Offline Matchmaking / Re: Dallas-Fort Worth Meetups
« on: February 20, 2012, 10:36:45 PM »
Hey guys, I may be able to host DFW players in KOF XIII. I live in Azle, which is on the other side of the DFW area, and, quite frankly, have no decent offline competition in both HDR and SFIV, so I am looking to expand my horizons.

Just call me at 214-881-7617 if you want to meet up.

That is what he does, but he makes sure that you are not hurt in the fall.  Trust me, I have been at it for four years, and I am just now getting to the point where I can knock out just one of his characters.

I like how a lot of people who don't know what in the heck is going on shooting their mouths off saying that the Peruvians won the tournament when there was no tournament.

It is like DG said, everybody had 7, count them 7, days to do three things.  1. Personal Matches, 2. Team Battle, 3. Tournament.  This was to properly rank three countries in KOF 2k2.  The Peruvians and their ft40 personal matches ate most of the clock, and not only that, but their special rule on the Round Robin AT BEST made the whole thing an exhibition between three countries.

The thing was to be a dry run on testing a standard method on ranking a country's skill, but if he has to be there to hold everybody's hand and make sure it gets done, then I am not even sure that it is even logistically possible for a World KOF Cup.

I have the same situation.  If I had remembered that DG was making the trip out here, I would have made the effort to come out and play.

Dune isn't going from what I have heard.

I spoke with Mago at ReveLAtions- He told me he would play KOFXI that's it. Mago seemed more 'shocked' by me like when I told him I'm Dark Geese at ReveLAtions when I was going to him (I said "Hey man I'm Dark Geese he was like "WHOOOAAAAAA".). It seems I may have my own Idol like status growing around the world it seems lol (Kula told me yesterday I'm very very famous in South Mexico which came as a shocker to me too lol, At Battle 4 Mexico 2010 I was shocked I was getting interviewed with Kula by people, people were taking pictures OF ME IN MEXICO WOW, and now a woman contacted me from South Mexico wanting to hook up because she knows me from the gamer guys in Mexico whoaaaaaaaaaaaa dude!!!!! LMAO).

Me RJ, Oscar, Mr. KOF and Reynald were laughing in the car going to get Japanese food because of all the comments I got from people coming up to say "It's an honor to meet you Dark Geese!" at ReveLAtions LOL REMEMBER THAT GUYS CLASSIC! LOL.

It's flattering it really is, I'm just doing what I want to do that's all guys! (I was even deferring to Mr. KOF like "That guys the real guy, he's stronger than me!")

Man that is classic.  I need to get my passport to enjoy that with you.

That reminds me, should I consider getting either Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, AOF or KOF 94 for the Bash?  I'm hopefully going to get some PSN cash so that I can get my games up to date for the Bash, and I would have some money left over to get a neo-geo game.

Site Suggestions and Troubleshooting / SNK Tournament Magazine

I don't know if this would be a good idea or not, but I would recommend the use of user contributed digital print media in both improving the quality of our community and to help report tournament results to people who would otherwise just forget about message boards in general.  Presented well, digital distribution magazines can be exciting and detailed as just posting text and match vids days later after a tournament.

Some details:

1. I want to take this to two languages, English and Spanish.

2. Each issue there will be a letter from someone important to the SNK scene, thanking them for their time and commitment to the community.

3. Each issue there will be a interview with a top player chronicling their rise in their chosen game.

4. Each issue will highlight some of the best SNK tournaments from around the globe(with pictures).

5. Finally, there will be a couple of user submitted articles about SNK games (NOT REVIEWS) depending on space available.

Target size per issue: 40 pages.

Been busy watching these videos and I must say that they are sick.  Sad to say that I will have to miss out on going to LA because I know that I will get in on some good action there.

Hello Game Fans, Sanji Himura here with a quick proposition for anyone interested in a mini vacation of sorts.

As you well know, three years ago, DFW was known as "Casual City", and never had any tournaments at the time.  Even when I was running the Fort Worth Classic then, no more than 30 players would show up at one tournament.

Which brings me to you gentlemen.  I am looking for tournament vets with tournament experience across the USA to come to DFW to show a thing a two to our local players and get them interested in playing competitively.

Benefits should you be interested:

- Free flight to and from DFW to your local airport.
- A place to rest your head for the weekend.
- A chance to work for a clear $50-100 or even more depending on how many tries a player may take at you.

Two things up front to keep in mind:

1. This is for US players only.
2. I have a limited selection of games.  Ask first on what I have so you can save weight on luggage.

Sounds good?  To sign up, just provide me with the following information:

- Name
- City, State
- Your tournament experience( Top 8s in your local tournament is good, but regionals are better for promotional purposes)
- Dates available in July

Think about it.
