As of right now Playmore is looking into the handheld market so to speak. It's just not what you particulary want. Playmore is porting a bunch of titles to the mobile phones. Titles off the top of my head are Garou Mark of the Wolves, King of Fighters XIII, King of Fighters '97, Metal Slug Defense, and King of Fighters Rhythm. I believe some of the other Metal Slug titles might be there as well (like 3) but I can't remember off hand.

As for other things Playmore has focused on Steam more of late then consoles (though they did release Metal Slug 3 on PS3 somewhat recently). If you are looking for a brand new title for the portable market that might take a while. None of the recent rumors and news has been positive of late. On top of that Playmore's support of Nintendo's handhelds has been sparatic at best. I wish you the best in getting players hyped for this.

If you're looking for a good fighting game on the go the Sony PSP pretty much dominated the market for it. Capcom had Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Darkstalkers The Chaos Tower, Capcom Collections (Street Fighter II and Street Fighter I), Namco had Tekken 5 DR, Tekken 6, and Soul Calibur, Arc System had Guilty Gear, and Playmore had King of Fighters The Orochi Saga ('94-'98), and Samurai Shodown Anthology (1-6).

Now if you mod the system that brings the option of getting CPS2 converters, Neo Geo Converters, and Playstation 1 player which covers a crap ton of fighters just on those 3 let alone other arcade game converters are available. So if you want a portable system to play fighters I don't understand what you really want other then Nintendo to release more fighters

GG's Great Dark Hero. Suprisingly good connection for '02UM. Sorry the session was short it was way past my bed time and I was running out of steam.

Tough question since we're talking 95 - 96 . I think I was using Kayin, but it might have been Eiji cause I mained Kayin in BAT 2 and the tournament at the time was 1. Also used Ellis, the old man in the jester looking outfit, Sho, Vermillion in 2.

A little necro but..... I played a bunch of it back in BAT 1 & 2 we even had a tournament at a anime club meeting I helped host. I think I won if I remember right. Still own the anime and BAT 2.

Ahh Battle Arena Toshinden. It gives me warm fuzzies to bring that game up. On topic I'm betting Aria will mostly be used as a boss rather then a regular character. Considering Omen already does the wing thing and for him to be viable online they had to nerf his damage WAY down basically making him a sort of Dan type character where you show skill if you win consistantly.

I never really got into Blaz Blue. Guilty Gear is fun, but it's never been a favorite of mine. I do play GG Xrd now and then. I dunno how to put my feelings towards it other then it feels kinda bland. I tend to find myself using the same sthick over and over cause it works, where in a KOF, Tekken, or SF using the same sthick over and over will get you killed.

I think with a GG Xrd netcode, something like a new KOF could be worth it, or possibly throwing KOF XIII on the current gen systems might make it play better. As for now I'm happy to play the older games online and hope technology advances further to the point where worring about netcode becomes moot (at least playing within your country)

That crap is confusing. I could swear Tekken (and Smash for that matter) is based on giving offline extra input delay to help with online matches. Yet his first explanation talks about how that is a problem.

With Tekken it always felt like the input delay gets to be too much too quickly. It's smooth, but a lot of input delay.

Nowadays you almost have to. KOF XIII was the last game I remember to not do this and it's pretty much unplayable (at least to offline standards). The problem I have with most games now is making the gameplay slower or more defensive (like SFIV) to offset this. I love playing crazy, balls to the wall offensive style at times, but online there's like a ceiling preventing a lot of what I want to do. So, to win most times I turn to either defensive, or methotical style. It works, but is boring after a while.

Personally I find myself playing older titles because it just doesn't feel as limited. I can play the same online and offline as I always do. I just wish the companies would produce more rather then getting the same titles on different systems. (98UM, 02UM)

SNK Games / Re: [Rumor] Garou, KOF MI, NGBC getting new ports?

I'm thinking it's easier to port old xbla ports to steam so there's a good chance we will see NGBC, Fatal Fury Special, and Samurai Shodown II before it's all over as well.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but it's more then likely PS2 ports. Only reason I could ever see KOF MI2 getting any port.

King of Fighters 98/UM/FE / Re: KOF98UMFE Steam North America Reports

Played the past 2 days. 1st day it felt like supercade with frame drops galore. Saw some ridiculous ping times but decided not to try them. All in all it was playable, but honestly not as enjoyable as playing good connection players on xbla.

2nd day I played late at night so a lot of 300m/s ping and up. Matches were very laggy. Sometimes above 1 second input delay.  Not a fair assessment, but it was completely unplayable. Seems like above 250m/s is unplayable for me.

'98's main difference is the severe lack of vortex options. A lot of naysayers hate that about it saying it feels "clunky", but from someone who prefers footsies, but still have options to approach the game in many different ways it's one of the best.

I'm probably going to buy it 1st day, but since I have heard nothing of Playmore testing netcode I am pessimestic on how good the netcode will be. Betting on shitty netcode and everybody quits playing within 2-3 months. I'll still try it though.
