I still think the real reason for the delay was an inability to get shelf space, which isn't Atlus's fault- they got bumped by bigger publishers.  SNK probably delayed outright, because it doesn't hurt them, and they get more time to polish the netcode up.  Inability to get shelf space happens plenty to smaller publishers- and is a reason why many games have gone DD.

I think it if was truly a quality issue, Atlus wouldn't have been so set on the new date, and I don't think we're getting a second delay now- the game looks ready.

Personally, I rather SNK take more time to make a better game than buy a crap game for an early release.

I truly hope KOF XIII can make a better number on sales. SNK put this much effort on it, they deserve to earn much on it.
I also hope this can make another peak for KOF. Maybe someday, KOF can truly become a fighting game that can compare to SF...Of course, I personally like KOF better.

lol in my time it was easily kof > sf. sf only became > kof after sf4. after 02 there was a serious decline of fighters and it was scrub fighter 4 that brought most of you newer guys into fighters. shit i know people good in ssf4 that have never touched any fighter but sf4.

XIII should have good sales over time, it's just a matter of whether SNK can keep things together for as long as it takes for word of mouth to spread, since the release is wedged between enough big titles that it'll probably not have huge initial sales.

Not using Play Asia cuz I live in the country - my pre-order is with the Japanese equivalent of a game-stop.

i'm pretty sure we all hope it sells well but since we are in the fourth quarter of the year a lot of people who may have wanted to pick up the game might pass on it for a game they want more. KOF can definitely compare to SF in terms of gameplay, since i think XIII is a better game than sf4 (this coming from a sf player). It just doesn't have nearly as big a scene following it.
