KOF XIII 9th General Thread: New Year, New EVO, New Challenges in 2013

Yeah, those grand finals were insane. That was pretty much an Evo grand finals for me because the level of play was so intense.

I'm disappointed that neither BALA nor Koopa can attend Evo this year. I know BALA had visa issues or something but Koopa would have been a nice substitute and a favorite to win the tournament or at least get top 8. I have no idea who's making top 8 this year since the competition is heavily concentrated this year than last year. There's a lot of wild cards this year and I'm expecting a lot of unexpected results and upsets.

A friend and I are going to try to record as many of the non-streamed pool play so if you guys see someone with a monopod and camera please make room. lol

just wanted to say that if you missed the Team Lago tournament, check the archives. Some extremely hype matches and the grand finals were insane. I'm not sure if this was described anywhere, but day 1 was the complete tournament and day 2 was all personal matches. Good games all around.

Agree, best moment Bala with Ryo parry a CD blowback of Karate and punish it. Gorgeous. This EVO would be serious entertainment again.

After that Team Lago, there is DEFINITELY a lot of cool stuff to look forward to. So now it is time to get hype for more KOFXIII - it is literally just around the corner.

Holy shit. KOF XIII is now second at 12:00pm pst on Sunday. Smash can't be streamed thanks to Nintendo.

10 hours of KOF XIII pools will be streamed on Saturday. Hot damn!

Now Persona 4 will be the first game on Sunday. Good for those guys. Oh wait, Lord Knight can't play in Top 8 because he's set to leave Sunday morning at 7. That sucks hard balls. Nintendo ruining two tournaments with one stone.

Hopefully, any top 8 KOF players don't have any time-conflicts like that.

My favorite matches from today was Polly vs Dave-0, Fox vs MadKOF, and Fox vs TC Yoshi. Top 8/Grand finals will be hype tomorrow morning.

My favorites were the Haregoro match in pools (can't remember who he was playing against) and Mr. KOF vs. Pao Yen Ren in both winners and losers brackets.

There were lots of other excellent matches, but those three are the ones that stand out in my mind.

My favorite match was probably Ren with his Athena. Really wanted to he him styling with Athena in Top 8. Next to that was Fox vs Yoshi.
