Consolized MVS

Guess what I found...

http://www.analogueinteractive.com/product.php

Kinda cool? You'll be able to play MVS cartridges without buying cabinet and it has holes for different video cables. Too bad it costs 649 dollars. I'm going to stick with PS2 ports of NeoGeo games.

You pay more for the consolized MVS but the games tend to be cheaper.

You can always get a cheap CMVS. You can find them as cheap as 200. The only reason this costs so much is because of the wood.

I'm in the process of building one, pretty hyped to say the least. '98 and '02 carts are already in the bag.

edit:

using the MV1-C motherboard w/ Unibios 3.0. Currently waiting on Jeff for one of his Neobitz boards.

What does Unibios 3.0 do fr the board btw? I'm not big on the tech side of things but I'm interested to know. :)

And for that kind of money, you're better off finding an AES system and then buying the AES-->MVS converter cart.

Sorry but no, An AES system costs around 100 to 300 used. Plus, an extra 200 for a good mvs to aes converter since alot of the converters don't support all the games. Also you can ruin your system by attempting to solder in the unibios.

Also the unibios makes it where you can set it to AES on MVS cartridges.
Unibios also has a In game menu for cheats.
Debug Dipswitch support on neo geo games(this is how i posted those hitboxes for kof98).
Sound test for the games(even those with out it).
Plus quite a bit more features.

An AES system goes for close to $100-$300? That's not that bad when you think about it. If anything, it's the AES games that will drain your wallet more compared to the actual system.

There's also this CMVS coming out soon: http://arcadeworks.net/

Looks alot nicer than the walnut one (in my opinion), due to looking alot more like an original AES.

Also i would agree owning a CMVS is far better than an AES with a phantom convertor, if you prefer that more 'authentic feel' to your collection/shelf you can get shockboxes made from SouthTown. (http://www.southtown-homebrew.com/)

I think i own about 50 odd MVS carts i think, and for some of those games on their own on AES would cost about as much as all of my MVS carts. :-/
