Stun Fang + Spin Heel follow does more damage than Crab Clutch. It can also be used in BC combos like b~f+D, qcf+A SC to A,A,f/b,B,C (S)DM or b~f+D, qcf+A, dp+B [1 hit] SC to qcf,hcb+C DM. The advantage to Crab Clutch is that it gives much better recovery allowing you to pressure your opponent on wakeup (midscreen only, in the corner Spin Heel will give you plenty of time since you recover right next to them).

It's worse startup and recovery, the only benefit is the juggle.

Billy's f+A was nerfed a bit, the recovery is worse (not by too much, but you can't link c.C afterwards anymore) and the hitbox on the first hit is smaller (whiffs if you are too close). He got buffs too though, he can combo better after dp+B (hcb+A midscreen, DM in the corner), a new AA special that gives a free juggle and a new AA DM. He can also now super cancel off any hit of qcb+D rather than just the first one. He's still good, it's just that other chars got better.

The third input of his qcb+A rekka is the one that looks like f+B. There's no way to get it from the qcb+C rekkas.

Her basic combos are c.B, c.B, c.A, d~u+C and j.X, s.D [1], rdp+K, s.D [2], f+B, V-Slasher. You can combo into V-Slasher from a j.CD counter hit, or supercancel it from b~f+D.f+D.

I guess the main thing to consider is meter usage. First slot should go to a character that is either good without meter, good at building meter, or good at pressuring the opponent without worrying about their defensive meter options. Last slot is for characters that need meter to be effective, whether it's through damage, defense or shutting down options.

A good example would be K' or Kula in the first position as they build good meter and don't need to use it to do decent damage. Their pressure is also much more effective when the opponent doesn't have excess stocks to guard cancel roll through things. A character you see in final position is often is Kasumi, because people want to land that HSDM and they need the stock for it.

Some chars can play any position while others excel at a specific roll. imho Leona should be a second or third character, just so you have enough meter to have V-Slasher on demand when you need it.

btw people sometimes refer to first char as "battery" and last char as "anchor".

Mmm this is something that was present in XII and doesn't seem to have changed at all in XIII unfortunately. Crossups often act really glitchy like that, it's quite annoying.

I noticed in some combo videos that Xiangfei can start her A+C DM with the shoulder ram. How is this possible?

Also, why is Vanessa a "0" on the list?

I'm pretty sure they just whiff the first two parts of the DM incredibly fast to get to the shoulder as fast as possible. There's basically no minimum time to cancel into the next part of the DM.

Vanessa is low-tier because she got nerfed really hard from OG2k2 while pretty much every other char got buffed (and she wasn't exactly high-tier in that). No teleport cancel from hcf+P (kills her infinite/strongest combos), c.D not cancellable, increased recovery on dp+A and b~f+P (limits combo and reset options).

FBA-RR simply refuses to work for a lot of people, crashing all the time using a variety of bios and kof rom files. It's not as user friendly, but I'd recommend MAMR-RR if you can't get it to work.
