While I don't think 10/25 is solid, 11/23 isn't that sensible a date, and would be after Europe, which I just don't see happening period.

I still don't get why people are expecting news from SNKP about the netcode, unless is GGPO I don't know any other netcode, so is obvious that their information will be ''yeah this netcode will gonna kick ass, is amazing''

Blazblue/Arcana style netcode is really very good also.  if SNK gives us that I'll be very happy.

I thought about it, actually; I kinda took it as "this is just Fersis being PS3sis", ha. I always think of that thread as "everyone should know better than this by now!", but that's not always dependable... if it comes up again, it'll be clear-up time! For the sake of new faces, especially.

Oh, and for some reason... Siliconera decided to talk about KoF XIII's replay options!
Share Replays with the world... if you're good enough!

Indeed, every time I see some of the people reply (even the ones that post there frequently. They keep saying the load times are long, even if Atlus/RSG/SNKP have stated several times they will not be that long and after seen such fast loading times from the SonicTempest PAX Videos. Oh well... I wish I could post there again, but still puzzled why I got banned. =/

Regarding the Replay Options, it sound like how SF4 did it before the Replay Channel was added. I hope SNKP keeps the replay mode from XII, it was awesome to share replays of any match I had.

GAF's a huge place, there's always going to be some folks spreading stuff that isn't true.

All I know is I stopwatched the between-rounds on that youtube video and got about 1.5 seconds.  I consider 2 seconds for between rounds to be acceptable, as that's what SSFII on SNES had.

I'm just glad the optimized netcode is something RSG is advertising, it's showing that SNK knows it's important, and isn't just paying lip service- I think they are actually trying to do something at least.

Has SNK said anything yet about patching balance post-release if necessary?  I think things should be fine, but you never know, especially with new characters.

i still would like a spectator mode i dont want it to be like marvel 3 where i have to sit and look at boncing cards for 2 minutes especially if there are 8 people in the room

According to some really old info I remember reading, rooms are limited to 2 people, so you won't be waiting.

This is order to improve the netcode as well.

I agree with SAB that we shouldn't declare the characters overpowered- that's not my intent.

My concern/intent is that we have a plan in case they are.  There's evidence that they could be, at least in the case of EX Iori.  This way we don't have ugliness later, which is what I'm really afraid could happen.

I'm kinda' meh about it. I do share Arstal's concern too. I mean, Iori with Rekka's has almost always placed high tier. Hell, Iori was upper high tier even in CVS2. The fundamental design of the character is pure figthing game rapeage. Now you're adding Mr. Karate, who's probably going to be better than Takuma, and Kyo with Rekka's and god knows what other improvements he might have.

I totally get why they're going this direction. It's cheaper, easier, and fulfills the fan hype. But hey, I was in favor of them headswapping Kyo in order to get Rock into the game.

I'm not saying high tier is sufficient for a ban.  I don't want confusion on that.

My worry is if these guys are let into the wild, and they're clearly broken, that we won't be able to put the "genie back into the bottle" without having the SRK crowd shit on the community and try to block KOF's inclusion into EVO.   If the SRK crowd was more intelligent and KOF's position was more secure in the American FGC I'd have fewer problems with experimentation, but I'm a little gunshy about it.

I'd trade banning Billy (who is one of my all-time favorite chars), if I knew that KOF would get a spot at EVO.  I think it's crucial that it gets in this year.

My other concerns, which are secondary, and may not be rational, is that they'll obsolete the regular version of Kyo/Ash/Iori/Takuma.  Also, I don't want to see DLC characters become standard unless they add something good to the game, since that is an extra charge for folks.  I think DLC chars do end up hurting a community in the long run, as it's an extra charge to play competitively, especially if you're not a mainstream community like SF or Soul Calibur.  This is a bad economy, and money's tight for some folks.  $65 is a higher charge then $50, and that might exclude some folks.  You can make the argument that if money's that tight you shouldn't be playing, but I think that's kinda a jerky thing to do/somewhat of a strawman.

I want KOF to thrive and be at EVO, I don't want to see it thrown into the ghetto like HDR was.

I'm disappointed and I have a concern.

SNK said these chars will be "strong".  I'm worried about what might happen to the competitive balance of the game if these chars are overpowered and tourney legal.  I'm worried about Saiki also, less so Billy.  I'm doubly worried because of the good work SNK has put into rebalancing this game- I don't want something silly ruining that.

Basically my concern is what if these chars are designed to be like Orochi Iori/Leona or a Serious Mr.karate  (not supposed to be balanced)?   My other concern is that if action isn't taken, and these characters prove to be problematic- trying to ban the characters may prove extremely difficult given the US community's attitude toward bans (there's a kneejerk anti-ban attitude among the Capcom crowd).

The LAST thing this community needs competitively is a banlist war.  I think we should have a community consensus beforehand on what the standards for the DLC chars (and Saiki's) inclusion should be, so we can avoid conflict later.  That's not saying we ban the characters beforehand, but that we come up with a consensus as to what should make the characters bannable.  I'd be interested to see what some of the community organizer types are thinking (I'm planning to try running some stuff myself should I be able to)

Also, should Billy have a different standard then the other characters?  (Here I'd say yes)

On the mash moves, how hard are they to perform in comparison to other SNK games?  I remember them being really easy in some KOFs, but really hard in the FF games.

Also, on HD/drive cancels, how hard are they compared to Hakumen special into special combos?

Looking for a good point of reference.

I'm just hoping that there won't be anything that causes a banlist debate- I'm hoping it's pretty clear whether any of the new chars need to be banned or not.

I think the best policy is to nerf the top tier

buff/nerf combo characters who aren't top tier, but have an over-reliance on really lame gimmicks (these chars are rare- SF4 Gen with his comboing and not a whole lot else might be a good example of such a character)

buff the lower-mid and below chars.

I didn't think this day would come, and I retired from SNK stuff, time to un-retire and learn how to troll again.

My requests:

a) GGPO.  Most important thing.  Failing that, Arc-netcode, which is just as good.

b) Second idea.  I don't think SNK can cram an arrange mode in time, but as DLC, an arrange mode would be awesome.  All I'd really think would be needed is this

K' damage nerf
Raiden dropkick nerf
buff up the low tier characters

My two wishes:

a) Best possible netcode so I can play this game without having to travel, which I don't have the opportunity to on the weekends due to work

b) More rebalancing, to improve the game- which then gets ported to the arcade.

As for extra chars: I'd love Billy to be in.

An extra I'd really, really love: the 98UM remix on the disc as a bonus.  I'd pay the full price for that alone.
