Is there a trick to not getting V slasher when you're going for the EX cross thing?

I get V slasher like 80% of the time.

Found this yesterday, the EX kicks teleport sets up perfectly for cross ups using the falling sand.

That means the only options when under pressure are to block or to escape.  I think ultimately that's what's going to keep Bandeiras from being top.

His neutral is also not very good and his jump ins don't hit at the best angles for his floaty jump arc. I'm not really sure how this character gets in. Once you get going he's great but a lot of the time I feel like I just die trying to get in, feels kinda like playing ninja zangeif or something.

Found a guard crush setup off one bar if you're crazy enough to run him anchor.

Also compiled a video of all his random armor and invincibility moves you may not have expected:

You can punish blowbacks with a pretty safe bait using this. Also found a nice confirm / MAX combo with her.

2B 2B 2B 5A MAX > 2C 236B+D > 236A > 623A+C

Noticed the distance his command grab goes is different if you buffer it off run too. Real curious as to why they chose to do that.

I think it's a throwback to Hanzo from sam sho, his Izuna Drop did the same thing when you did it while running.

So apparently if you can charge while running with down forward. Not only does this let you do run up command grab, it actually gives you a different command grab animation!

Also, found a meaty cross up with his j.B after back throw. He can easily cross up crouching opponents with j.B but it's finnicky on standing opponents, unless set up on oki.

Also found if you space is slide to max distance it's even on block, so it's actually a pretty safe poke tool. Goes under fireballs too.

So you if you buffer in his command dash behind another move and hold the downforward and D, you have enough charge to cancel the dash into command grab. Not sure if the invincibility carries over but it's a lot faster than waiting for the dash to end. I buffered it into back dash in this video.

Also tacked on a max mode combo:

edit:

Made a quick video showing some of the ways you can mask the input buffer and get that down charge for the dash cancel. Some of them took a few tries but I haven't grinded the execution for it yet so bear with me lol

Notable ones are CD whiffed and sweep whiffed.

Duo Lon / Re: Duo Lon (Console)

Anyone watch BALA's Duo Lon against Mago this weekend at CEO?

I was there and was pretty impressed with some of the stuff he was doing. Think I even saw the CD rekka cross up off an air reset and some pretty crazy corner combos. I had the chance to ask him and he said he thinks Duo Lon should be played offensively moreso than defensively, so I suppose my defensive style with the character is kinda wacky.

Lot of sloppy stuff but overall a really good grand finals here if you guys are bored:

I actually agree with Kane about Duo Lon. His mixup is mostly transparent outside of CD > Rekka cross up on wakeup, but that can be avoided by simply rolling when you see the CD. Outside of that, all of his mixups are simple things that almost all characters have... staggered jabs and throws. His damage off 2 meters isn't bad, but his big problem is his neutral game not being particularly damaging and him dying HARD on wakeup to a lot of characters, so if you slip up and eat a j.CD or something, he really has to struggle to get his space and get momentum in his favor again.

He's pretty good at lame out and he has the best crouching jab in the game but I think that's really where his strengths end.

What would you guys say is his most consistent, reliable HD combo with 2 stocks?

Is there anything that works anywhere on screen or is it all corner?

Sie Kensou / Re: Sie Kensou (Console)
« on: April 09, 2012, 05:38:32 PM »
However, considering to really become good at this game you need to be able to be adept with no less than 6 characters,

What do you mean by that, out of curiosity?

I'll give you the stuff you said, but to me, Kensou's lame out really isn't just fireballs, I feel like most of his fighting is done at about the tip of his sweep range until he can get them to hold still for an A fireball, in which case he can run in and do mixups. Otherwise it's just looking for stuff to DP because IMO he has one of the best DPs in the game, since it's done from back, even if you can't get it out in time in response to short hops and stuff, you still block, so it's almost like an option select. That in itself eliminates a lot of the risk in going for a DP against jumpers. So if you eliminate their ability to jump, then they have to deal with Kensou's sweep, and most characters really don't have the pokes to compete with that, which leaves them to guessing short hops (and eating more DPs)

But yeah, A lot of characters DO have answers to fireballs, but there should be a kensou right behind the fireball when you throw one, and they may not have an answer to that when you're attacking in tandem with it. I don't think he's the kind of character you just throw fireballs with. Might as well play ash or saiki if you want to do that.

Anchor definitely isn't the optimized spot for him, but I think he can work it when he needs to. Second is probably... IMO, the best place for him. You'll have enough meter to do what you need to do but the opponent won't have so much of a surplus that it's a big issue for Kensou.
