Regarding teams, we were discussing about it the other night. If we throw together a team tourney, it'd likely have to be on Sunday given time/space constraints. One concern I had was what to do about button configurations when switching players between rounds? Similarly, what about switching sticks/controllers for player preference? There's pad players to consider along with players (like myself) who don't play on japanese sticks; buttons configured SNK line layout or box layout. You could form teams that use the same everything (one stick/controller, one control scheme), but that may alienate some players from playing. Otherwise, it'd boil down to having to pause the game in between each round to make button and controller changes which would make matches take longer to finish (and be somewhat annoying to do constantly).

The Answer: how do you guys in SoCal usually handle running 3v3 teams? Any thoughts/comments on my controller/button concerns above?

He's talking about arcade so there was never a problem since of most of us play the exact same layout, except for me. And since it was arcade everybody had to use the same joystick

Anyone here is meeting up and getting a room together? I'm going to be there with the New York, Virtua Fighter Crew. And would love to get down on some KOF action, than the usual SFIV that goes down in NEC. So yeah, let me know via PM if anything.

Fuck yeah I just registered lol, I woke up this morning as was like "FFFFFUUUUUUUUU" cause I forgot about the deadline but I'm cool now.

About teams tourney is just like Metaphysics said, pretty much eveybody plays the oldschool config so we don't really have that problem. but I think if we pause the game right at the beginning of the round and configure the buttons it should go pretty fast. Based on the singles registration I'm guessing we'll have 8 teams at most and if you have 4 setups this should take no more than 2 hours max.

This will be the first time anything like this is ever done so I'll leave it up to you guys but I think it will be a fun addition to NEC.

Just found out they added KOF to the list of games at NEC, and I registered immediately.  LOL

Anyways, I don't care much about the tourney.  I'm there to meet fellow KOF players and get as many games as possilbe.  Do you guys have a place set up for casual plays?

Saitsuofleaves

Jaguar said his room is welcome for casuals so talk to him.

Is there going to be a KOF stream? Or is it just side tourney stuff and we'll have to wait for maybe VODs?  :(

Cibernetico

Top 4 will be streamed on Sunday according to The Hubbs. The rest of the tournament will be streamless but I plan to head there to record some pool mathces tomorrow.

Ufgt

Damn.

Guess I will just make time on Sunday to watch the final 4.

LazieFreddy

Wait, so can anyone confirm if KOF starts on saturday or sunday?

Yes, KOF starts Saturday. Stream-wise, we're tentatively going to be stream about 2 hours of KOF on Saturday via 8wayrun.com and then Top 4 on Sunday. See everyone at NEC TOMORROW!
