Thx, Rex Dart! I didn't know what it was called "guard cancel roll".  Didn't know anything about the guard cancel knockback either.  Sounds really useful!

Thanks for the info, guys!
bigvador, when I mentioned EX, I was talking about how you can "absorb" a hit and roll away by doing  ;bk ;a ;b
You lose and entire EX stock when you do it.  So, I was wondering if you'd be able to do that as you were landing and "Absorb" the projectile.

From what Demoninja says, I don't think that "absorbing" the projectile would even be an option.

It's a "no can defense" attack!  ;st

If you throw a light ground projectile (which doesn't knockdown) towards an opponent that is mid-air and they land on it, will it knockdown?  Would it be blockable?  As an option, the opponent would be able to roll out of it, at the expense of an EX bar, right?

Can you give me an example for hard knockdown  and soft knockdown?

Would a hard knockdowns be sweeps and throws?

Then, soft knockdowns be most EX moves, SRK's/anti-airs?

Thanks for the help, guys

I'm more familiar with SF and have found the ability to quick rise a good option to have.  Was wondering if KoF has anything similar.  I'm pretty new, so I have a bunch of seemingly random questions (this being one lol)

Thanks  :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I look forward to getting better at this game and playing some good matches.

Mr. Kof - I've seen some of your matches on youtube!  Good stuff.  I use them as a reference on how to play Terry.

Zero Ping, I think it was. No, I haven't been there.  I'm not too far from there though.  I was in touch with one of the guys that used to go there back when I started playing SF4.  I just wasn't If they start playing XIII over there, I'll be more inclined to go.  Have you been there dopenhagen?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to KOF.  I'm looking to learn and not be a scrub anymore  :) .  I've tried playing 2k2 on GGPO to learn....it's not going well though.

I've watched the tutorial on youtube several times and have been able to practice combos and such on the dreamcast version, but during actual play it's like nothing makes sense and I have no real control.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to XIII on console (360) and getting some good matches.
