Posting this here since it can be used in any KoF game.

You know this really bugged me ever since I saw this. How can you cancel Leona's, say, instant j.D into V-Slasher? Whenever I try this, I always either end up doing nothing after the overhead or I don't even jump high enough to pull out the straight j.D, yet I can use either one on standalone just fine. I also have trouble trying to pull this off with j.A. Is there a trick or shortcut I need to do or is it really just a matter of dexterity?

Easiest way, to me:

d,df,f,u+D,d,db,b+P

Make sure you hold up long enough to get a jump, because it doesn't work with a hop.

For the j.A version in XIII, I like qcf,uf+A,df,b+P.

Kane mentioned some other input methods in the XIII Leona thread.

Oh there's my problem. I was doing hcb instead of a qcb. That does make it easier. It's still inconsistent though especially since I still have trouble checking if I got a high jump instead of a hop, or accidentally input uf instead. =/

Yeah, the qcf,hcb input can be shortcut as qcf,qcb or qcf,df,b in pretty much every meaningful KOF, which usually helps with faster inputs for supercanceling or situations like this.

No need to check.  If you got a hop, you can't cancel it anyway (and there are worse things you can do than nh.D with Leona).

This is 100% of why I like that you can instant overhead reliably with j.A in XIII.  Doing qcf,u without hitting uf is stupid kinds of awkward until you get really used to it, and I've been putting off learning how to do it again for exactly that reason *laughs* .

Not true, you will get a jump ;d if you hop straight up.
