Training Room / Training partner requests part 2 - KOF14 edition

(Posting a new thread because I read in the rules that bumping is forbidden. If a mod thinks it's better to merge my two topics, I'm fine with it)

So, my situation is the same as my previous topic: living in Italy, stuck with a shitty 25ms ADSL with currently no perspective of being able to switch to a VDSL2 connection -which is the greatest kind of service available in most Italian cities right now and typically grants you 5ms measured from you to sites close to you in my country-, little to no fighting game experience against human players -I win casual SFV matches on a 1:2 ratio, but it's just because that game's matchmaking system is a miracle, no true skill on my part-, in need to meet fellow European KOF fans who don't mind wasting their time by playing against a vastly inferior player. The only change is that KOFXIV is out, so I'm not limited to the abysmal PS3 XIII netplay anymore.

I'm not asking for a tutorship, scheduled sessions or anything like that, I just would like to exchange PSN IDs with players who don't get bored when they play with weak players, so that we can set up a 2 people room and have a set if we both happen to be online playing XIV at a given time.

After checking that ranked mode is a no-no because it connects me with Japanese players even when I set my search on lv.4 only -Europe on ADSL vs. Japan = underwater match-, I tried having some training in form of level 5 matches against the CPU -but the only thing a lv5 AI manages to do is urging me to play ultra-cheap and ultra-campy-, then I gave up joining random European rooms and playing with total strangers, which I'm doing everyday since last Friday.

So, it's not like I'm sitting in a corner and whining without making any effort, because I love KOF and I wanna learn it, but getting severely defeated by a total stranger is just disheartening to me, and makes me feel I haven't learnt anything, whereas getting severely defeated by someone who knows and understands that I'm a total noob needing to learn how to compete wouldn't bother me at all, and I'm sure it will help me learning the game.

Pro-Gear / How to make a Real Arcade Pro.2 "top-opener"?

I need to be able to open my stick from the top like a Madcatz TE. It's a Japanese Tekken 5, basically a HRAP2 without the turbo thingy in the top left corner. Is there an alternative to Arthong's top loaders which only requires stuff you can easily buy from your local hardware store? I live in Italy and Arthong ships from the US (or so I think), so I'm not willing to pay a huge shipment fee for a couple metal and plastic pieces since I don't have anything else to buy from them...

I was thinking about glueing spacers and bolts inside the case, where there are the holes I should put the screws in, and replace the original screws with ones of the same kind Madcatz TEs are equipped with. Is Super Attak -or equivalent- the right product to glue metal to plastic? Sorry for my DIY ignorance xD

I mean just the lever, not the whole arcade stick peripheral. I'm open to add more options to the poll if you suggest them.

Long story short, JLF is my favorite lever ATM. I find its "mushiness" perfect for fighting games. For my taste, Seimitsu-like levers require too much force for games where you need to execute fast and accurate circular motions.

The details: I started my journey into the world of above-average arcade sticks with the Namco Arcade Stick, which is supposed to mimic Seimitsu lever and buttons*, the stuff you found in a genuine MVS cabinet. Shortly after, I managed to find an used Japanese Tekken 5 Stick, the one with the lightning artwork. I bought it because I didn't know some licensed HRAP-like sticks don't have QD wires for buttons although they're equipped with a JLF, so I had to get help soldering QD wires to the PCB -I don't have any basic soldering skills. You can imagine my shock when I found out the awful stock buttons on that beast can't be easily swapped xDDDDD After making it full Sanwa, I love it.

I wish I had the skills to add PS4 compatibility and a touchpad...or that Hori made a PS4 stick with an Astro City type chassis. I miss that round, heavy design.

*Is it right? If yes, do any of you know what exact lever and button variation the Namco Stick is based on?

WARNING: insanely long message ahead.

I got a very dark secret about my gaming history, one that I think I can share with you all since I see DC is a welcoming, sensible community: though I love fighting games, I've never had a chance to get good against other people. That's not a KOF thing, I need to learn how to fight a human opponent from the basics, especially defense.

But sadly, there's little to no interest in fighters in the town where I live, and online is mostly a nightmare since we are a niche and there are no players at the same (terrible) skill level as me. The only "positive" experience I've ever had is with BBCSEX on XBox Live, where the matchmaking system actually seemed to actually understand what a noob I am, so I won roughly half of my online matches learning nothing in the process -you get why I wrote "positive" in brackets now-, and I obviously got a fair share of excruciating losses of the "defense mistake in the beginning >>> death by 100% combo" kind.

So, does anyone have the guts to train this poor beginner on PS3 KOFXIII? xD PS3 is my only means of online gaming right now...(I also have BBCP, SSF2THDR, TTT2 and SFxT on PS3, just in case anyone is interested) I'm only filling in the "PSN" field in my profile if I get any training offers, because you can trust me you wouldn't get any fun in fighting me now, besides laughing Iori-style at my lack of skills xD I had given my PSN and Live nicknames somewhere else when KOFXIII was released, but I soon realized what mistake I had made and stopped confirming requests LOL.

I live in Italy, so keep it in mind for netplay quality reasons.

I'm aware there's a similar thread here, so I'll understand if mods wanna merge this message with that topic.
