i think we need to teach those who are more reliant on netplay, how to start building a community in their own areas.

i spoke with a dude from norcal who said he REALLY wanted to start playing kof, but the closest place where people play is STA which is an hour and a half away for him.

so this guy really needs to start something in his own backyard. so the question is:
how do we help guys like these find a more accessible group to play with?

i'm sure he's willing to hold sessions at his place, the issue is where to advertise so that people will see that this guy is holding sessions. what can we do to alleviate this problem?
this would mean a lot to me >_< im in norcal as well and i think about how i could get something going on locally just about every time i want to play some KoF... i just have no idea where to start and wonder if its even possible where i am...

its pretty much one of the situations that desmond described. im definately a shy and not very sociable person, but i dont see that as the problem and being around other gamers is probly one of the easiest things socially that i can imagine. im definately not scared to join in on anything. i just dont know of any FGC near me or even a single stray player of any FG, or even how to reach out to any if they exist.

im about 3 1/2 to 4 hours from STA and hoping to get my ass down there soon. maybe its cuz im further out and already really into KoF, but if i was just an hour and a half away i would be completely stoked! wow! that guy is in a way better situation than i am. get this guy playing asap!

hey reiki are fridays the best day to show up then? any other weekly days that are good? im pretty far up north from the bay area, so its gonna cost me. >_< wanna make the most out of my trips, id hate to show up on a bad day.

do you guys think taking bus or train would be better than driving down there? im about 4 hours up north i think.

Does anyone have capcom's arcade fightstick?

There is a button with 3 options at the top (LS, DP, RS). What are the differences between the three? Which one shall I use for XIII?

The stick should be set to "dp" (middle option) the other alternatives mess with the inputs. One i believe actually deactivates the stick (not the buttons), the other just delays everything.
can anyone comfirm if it does still mess with the inputs on PC? i use mine on PC sometimes and the only way for it to work on it is to set it to LS. i cant really tell since its usually not on fighting games, but the thought if it doing so bothers me regardless. =x

anybody else completely wowed over the way he got trinity geyser to get all 3 hits for a corner combo? sorry if im late to the party here but thats big news to me! i always thought the closest he could do it was 1/4 screen. that incredibly raises his damage output in the corner and the BnB versions are really easy to do.

keep holding down on the stick / pad when going into HD to cancel the slide immediately.

3 stocks 840 dmg

cr.B , cr.A , cr.C > [HD] > cr.C > qcf+A (optional) > qcb~db/f+A > [HDC] qcfx2+AC > qcb+A , qcb+B, d~u+C



4 stocks 940 dmg

his dp+C juggles are indeed his strongest 2 bar combo. i thought you could, but im not sure how to add dmg to it with extra stocks. maybe its just EX DM > max cancel. theres videos out there somewhere with his DP juggle.

for corner HD, it feels easier for me doing his typical corner juggles. starter > kuuha dan (brake) [ A zaneiken x2 > kuuha dan (brake) ] x3 > A zaneiken x2 > neomax

it does a bit less damage, 774 off a j.D. something like ~729 off cr.b, st.B, st.D
you can add EX zaneikens for more dmg, but i always just stick to 2 bars as well.

i didnt know about the HCB~F and that has helped me a lot learning that combo. full screen it sure feels a hell of a lot easier than doing A zaneiken > kuuha dan (brake) over and over.

i put liz on my team recently too. my point character is andy. there are plenty of good point characters to choose from. im not sure to who suggest. maybe king or andy?

a good battery will help but it doesnt make much difference if any without good meter management. andy is a great battery and i used to have that problem with my 2nd always coming out with nothing. i would blow way too much stocks on EX dp and EX fb and spend my drive when im about to get KOed. 2nd comes out with nothing, opponent heals up from the drive that was just spent.

that said, i think liz does very well in that crappy situation compared to other characters. she does good damage with little meter and builds it back up quickly too.

 i still have a real rough time against chin. it really bothers me how i cant wrap my head around this match up. especially using andy. seems like you really have to capitalize on lows as well because of the counter, but B/D chain whiffs almost every time... and connecting his cr.A > f.A feels really tight to land everytime online. and it also feels so hard to punish chins rolling punch. sometimes i lose to chin just from him spamming his rolling punch and its very humilating.  :(

elisabeths low cost HD combos are too weak. it is not worth it unless you use 3+ stocks for max cancel. a lot of times just going straight into EX DM > max cancel is enough to kill, but if you do 3 loops its aruond 993 dmg if you need the extra. it helps a 3 stock max cancel do solid enough damage. its a lot of work compared to the extra damage it gives, but its great to have it down.  i think the full screen loop is too hard to do in matches. props to anyone that has it down perfect. =p

 i dont see any reason to do the qcb.D though other than for flash. does it help time the dp.A juggle?

thanks for the write up on robert i really appreciate it. i didnt know i could punish his lightning leg at all i thought it was safe. i basically get abused by his classic fireball / lightning leg / divekick tactics that i can never seem to punish. ive been completely oblivious to this match up. do you know the min and max frames that divekick is - on block? divekick sometimes ive punished with cr. B, other times it seems like i cant.

i think the last hit of buster wolf whiffed, giving anywhere juggle property. i thought that only applied with EX version?

i think there are more practical corner HDs that also do a bit more damage. crimson king posted a 3 stock corner juggle HD using 1 EX knuckle / EX geyser for 839/743 dmg. you can also do other variations like 3 EX knuckle or 2 EX knuckle / 1 EX tackle for roughly the same damage.

for 4 bars corner HD you can get 919 / 843 using 3 EX knuckle / 1 EX tackle

Yet for some strange reason, I've managed to sometimes get the activation slide I need to do the combo. I don't get how this shit works whatsoever.

keep the stick / pad in neutral during activation for the slide. doing an input will cancel the slide early or as soon as it starts.
