Random tidbit but even though I'm pretty sure the combo maker wants 999 damage because the number looks nice, there could also be a chance that he does that amount of damage thinking that the opponent would have one last pixel of health but the truth is that 1000 damage combos does NOT KO the opponent. The damage has to be over 1000.

Yep, they're still alive. I'm pretty sure many combo makers don't know this since there's many combos that they do that is exactly 1000 damage. I was doing a 1000 damage combo in VS mode just to find out the opponent refuses to be KOed.
