cr.A db~f+C (DC) mash P (DC) db~f+AC db~f+C mash P db~f+P nj.D

It should be that. I'm not sure what the last db~f+P is but it should be another C.

Well I started learning how to play kof 2k2 online. I think my record for the first two weeks was 1-300+. Grind it out man you'll get it eventually. I understand that trying to play 13 is quite a bit harder since it's actually costing you money every play but if you like the game you'll figure something out.

Ramnation goes down in Tyram's garage or something I believe. I haven't been there personally but I'm looking to make the trek one of these days, maybe when Chris goes.
