Anyone else excited? I'm loving the way it's looking, and loving Daisuke Ishiwatari being involved again.

Online Matchmaking / DC KOF XIII Online Tournament (4-27-2013)
« on: April 03, 2013, 04:54:28 AM »

What - An online matchmaking casual tournament event for KoF XIII Online. It will be FT10 (4 points), FT7 (3 points), or FT5 (2 points) matchings (optional FT3 [1 point] are optional in case the connection isn't stable enough from the beginning). All players will agree at the beginning of the match on # of matches. In case connections become totally unplayable, matches will be reduced to when both players agree to stop (example: a FT10 can turn into a FT5 or FT3 if it becomes unplayable). All players wins will be tallied, ranked and posted at the end. It is recommended you try to play as many different people as possible, but you are allowed to rematch with previous opponents.

When - April 27th (Saturday) starting for North America at 1:00 PM PST, 2:00 PM MT, 3:00 PM CST, or 4:00 PM EST.  There is no penalty for being late, but of course it's better to be on time go get more action in. The tourney typically lasts 3 hours, but can go on longer if participants are still amped.

Why - The KOF community is growing around the country, and around the world, and online is a big component in getting players, newcomers and vets, into the fold. The more players we have, the merrier, and the stronger we become.

Who - Anybody! Doesn't even have to be DC members. Play anyone you like. Invite them to DC or chat with them wherever. Doesn't matter who is playing so long as people PLAY!

Where - Games will be played on PSN/XBL (obviously) but players are encouraged to meet up in the Main KOF 13 Online Chat Lobby. If you cannot make it there (or really prefer other means) then use PSN chats or XBL parties. Skype is an option, however I do recommend doing as LITTLE on your internet connection as humanly possible in order to have a more solid, stable, online experience. Remember to do WIRED in as well: wireless NOT recommneded!

How - Fill out the following form:

PSN/XBL Handle:
Location:
Speedtest.net/Pingtest.net results (Connect to a server FARTHEST away from your own connection!)
Most played team:
Matchups you want more experience against(optional):

PSN: Seizonsha51
Location: Japan

Most played team: Kim, Ryo, Andy, Terry, Hwa, Kensou, Billy, Chin, Takuma
Matchups I want more experience with: everyone

To add to the Matchmaking, here are more DC online resources to be aware of.

Blue/Green Bar Search Connection List for keeping up with best connections out there.

Good Games Shoutout Thread in case you don't want to leave feedback here.

The Ultimate Opponent Lookup in the Netplay Wiki to see who's in your part of the country/world.

Don't forget to SAVE MATCH REPLAYS if you have some good ones to share!

Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Just curious where most people look for XIII events and such.

And do you have a preference or suggestion for keeping up with events?

A new thread for a new year.

Hopefully those talking about the V-1 tournament don't mind continuing the conversation here.

This is probably the best time to ask a few things I've wanted to:

If you're looking for gatherings, tournaments, or streams for KOF, do you check out the resources on DC? The calendars (forum and frontpage) for example.

And made a list for new years resolutions/attempts of things I want to do this year for KOF, and I hope others contribute to:

 -KOF-exclusive casts
 -KOF-exclusive stream
 -KOF XIII character-specific vids
-Online gatherings (yeah, it's not optimal like I want it to be, but it's not terrible for everyone, and it's all some have)
-More KOF information in wikis and forums
-More discussion about the game in-general (gameplay) on forums instead of complaining about it and only using it for comparison to shit on or prop up other games.

Even if it's just playing KOF more often or going to EVO, anyone else have a KOF resolution for themselves for 2013?

Online Matchmaking / DC KOF XIII Online Tournament (1/19/2013)
« on: January 11, 2013, 04:57:42 AM »

It's a new year, and time to keep the challenges up with KOF online tournaments in XIII. The first will be on Jan 19th.

When - January 19th (Saturday) starting for North America at 1:00 PM PST, 2:00 PM MT, 3:00 PM CST, or 4:00 PM EST.

Here's a list of upcoming KOF events posted on other sites. The links posted here will be the place(s) to comment or ask questions about the event, not on DC; if an organizer posts his/her thread on DC, then it will be taken down from this thrad. This list will be updated daily with new, upcoming events, so check it often if you can. If you hear about other events featuring KOF XIII not posted on DC, please PM me with info and a listing. Note: If listings disappear from here, check the main Tournaments and Events page as someone may have made an individual thread for an event.
