Don't play XII. The game is slower than other KOF games, and many mechanics were changed. For now, I would suggest playing KOF 2002 on GGPO, assuming your stick is compatible with PC.
My stick doesn't work on my laptop but it works on my friend's laptop just fine. I don't really get it to be honest... ~_~

Okay I will add you when I get the game. ^^ Although I have to say my internet isn't so great in the first place so online matches might not work too well. Nonetheless I'm still willing to try it. I will try to pick up a copy of KoF XII either this weekend or next.

Does KoF's gameplay resemble any other fighters out there? I have played a bit of Street Fighter (Third Strike and 4), BlazBlue, and Guilty Gear. What should I expect when I first start playing?

First off thank you for the answer!

I think I will try to get a copy of KoF XII for the PS3 mostly because that is the only system I have an arcade stick for. I heard from a lot of people that the game was a total flop. Why is that?

If I can find '98UM for cheap I might buy that but I would be stuck with a PS2 controller.

I watched a few of the KoF 13 videos on ArcadeIfinity's channel and the game looks really fun to play. I was looking through the games on the PSN and I noticed that it has KoF '99 for $6.99 and the KoF Collection, which comes with '94 - '98, for $19.99. Would '99 be a good place to start or should I shell out the extra cash to get the collection which comes with '98?
