Speaking of Garou... I wonder if this KOFXIII update or the next KOF will provide the players with an option to switch game mechanics like they could in 98... "Extra" or "Advanced"... something along those lines.

Thats a dream that should come true. It's one of the best things in 98um. As Desmond stated it would bring a deeper gameplay mechanics.

I dont really follow any streams mainly because of the time difference. Lately I've been busy with my KoF group, trying to find ways to level up our gameplay and I am busy with life also. I would really like to watch Reynald's streams as he is my favorite player (him and Mr.KoF; I relate to reynald gameplay-wise) but as I said the time difference is huge.

Thanks for the contribution guys. As for me I tend to play rushdown characters mostly. I pick my characters based on their personality and looks mostly but if I liked a characters gameplay even though I didnt like his personality and looks I tend to pick him/her. The character that I liked and he didnt feel suitable to me was Iori both of his variations; I have no Idea why to tell you the truth. He just didnt feel natural to me. Some characters when I pick them they just click with me, unfortunately Iori isn't one of them.

How do you pick your characters in the game? what are your standards? Did you pick a character which you like but he/she doesn't suit you (it happened to me and I HATE IT!).

Anyone figured out how to cancel DP into qcf? Damn DM keeps getting in my way!

There are plenty of ways to do this.

If you do the dp motion (f, d, df) and do qcf (without hitting forward between the df of the dp and the d of the qcf), you'll do it clean. If you let go of the stick and return to neutral, the stick registers forward which will shortcut to qcfx2 if you tried to do the qcf in that combo.

You could do hcb,f+P dp shortcut and qcf. This is easier for people who can do that motion. If you can't do the motion, you can always do 360+P into qcf. It's sloppy, but you don't have to do the full 360, it's just so you go all the way to the back button.

The last one is for people who are pretty fast with button presses. You can do f, qcf+A~C. Basically, f,qcf+A~C can be both a fireball and dp motion at the same time. If you press A and slide input (tap C almost immediately after A), it'll do the combo. This works the same way as in HD mode, but the window is much bigger in HD mode.

Thanks. I am using the hcb,f+p for the cancel and the slide in is pretty strict not like Saiki's slide in so I guess I will stick with the hcb,f+p.

Rewriting the netcode isn't an easy task and tweaking it wont do anything, they have to build it from the beginning in order for it to be good.

Releasing the game on PC would solve a lot of their problems. They can rewrite the netcode again on it and the DLC policies that companies face with Sony and Microsoft are not present on PC (lets say Steam). The problem is that the Japanese still didnt transcend to the PC market.

I am not optimistic about SNK revealing anything in TGS maybe a pachinko game thats it but still I have my finger crossed.

Can't offer much in the way of critiques other than there were a couple of dropped combos. Not trying to be a dick but it looked like you were still getting the handle on Hwa. I tend to play footsies with Hwa and try to get them in the corner and Drunk Mode+ D Dragon Tail corner rape. Sometimes in casuals I just do random D SRK in Drunk Mode on wakeup or if I think they're going to throw out a fireball just to gauge what they're going to do.

i'm excited that p4a is joinin kof at TRB! i feel like this may help increase the numbers for that tournament.

how are you all faring in your own communities? anything you guys are trying differently to get sessions going?

Me and my friends are trying to start a community here. Hopefully tomorrow is our starting point. Wish us luck! Our skill level is not the same at the moment so what were trying to do is learn the game and level up for the moment. Hopefully I'll upload some of our gameplay when I get the chance.

Would anybody have a problem if SNKP made their fighter 2.5d's or experimented with other methods thats not sprite?



I for one would mind!!!!!! 2d sprites are much better than 2.5d boxes and cell shaded crap. KoF XIII sprites are the best sprites IMO since they were in XII. The reason I bought XII is the sprites.

NO STRIKERS ALSO PLEASE!!!!

If you delay the last qcb.D a little you should get all 3 hits iirc. I think this is defenitly staple material. After practicing it for a bit i actually find it easier then his corner d~u.B DC qcb.D loops hehe since you do everything at a pretty slow pace. I might be able to cap it tomorrow along with some other stuff if people want a video reference.

EDIT: http://youtu.be/0M1286i3swE vid. You might be right, mabey you can only get 2 hits on the last qcbD. Didnt have time to test different timings when i capped. But im pretty sure i got 880 from cl.D so it should be possible ^^

THANKS BOPPER!!! that video helped me a lot. Guys dont get intimidated by this HD combo it's fairly easy and works everywhere with great damage.
