I'm new but I want to say:

Southtown is amazing and I will continue to support them as much as I can.
Freeplay is not as motivating as having to pay for your loses.
Fuck bringing your arcade stick from home; use the cab (regarding Marvel, and KoF in the future).

I'll be at Southtown tomorrow practicing. Thanks to everyone for their efforts in building the community.

I'll support STA as they are great and have been there since the beginning. I don't think there's anything wrong with what Reiki's doing helping spread KOF, wherever it's available.

As for playing on cabs, I think players should use what they're comfortable with. The Marvel setups had been notorious for having issues, people elbow bumping, mashing on start button right next to HP, unresponsive joysticks, etc. I want to play people at their best, with no excuses like "the joystick was messed up/uncomfortable".

Yeah but you know people who aren't already playing something probably aren't gonna start because we came through. If they did...I dunno I kinda feel like they'd just end up being free anyway lol.

You might see me Friday or Saturday. It's not a tournament for KoF this weekend so it might be a bit skimpy in terms of competition, but we'll try to give you a good fight!

@Tone The starbase crew was saying that there is a KOF13 in the northbay, Not to sure where it is. Hit them up and they would know.

Might be rohnert park scandia... and if that's the case, id rather just go to southtown, since the distance is pretty much the same.

So, since we were talking about improving, I feel we should be trying new things out. If we man a machine and another person from our group wants to play, we should spend atleast a game seeing if some of the theoretical stuff we've been working on actually works. Learning new combos is a part of that, but I mean learning different ways to approach the game. Like for example, some Terry players are developing a guard crush tactic to make use of his crackshoot frame trap. That's not new, but it's something to consider instead of fishing for combos or throwing fireballs for neutral game.

For me, I have some ideas and develop them, but I usually stick to my patterns I know works until I see it work in some instance. Then I develop confidence in that option. There's plenty we haven't tried yet with our characters that could be useful to branch out into that if given an option to try out against another human, we could do it.

With SCR coming up, the competition we're going to face is well and beyond where we're at right now. I think this is the time to break out of the norm and try new things so we're not as susceptible to higher level players.
