The Villain

Whats Going on Everybody as you see Im new here and also new to this game.

This is my First KOF and what made me get this game was Vice (Her playstyle gets me hype!.)
Im not really coming from any main community because Ive played alot of fighting games at a high level but my main fighting games were SSF4 and MK..

Because of this Im a quick learner, and well aware of how important spacing, execution, and etc. are But I have to say that this is THE most Technical Fighting game Ive played.(Maybe more technical than Guilty Gear). Im willing to get into it and make this my main game.

The motions in this game is wild though lol (In a good way)..I look through the forums and read up on alot of stuff and Im afraid I cant really start until I understand the Notations. Im a Xbox player and I play on pad and although I get what some notations are I need to know all of them just to make sure Im not doing anything wrong. I see 2134B (just named random numbers) an be like WTF? lol..

As of right now Im learning my basics and my BnB combos in the lab, not really worrying on combos that need meter yet because I want to see what my character can do without meter..I have no official Team yet..My only Character Im sure of is Vice...(And maybe King). Well thats it for now.. Im willing to learn as much as I can

Welcome to DC!  :)

Numerical notation is based on the layout of a numberpad on a keyboard. (2 = straight down, 4 = back, 6 = forward, 8 = straight up). In communities for Tekken, Soul Calibur and Guilty Gear it's the standard (from what I understand). It still gives me a headache.  ;)

Usually, KOF players just use qcf, hcb, dp and that sort of thing. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Everyone has to learn notations somewhere.

BioBooster

Welcome!

You'll probably also see notation like:
s.D >(standing D attack - strong kick button)
j.D >(jump version of the same)
df.B >(down forward B attack - weak kick button)

and so on on the threads. Hope that helps as well.
