Front Page:  I think the frontpage is well done.

Other pages: Same as above, I see no real issues here.

Wiki:  Last time I checked the wiki, it seemed to be updated.  I only checked KoF13 though, so I cannot speak for the other KoF wiki's on the site.

The Community: I have reached out here to help the community, but I barely get replies and when I do, I totally forgot about the said issue.  Not to mention, I don't have the funds to afford a stream setup or anything.  If I did, I would have gladly streamed my "stable" XBL matches with SoleChris, GameWizard, and Commonsense.  Forums are slowing down thanks to things like the Facebook group, but I do like the fact that we can have a FAQ on here so we don't get the same questions asked every few weeks.  As for events, possibly set it up similar to SRK and have the upcoming events at the top of the forum.  Then again, like Malik said, no one posts about it.

Is there trip guard in this game?  Was there really thing Oogosho could do against Mr Karate's J.CDs while crouching like a low tap combo?

Dunno if anyone replied yet but no there is no trip guard. BUT there is 1 frame where they can be hit when they land.

Lol bro thats trip guard.

A couple of K' combos by bubblan:

The 8CD starter is cool, but the 6A afterwards is not cool in an actual match, might as well just 2149+ ;b ;c then air 214 ;b ;d to get something going.  Cool concept though.

This is gonna be epic! Kaoru won the big tourney like last week as well.  Man, you really have to watch what you're doing against his Raiden.  Also, his reads with Daimon were FLAWLESS.  Nonetheless it was a great show.

-Hold weekly practice/teaching/casuals for KOF XIII. This is where you need to know the game more than anyone else. Bring your system, show off some good replays to them, and one thing that worked for me is uploading some tutorial vids I found online, like Dandy J's and showing those there. And show them the active difference between how you can play restrictively like SF, or how to take advantage of more of the systems.

-If there's a big tournament close to you that has KOF XIII, but you're short on funds, see if you can get a carpool going with a few guys. Pitch in, and as they're going for AE, MVC, etc., you go for KOF.

-Like choysauce mentioned, start up and keep a social network group going for KOF locals, facebook, twitter, something. Or keep up KOF content in the facebook group your local scene already has (Max playing KOF XIII, tournament from _________, etc.

And a question for you guys, is this a good enough place to talk about actual attempts at scenes and where they stand, or just ideas?

Right now, the only practice I get is online with some upstate people.  One in North Carolina and the other is in New York iirc.  3 and 4 bar connections and they are pretty good.

As for carpooling, I just did that not too long ago for KoF.  Both of my friends went for Marvel/VF primarily, and I went for KoF.

I have tried my best to help people/friends out here in AL, some just live too far out and we dont have good net down here so we're always lvl 2 connections(the bad 2 bars, some 2 bars are acceptable) so we never can play.  I thought about driving out to them to play, but IRL expenses really cut in to the gas money for said 45 min-hour and a half drives so I can never play with them.  Some people quit because I beat them with their own team in previous tournaments IN A WAY TO SHOW THEM WHAT THEIR CHARACTER CAN DO.  Instead of saying good stuff, one actually said "I can't keep up with you, I might as well give up."  I was like really?  Getting good is not a 1 week thing.  I grinded for weeks to get where I am and still do.  I have put in  OVER 300 hours on my console alone(one I do not bring to casuals) so that tells you how much I play KoF.  While playing these guys, they KNOW I am considered one of the better players in the Southeastern region and they dont really ask me for advice and always think I'm trolling them.  The other good guys in KoF in my state moved on to VF and Marvel because we basically scared off most people from KoF.  Now I have to expect out of state people to show up at tourneys to play anyone around here now, especially with Persona in the picture.

Guys if you think Mr. KARATE is a problem wait tell you play against a good Takuma, one slip from you and your dead! If he gets a counter hit he, he gets you into an ex Zanretsuken then you can say farewell to your character. Still I dont see that he needs a nerf.

I was talking about this to a lot of peeps at the last tourney I was at.  I think as of now, Takuma has top 3 best offenses on the game.  I mean, he can do 600 damage with 2(or even 1 and a half) bar and 50% drive in the corner from a fucking low and build most of the meter that he just spent RIGHT back when he finishes the combo.  Mr. Karate has good offense as well but Takuma trumps him thanks to command grab and anywhere juggle ex zanretsuken.

Yeah but the thing is that Takuma's normals aren't as good as Karate's & he NEEDS some meter to make things hurts whereas Karate just does what he does & you take good damage. Takuma definitely hits harder & can kill faster off of less resources but Karate has more versatility. And NO I do NOT think Mr. Karate needs a nerf at all.

