s.B doesn't cancel but s.A does.

You should do the share the character method, that way you get much more play time in for the same cost.  When the line gets to 9+, I'll share a character with Jon, RJ, Reynald, Duc or whoever and when it's my turn I'll return the favor.

Don't hesitate to ask us, we'll share a character with you.  Exposure is the only way to get better.  EDIT: Oops, missed that Ash mentioned character sharing in page one.

Going to head over for a few today.

I was talking to 4leaf and Ash the other day-- we never factored in the youku, tudou and other sites alike that re-upload our vids.  Then there's the embedded YouTube clips on forums that (as far as I know) doesn't increase the hits.  When you think about it, we actually get a lot more exposure than we think we do.  If you then factor in the AI direct feeds are actually us playing, then the number does get pretty up there (the first XII direct feed vid reached 250K hits).  We also noticed, and it might just be a coincidence, after uploading a bunch of casuals, tons of vids popped up in a week showcasing their talent. It's really flattering, but it's not a popularity contest, we just want to know that our efforts aren't in vain; anything to move the community forward. =)

There isn't any right answer to this debate...

I never got to hit up training mode when I was in L.A. last week so I never really went for any hyper drive combos but I can say that I was the ONLY person in the house on Friday to beat Mr. KOF (Even if it was only once) :D .  I went for BnBs and the occasional simple DC (ex. Ryo DP -> DC -> Ranbu).  At the end of the match my Terry had 4 stocks and a full HD bar but the way I finished it was an outside-of-combo EX Bustah Wolf so you just never know what will actually get the W.  At the end of the day there will never be a strategy that is all-encompassing and covers every single situation so HD combos are practical, DC combos are practical, EVERYTHING is practical because it all goes towards conditioning and even a seemingly lame strategy can come out of left field and trip out great players.

I don't mean to burst your bubble but he was messing around trying get enough meter to try stuff. I think I must've saw him do like 5 uppercut whiffs on purpose to build his gauge.

To add to that, you weren't the only one who beat him that day, I among other people did as well (you were just watching some other game with Trevor).  Otherwise, he'd have a 40+ streak if he only lost once then.

I'm too for the there's-no-right-answer train.  Different strategies, different opponents, different characters, too many variables.

Like Ash said before, Chin does real good damage with just a drive cancel and so I don't usually save up to HD.  Shen on the other hand has good combos all around: tons of non cancel combos, several good ones that do 50%+ dmg with one cancel and one stock but to spend any more than 1 cancel for Shen is almost always a waste --> Save for hyperdrive.  He simply does too much damage even if he doesn't have much stock but full HD.

To top it off, you can BC bypass by performing his Ex Command Grab with hcb~f+ABC which setups up a bunch of combos.

In contrast, Maxima isn't really a HD kinda person, I rather use two 50%+ one cancel two stock combo coz they're relatively easy to land.

It just depends.

Nice vids.  Their style of play is definitely different from ours.  Overall I think the Chin in the smoai vids is slightly better but this one is a beast too.

It seems like it's returned to it's pre-XII glory but I can't quite figure out if it's the reduced range (Thanks to the Ex command throws--grr), or the XII system, but occasionally you do whiff when you don't think you should.  You definitely don't have the WTF moments where you did in XII--I'm contradicting myself am I?

Forgot to mention a random note:  Kyo's blocked qcf+K is not safe against grapplers, after the second hit just do a command throw immediately.  Tested it with Raiden and Clark mainly.  I don't know which strength kick he used but I assume both are not safe against grapplers.

I don't go there for long on weekdays, usually two hours tops. Saw AntiK Dash there and we had some good games then Mr Kof showed up and we recorded some of his Robert in training mode. Haven't seen you, Bao or Brian there for a couple of days.

ya at full life with 5 drinks if he eats a combo he is gonna get murdered... but in reality by the time he gets 5 drinks in... either him or his opponent is gonna be low on health... with the person low on health being at an advantage of the drink system... random hit > 1 meter 60-70% comebacks...

Don't forget you still need some cancel gauge and 3 drinks, but I agree with you overall. Low life Chin = drink away your sorrow.

He let him drink 5 times, that's 1.33 damage increase (although the wiki says 1.5 increase), it was Iori's fault.  I was taking notes on some of his setups and his block strings, nice.

Its fast and Chin's style of gameplay seems to score a lot of knockdowns so it shouldn't be too hard having a few drinks here and there on a regular basis imo. Should piss off your opponent too.

The regulars at AI catch on pretty quick, so they're weary of me sneaking a drink in all the time but after j.CDs, and qcb+As there's still time.  Shame about the overlaps of qcb+P and rdp+P

Wow, at around 14:40, Fully drunken Chin completly MAULS Iori. That's like, what, 70% life combo off EX Counter? SO dangerous!
Rather enjoyed that vid; it's nice to see people who don't look completly robotic in the way they fight...

Holy snap, that was crazy. Heh guess that right there is Chin's shinanigan, that was a simple but hard hitting 90% combo.

Watching those matches was like slow mo compared to the 17 vids posted earlier.

with clark its possible (with ralph 2) to do 2 b-f+P? moves. when they do 1 they usually finish it with air throw. but when they do 2 they dont. is the air throw possible after 2?

 Doesn't seem like it. You can, however, do jump D after the second set.

I'm going to gamble that it's some typo somewhere, I went thru Ralf's BBS in Japanese and didn't see it written anywhere, but I could be wrong.

Played some more with Clark, he's improved a lot from XII thanks to the return of his Gatling attack. Comboing his Vulcan punch into his SAB is also a neat twist.  df.A is a great hit confirm after s.C for his UAB (DM) and his d.B chains into df.A as well.  EDIT: I meant his s.B chains into his df.A.

His air throw still has juggle anywhere properties.  I suppose it always should, but you can still do j.C/D  air-to-air, near corner --> air throw.

His MaxCancel does some juicy damage.

All in all he feels like Clark again.

Need to edit the instruction on how to team edit on the XIII cab. It said "press start and any button". It should also mention something about practice mode being the only option outside of vs. for team edit but "team edit/practice mode" is fine.

I'll fix my erroneous ways next time I goto AI (in an hour).  Heh
