I'm just pissed at myself, When I got home from work I didn't see it on the PSN. I even searched for it and nothing came up for the Station or the games. Maybe I looked to early.
I'll definately be picking up SamSho and most likely 94.

SNK Games / Anyone try out any NeoGeo Station games?

Anyone try these yet...especially online? When I got home yesterday I didn't see the NGS on the PSN but I guess it was released, guess I failed last night lol. Anyway, gonna check it out when I get off work tonight, just curious of any reviews about the online and the emulation.

I guess I never really had problems with this. I mean, I would use a character for a couple days then switch to another, etc. With games I spent alot of time with I would, of course, have my favorites to play/prefer but I wouldn't only just play 1 or 2 characters. I also never had a hard time game hopping....I would play 3s for a couple hours and hop on over to MvC2 for a couple, then bounce over to SamSho 4, and then to CvS2. For me it was just a different frame of mind when sitting at each game.
It could also be when I was younger I spent WAY too much time at the arcade...everyday after work and all weekend long....I miss those days lol.

Aviable on december 9th for PS3 and PC.
I have 2 preordered. My wife plays KoF better with these pads and I find them as good as a stick and more portable. I pray I'll be bringing one to EVO 2011.
I was curious as to where you ordered yours from. I missed out on the ps2 one
But i wouldn't mind picking this up for the ps3.

Haha, awesome. I was gonna grab SamSho and maybe KoF for the hell of it...I just hope the netcode is good on these.

Social Club / "Who is your main"

I don't know if I put this in the right forum, if not I appologize.
After being gone from fighting games for about 8 years some things seem really weird and foreign to me. The whole "who is your main" or "i only play XX game cus I main it" confuses me.
I never thought that I would only play 1 or 2 characters and thats it. I would always try most of them out...of course I would have my favorites but I need to switch it up. Playing only one character is boring. Plus, actually playing all the characters really lets you know what to expect fighting them...and build strats against them.
Also "maining" a game..I could not do that, I would play some more then others, but variety is a spice of life! Before I quit, I played SF3:3s mostly, but would play/tourney CvS2, MvC2...and play the hell out of Garou, SamSho 2/4, whichever KOF was good at the time SvC:Chaos.
Maybe I'm just weird thinkin this way.

« on: December 21, 2010, 07:34:39 PM »Welcome again. There's a bunch of us that are that age so don't worry about it; it's like muscle memory, it'll all come back to as long as you have some completion to play against.
With me moving to Atlanta a couple years back and not seeing any arcades here, comp is hard to come by. That's why im hoping that KofXIII will have some good netcode. It might make or break my coming back to fighting games. I think I'm just gonna mess with 2002 on ggpo until it comes out. And probably pick up some classics for the hell of it on NeoGeo Station.
I originally got back because of the hype of SSFIV....but I guess I'm in the majority that thinks that the game is just trash...including the look of it.
Also the scene seems to be really different now...all this talk of "who is your main" and "what game is your main". Back in the day, if a game was good you would play it, multiple games...and, at least me and my friends, would play all the characters. I dunno, I should start a topic on it cus it is weird to me.

Can't wait for this game to get released....got the PS3 for SSF4 cus of the hype (i was big into 3s back in the day), and I just think think that game is trash. Coming back, I've gone full steam back into KOF (with some SamSho and Garou mixed in).
Hey what's up Dark Geist, I'm an old timer myself been playing KOF since I was 14 back in '94. Make sure you introduce yourself (but I suppose you could just c&p this post) over at the Meet and Greet.
I went ahead and posted there.
On topic though, I am glad too see that the majority will be playin on the PS3, the more the better.

Guess I should intorduce myself.
I am a returning FG player, played hard core back in Vegas (in ATL, GA now) for a alot of years...3s, MvC2, and CvS2 (thats what was being played competitively). But I did have a couple friends who would play Samsho, KOF's, Garou, and SvC Chaos (yeah I know its not great but was still fun).
In coming back I've realized that I really did like the SNK games more, but with the arcades being the way to really play against others/tourneys you were at the mercy of the crowds. Now with all this online play I'm going to give it a shot at coming back and playing my lovely SNK games. Can't wait for the release of KoF XIII. I may not have the finger dexterity as I used to....us old guys lol...but I got the strats.
Anyway, I been messing around on GGPO (using my new PS3 R2 TE stick), but feel sooo rusty. My mind knows what to do but my 8 years of rust stop the hands from always doing it lol. If there are any people that are willing to help the elderly get back into it, let me know lol. Ok, im not that old, just 31 lol.