Mr. K just has more safe pressure than Takuma.  As for bnb damage, Takuma's  ;c > ;fd ;b into cadillac, then followup with any normal is guaranteed 30% or more.  Mr.K doesn't clock damage like that unless he's near the corner while Takuma does 400+ in the corner with/without meter and has better reset options because of ex command grab being invincible and whatnot.  Mr.K's SJ cancels are good but once you figure them out then they are kinda done.  Remember grabs come out in one frame, you hit  ;c at a specific time in which if he does a j.D you will block it and if he tries to empty jump for a low it will get blown up.

Like KaneBlueriver told me, Karate is like Wesker, where until certain level he is really top, but if you go the extra mile, takuma/others mvc3 characters seems to be better

I was on the nerf karate bandwagon, but after a While, I realized that at top level he is not that godlike, I honestly found more heartbreaking to fight against a Shen or even Takuma than Karate

Very good comparison.  I have the most trouble with Takuma and Saiki at the moment.  I guess I don't have much Shen issues because I play him so I know his ins/outs/who he has hard times with/etc.

Today I don't see the cons of playing Kim (except the fact some char are overall a bit better), the char is really strong and quite unique in his style. He just doesn't have some tools such has command throw and long range invincible move, but he doesn't need them.

I'm more in this boat as of now. Any cons I have with Kim are pretty much my own problems as of now. His pressure game is among my favorite of the whole cast. Even with the higher-level players, they forget about a lot of his frame traps and advantages when they try to rush him down like every other character. I think of all the characters lacking projectiles, Kim's got the best rushdown, partly because more launch him forward so quickly and often.

Still having problems with Saiki, but I just have to use his tools better.

Saiki matchup is so bad for me too.  Up close it's not too bad, but long range can be a hassle.  Eventually, doing 236+ ;a in the air to get as close to the fireball without hitting it and staying outside of dp/super plays out and is pretty tough.

Here's a hint to fight vice... *whispers* rush her down...
vice's defense is bad? its her forte. just because you can beat 2 masher options in a specific situation doesnt mean anything. if you just jump and blindly do an air normal you can easily be trip guarded into full combo...or even easier, since its vice, she can just hit you out of the air and full combo...

Iori is probably her worst matchup along with characters with fireballs.  I played Vice for a good bit before dropping her.  Her mid screen yomi is good when there is no fireballs anywhere.  However, she can really put a hurting on some characters while getting shat on by some others.  My view on Vice's matchups from what I know:

Good or 5/5 Matchup:
Shen
EX Kyo
Kim
K'
Clark
Ralf
Duo Lon
Maxima
Yuri
Billy
Kyo
Ryo

Bad or 6/4 or worse:
Takuma
EX Iori
Claw Iori
Benimaru
Andy
Joe
Terry
Any other character with a really good fireball and DP

Dog, EX Shoulder/Mayhem is 14 frames and about half of it's invincible.  It can get safejumped by almost anyone in the game.  Stop hitting buttons and let Vice screw up.

Just doing raw Neo with Billy? I don't think that's good strategy but I think he's doing it because he has confidence in his Billy and he can take out the rest of their team without needing meter for his 2nd and 3rd characters.

Well I guess he did it because it was Yuri and he wanted to get more damage off of his confirm.  Instead of getting the 275 or whatever 2C into df+b does, he got about 550.  I still don't think it was worth it but he was in the life lead and Yuri had no meter so I guess he could get away with it.

Wolfgang Krauser plz.  Also, Rock and Geese Howard along with Butt and Gato from MOTW and perhaps freeman?  I would say both of Kim's sons but most likely they will change Kim's moveset if there is a KOFXIIIUM.

I dislike Vice. She's basically jCD into EX grab all day. And until I find a solid counter to that shit Clark I will continue to call her gimmicky ;) .

Here's a hint to fight vice... *whispers* rush her down...

Frame trap or do a move that + frame advantage on block, jump and do an air normal.  You will beat her CD most likely and if she tries to EX shoulder, it won't work.

I started to play Vice but her defense is so fucking terrible man, its worse than Claw Iori by far.  If she had her anti air whip from CvS(dunno if it was in previous KOF games) or even the slash kicks she would be so much better.

Those fancy HD combo's weren't what won mad_kof Evo.

His combos did hurt with Chin though, those dropped Chin HD's were about 600+ without a proper finish or super..
