Yeah, I think that was exactly SNKP purpose when they made her sprite, and I must say is coherent with kunoichi concept (it said they used their femenine atributes to distract male combatans). The funny thing about Mai is that she acts like she didn't realize that she is showing too much skin, something that embarrasses Andy.

I don't think it's ever been hinted at. I looked at the SNK wiki to see if her real name would be there and it wasn't :/

I asked myself many times the same question. I think SNKP is so used to her nickname that they forgot she should have a normal name. I don't why but Anne sounds good to me for her.
