General Discussion / Command Throw Speed
« on: January 24, 2012, 12:49:34 PM »
A few things I noticed when testing out the casts command throws:

Weirdness
Is Hwa Jai's Dragon Backbreaker really a 1 frame throw? The patch notes say so
* Weak Dragon Backbreaker is now a 1F throw instead of a leaping throw
but testing vs Kyo's B upkicks (-1 on block as far as i know), it cannot punish the move on block, you can jump out, WTF?

Coolness
Delayed but invincible grabs can do some fun stuff like anti-air jump ins as well as reversal a bunch of moves
I figured Daimon probably could do this with his kick command throw but didn't know Athena's command throw worked the same

Wakeup Invincibility?
Seems you are able to take actions for a few frames on wakeup while still remaining invincible. So grabs under a certain number of frames can just reversal anyone standing next to you trying to attack meaty on your wakeup
Tested with sweep into meaty EX DM with Athena in the corner. I Don't know if there is a way to get an even meatier attack than that?
For example Shen Woo's Ex Command Throw, despite not being a 1 frame grab can still grab her clean out of the DM. Regular command throw leads to Shen getting counter-hit

Anyone know a move that's -2 on block?
For the few moves that can punish Kyo D upkicks but can't punish B upkicks. They must be 2 or 3 frames, would be interested to know which

Data: Throws under 4 frames below
Throws not listed such as Kyo, Takuma etc are 4 frames or over
Normal throws seem to be 1 frame i.e. can punish B upkicks on block given the right timing/spacing. As far as I know that can be throw-broken though

Is the input lag issue on SF/Marvel on PS3 compared to 360 something that is across the board, or unique to Capcom games?

Basically
All games have at least 4 frames of input lag to begin with.

SF4: 1-2 frames less input lag on 360
Marvel 3: 0-1 frames less input lag on 360
Tekken 6: 0-1 frames less input lag on PS3
Virtua Fighter 5: negligible difference between consoles

so yeah, more of a Capcom issue. Would be interesting to have numbers for other games like KoF 12 or Blazblue.

Debatable how big a deal this is and other factors like TVs are way more of a problem for input lag anyway.
