Sorry the sprites are what they are. It would be too expensive to mess with them.

More then likely the load screen won't be changed.

I'm on the fence with Kensou. The XIII style takes a long time to get used to, but it has a lot of potential. Part of me welcomes the old moves, but I'm cautious about it since in all honesty you can get more work done with XIII Kensou then a '98 one. He's one of those I look forward to playing right away to make up my mind.

Both 98 and XIII are polar opposites from each other.  Missing his command grab (that has no animation in 98) and has better normals in 98 (ex. s.C+D,s.B,c.D,s.D). Watching the EVo build clearly shows his projectile is weaker in XIV compared to 98 . 98 fireball gave you positive frames, jaled and even at times can be used as an anti-air.  They took both kensous and combined them but left out the majority of what made kensou good in either of those games. Kensou is clearly incomplete, especially compared to the rest of the Physcho soldier team.

I think Polar opposites is a bit harsh. True rekkaing the HCF+P move changed properties drastically. Instead of looking for a high damage from the start Kensou tended to play safer, but dolled out less damage. However if you know what you are doing you can use the rekkas for the most part just like the 98 version (at least the LP version). It costs HD meter but you can even finish it the same.

As for the normals XIII Kensou works better from a medium range distance then '98 Kensou. It's true '98 is stronger and has more normal options up close, but Kensou's DP+P and the option of canceling Rekkas offset less normal options for the most part. Plus Kensou's Reverse DP+K is way more powerful in XIII then '98.

It's all in how you approach the character. It seems you don't like XIII Kensou compared to older style Kensou. If that's the case no matter what I explain is really going to matter because you have to understand what you got to appreciate it.

^ Some people are that anal retentive about testing on the same stage because certain stages have more/less distance then other stages.

Quote from: Custle on June 25, 2016, 09:02:41 AMJust for funs, what is the first thing you do when you get new KOF game? I play the arcade mode with Fatal Fury team first. I don't know why.

Fatal Fury team is a good testing team. Everybody knows pretty much how they will play and they are a good way to test the differences in the new title (i.e. speed, connecting combos, feel of hitboxes). Once you get a good grasp how the game feels then you can branch out into other players. If you watched the early streams of the Japanese players most of them were doing this with Kyo and Iori. We all got pissed because we all saw the same couple of characters, but they just wanted to get a feel of the game. I also do this with Ryu in every Street Fighter game.

Training Room / Re: Learning KOF on fightcade

I can though I will say learning '02 first is a bit rough online because of the many ways that game allows you to cheaply beat the crap out of your opponent. Personally I push '98 as a 1st time KOF game because it's simpler and less B.S. to deal with (mind you there's still B.S...... Just less of it). Though to each their own.

More then likely it's crossplay for PS4 - Steam or 3 Separate entities. There are rumors that companies can crossplay across consoles (at least Microsoft sounded open to the idea), but that sounded really far fetched. Considering Microsoft have shit on the FGC for a while now I just think Sony is the only company that's going to do anything here if they do.

Kinda curious why they would announce it on the xbox forum since the PS4 is going to be the one that would have possible cross platform play since they are using steam. Guessing PS4 was too busy? That and Microsoft wants to act like they give a crap about the FGC still.

Steady pressure doesn't wprk the greatest against King Lion since he has the counter. I mostly play Mizuchi or Goodman. Goodman, to me, is way easier then Mizuchi cause the trick to him is hitting him when he is going for the whip. If he doesn't get it off then the beast won't attack. Mizuchi is annoying. A full screen move seems to help since approaching him is a pain.

It's the straight up PS2 port. No online, and however good or bad it was in the first place. Since I have '00 on DC, AES, MVS, and PC (with fightcade playing it online I'm really not interested in something like that.

My hope is this is the test game for the netcode for KOF XIV and the netcode it going to be amazing. I just wish I wasn't so used to being disappointed.

Quote from: Shiranui_ninja on April 17, 2016, 08:37:36 PMDo not jugdge Mai for XIII, she is low tier there. I would judge her in other better KOFs like '97 or '98, and I would consider her as a solid mid-tier.

Actually in KOF XIII I would say she's a solid mid tier. She doesn't have the combos, true, but she more then makes up for it with agility. Her fans can match up with King's fireballs (except for the double super) just fine. Her pokes are the best in the game. Her CD attack in the air and ground is top tier, and her Neo Max is one of the few you can do raw and constantly connect just by judging the position of where the opponent jumps. If she had combos she would be completely broken with how easy you can set stuff up. The trick is if you prefer footsies if you like her or not.
