Everybody knows Terry and Ryo are the real KOF heroes.

You make a good case as they're forgotten too often and how awesome they've always been, but I like something about everyone who's been named a hero in KOF. Really curious as to who the next one will be, if there's a preceeding story after XIII.

Next KOF hero will be another flame wielder, as if KOF doesn't have enough of those already.

They've had an arrogant delinquent school boy, emo with a tight ass leather suit, girly boy in a tight ass leather suit...

Next hero will take a page from Iori's book and look like some Japanese Rock Star shit and be even more of an asshole that Iori already is.

Well... The KOF main characters were reflected off the japanese trends during the time of their creations.

I'm tired of explaining to terrible morons that Iori's design couldn't be an emo's because at the time they didn't exist, the clothing is inspired, hello, themes, everything is about style, the character's personality has nothing to do with it. Like some 1930 retards would think that Kyo is gay because he uses semi-long hair, and he punches your face in. Btw K' isn't emo.

If you think that they could put an ultra asshole Shen Woo-like character as hero, you know nothing about KOF.

Problem with Iori was that SNK didn't keep his desing fresh until XII. Also his moveset needed something new.

the real heroes are geese and yamazaki, without people like us you don't have anybody to point your fucking finger to and say that's the BAD guy. last time you see bad guys like us. i actually liked using characters that fit my style and who make sense (and cents and dollaz). person that kills for the highest bidder, check, person who runs the town but is no police chef or mayor, check.

at least you guys have enough characters left you like, all my favourites are bad asses not in 13. now we got bad guys like ash and even iori who in the end even turned good. i don't want no fake bad guys in my kof if the real ones ain't there. who else can curbstomp your teeth out with 1 hand in his pocket rocking a wicked smile from ear to ear cause he's thoroughly enjoying killing your ass in the most brutal way possible?

I think that KOF doesn't necessarily need new characters, if the new story is about Kensou's mystical powers and Ron. Instead SNKP should concentrate bringing some characters back (Momoko for example) or newcomers from other franchises (Bob Wilson damnit!)

Hero in KOF is Kyo. It always has been him. In all sagas.

Terry and Ryo (as well as Mai, King, Yuri, Kim, Athena, Clark and Ralf, Andy, Joe, Robert, etc) are BASIC ones. KOF started as a crossover between SNK titles, mainly FF and AoF. So these characters are the base of KOF, the participants who give popularity and visibility to KOF. Those which everybody wants to see the tournament (I'm talking from a story point of view). They are not really related to Orochi, tresures, power, etc. but they are famous. And they are always there, like some kind of champions of KOF. Specially Terry and Ryo, since they are main characters of FF and AoF.

Iori and K', even Ash, are the typical guys who started as enemies and then became something more. But they have the same profile. Cool, handsome, hating everyone, ignoring everything. Ash is a bit different because he looks girly, but is the same character profile after all.

I see them as this:
Iori = Going to kill everybody
K = I don't care about anyone (secretly I care)
Ash = I'm not going to hit you *hits the oppoent* Oops, I did!

That is basically their personalities. lol
