I'm 19 (though everyone says I look a lot older) and I've been playing fighting games with people since 2008. I started playing VF5 with the few people in Norcal that were playing it at the time, but that was rather short lived (thanks SF4!). Luckily, I was already learning Guilty Gear, so I played that and Blazblue instead. I still play Guilty Gear, but I got tired of Blazblue after about a year.

I've always had a passing interest in KOF (since I have always really liked MOTW) but never really tried to learn it until about 7 months ago, when I bought 98UM to practice for 98 on GGPO. This was all, of course, in preparation for 13, which I think has potential to be the game that puts KOF on the map in the US. I would personally like to see 13 as an official game at NCR, and I'm going to do everything I can to make that happen. There is a bit of interest from the anime players in Norcal, but I'm still discussing whether or not having 13 at Norcal Install (monthly GG/MB/BB/AH tournament) is a good idea.

My KOF fundamentals are rather weak, but I see 13 as a chance to change that.

I guess since it's inevitably going to be asked, here's a list of my mains:

VF5: Jacky, Aoi, Eileen
GGAC: Johnny, ABA
BBCS: Hakumen, Jin
AH3: Time Kamui, Wind Kamui
T6: Miguel, Julia, Bob
ST: Cammy, Ken, Claw, Deejay
CVS2: K Cammy/Kyo/Rock, K Maki/Hibiki/Geese
MOTW: Grant, Rock, Kain, Terry
98: Terry/Shermie/Vice
02um: K' + random select (haven't really practiced it much)
NGBC: Mai/Shermie, Mudman/Mai
13: I plan to learn most if not all of the roster, but I think my ratio team will be Andy/King/Vice

As for what I do outside of fighting games: I play other games too :P. I love exploring the libraries of older consoles. I do get outdoors too, as I've recently taken up biking. And uh, I like a lot of different kinds of music, but if I had to name a favorite genre I guess it would be industrial. Any questions?

You do play a lot of fighting games, curious to see how you feel KOF in general stacks up to the rest.  '98UM/'98 is definitely a great place to start for the fundamentals an '02(UM) helps you learn the timing for cancels.

Also, the ratio thing for XIII is all relative to the arcade, I think we should also correct that in the wiki since it's misleading.  In case you missed it, it was designed to encouraged players to use less used characters so "spice" up the gameplay and keep it fresh (Ironically, Raiden would be considered a less used character along with K' in AI now lol).

Lastly, let us know how you like XIII as soon as you get a couple more hours under your belt.

Oh no, I understand that ratio is not designed to balance the game, but to promote roster diversity. It's everyone else that I have to explain it to, lol.

I wouldn't even bother bring up the ratio subject until 1 or 2 tourneys later (AND you guys are bored of seeing the same characters, if not just have fun with it).
