Kof 98 Collision Boxes (aka Hitboxes)
« on: December 29, 2010, 12:31:28 AM »
Here to start my next little project and help the kof scene a little.

To view these inside the emulator the debug dipswitch for most kof games is

debug 1: 01000000 = 0x40

About a color Legend
A lot of the colors are shared and situational so making a legend will take time.

Note
If any my pics are down it most likely is that I am rearranging or Photobucket is down.

When it comes to Iori's specials and desperation moves the hit boxes don't change if you use C instead A just the damage output, distance traveled, and speed is changed.

Great working indeed.

Are you willing to do it for all characters and all their moves?

Also, can you put a legend on what the colours mean

I plan on doing all/most of the characters

I should note why Iori has no other specials displayed (aka the hitboxes are the same).

Also some of the hitboxes may be harder to see due to sprites/effects covering them up.

As for the legend I might do it but read the first post on why(since I edited it so many times)

Question, is there a way to video record the characters with the hitboxes in action? I like the pictures, no question, but I wouldn't mind seeing the animations too.

Ok I got an idea. Should i keep doing it one character at a time or should I do all the normals first for every character then look at a move list for more of the specials and DMs?

Complete 1 character at one time.

Also, make sure that you check all move available EG: Kyo has air d+C

Other characters vertical attacks are different from the arcing attacks (both while jumping)

Would still be good to get an idea of what the colours or boxes mean...Especially on the body to indicate which parts are invincible and what isnt etc.

I'll explain why its so hard you see that there is to of the same color on both characters on is a body box whil the other is an attack but they're are a few that are definite.

White = A regular normal

Lime Green = the head in idle animation

Purple is either a throw box, fire box, or it can be an air body box there can be more uses for this color since i only looked at a few characters so far.
