So guys keep Friday the 28th of this month open please, we have our first (and hopefully many) guest Isaiah from NorCal SouthTownArcade coming to visit us hoping to exchange tricks from each other.  I'll confirm as the date gets closer, but so far Friday works the best for us.

He told me about this and I asked if I wanted to go and I was like "I'M ALREADY THERE MENTALLY BRO!"....unfortunately that's about as close to SoCal as I'm getting on the 28th cause I'm hosting a BBQ the next day at my house T_T....see you in Decemeber... /firstworldproblems

Ahh its in December? I heard it was October but i guess i had the dates mixed up.

Edit: IGN uploaded some KOF XIII footage. Some crappy play overall except for one vid which is a complete online match.

Now to find both their locations. on another note, load times is shorter
how exactly would be able to find out the locations of the players?

Well since IGN didn't write something up about this, yet, explaining exactly what was happening here, we won't find out. My guess is it was on two systems in the office..which is..well on office-grade net, it's really hard to sell to consumers. "Look how well netplay runs on our offices awesome network, you guys should buy this!". If they on the other hand, playing on consumer grade net, in two different locations and had a positive experience, that would be sweet.

oh I thought that was at State lol, I should have known there'd be no way KOF would get 37 consecutive games at SFSU.

Yea, I'm hoping there's a big showing. I'm getting some practice in, but haven't been doing much at SFSU. I'm getting there, so I want to make sure I'm on the ball this ranbat. Will probably get some practice this Thursday and Friday so I'm ready for the tournament.

I also am trying to push this video initiative out of Norcal a little further. It would require capturing some footage, but I want to do a basic commentary tutorial on each character so people can get more than just combos out of videos but detailed neutral game gameplay.

I would love to see Isaiah in on that, and have him rage out everytime he gets into what's stupid about a character lol.

Decent turnout this week it's looking like, judging by what I'm hearing the guys say. Will my 2nd place performance be a fluke, or am I the real deal? TICK TOCK!

I enjoy the Fatal Fury team themes in most games, XIII's is cool and XI goes pretty well with it..kinda wished Kim Team's was better, seems kinda mellow compared to past themes.

I personally plan to send every ragequitter I meet a personal message thanking them for the win. Personally.

I had a big rant ready to go but I don't wanna be an asshole, all I'll say is I'm frustrated, lots of people are frustrated, and Atlus promoting Catherine at Dromstruction isn't really helping, refusing to float a demo to Southtown Arcade so they can do a similar event to Ultimate Norcal vs Capcom isn't helping. We're doing everything we can here to push this game and while I understand, respect and HOPE that they have their own genius ideas for how to promote this game, I can also see how the mood around the fan can start shifting to bipolar-esque states. I'll agree with MTMadman, we gotta be patient, it'll be out eventually...

...Okay I lied, I'm also gonna say, and some of my best friends play this game, FUCK CATHERINE! Damn you Dacidbro!

Yeah but you know people who aren't already playing something probably aren't gonna start because we came through. If they did...I dunno I kinda feel like they'd just end up being free anyway lol.

Mmmn~ after reading all of this, I'm kind of on the fence, on one hand I believe a scene needs to build itself. If the interest isn't already there and not enough to encourage players to learn a game, then there isn't much you can do about it.

On the other hand, I feel Reiki on the thought that KOFXIII going unplayed at GC is a travesty. I'd like to see them build up like we are, but they've got to have that drive already. We had it, starting from SFSU with just 5 or 6 people. That's pretty much how these things begin anyway.

As for showing love to STA, I agree we should support them for doing everything they can for us, but we should also support growth in other areas. That may be as simple as showing up on Fridays 9-12 am to get in on the freeplay which I think is the best idea for the GC scene, if they can't make something out of that alone then they're just not feeling it or they're waiting for console.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I updated the date I'm holding the KOF XIII Online Tournament. If you have not signed up already here's the link.

@HaxMurderer:  Good job yesterday. I knew you had it in you.

I'll be there! And thanks and also thanks to Nilcam for the commendation :D
