Inside MAX mode
-Activation MAX mode: 1 stock
-There are no DM
-MAX DM (SDM): 1 stock
-Climax: 3 stocks
-EX moves unlimited at no cost.


Climax during MAX mode is 2 bars, EX DM is 1 and regular DM is the rest of the MAX mode.
The MAX gauge itself counts as bar while the gauge is still active, eg: if you have 0 bar when MAX mode is active and about to run out, you can still do a DM at the end eventhough you have no more bars coz you used the bar you activated MAX mode with.

EX moves aren't "free", each one shaves 1/4 of your MAX bar so you can get around 3 or 4 moves max, if you activate off a normal the gauge starts at half point so you have maybe 2 EX moves or so.

I've only tried the karathing with Joe and Ralf, with Joe it does add range but its not very noticable. With Ralf he takes a stupid leap forward adding even more range to his insane CD reach o.O

Its kinda obvious but it makes the CDs a tad slower, some frametraps i had with the CDs can get poked out for if I kara them, theyre useful in the neutral game though.


so kara-cancelling moves that move you forward :P That reminds me, I was thinking about trying to implement double-tapping. Does anyone here use it for kof? Might be useful for lights, but I can't think of much else

Juicebox double-taps everything, i remember he said its very useful for chains that need to be done quickly (reg Kyo's c.B c.B c.A). Its also useful for characters with Mash moves like Joe, Ralf, Clark etc.

Juicebox's combos should be the optimal ones. Thats what he usually does.

as for safejumps, the one cydvis posted and hop foward j.A after a throw are the only 2 i know of.

Use Kim's EX flashkick (3 frame reversal) or Kyo's EX dp (4 frames) to test out safejumps.
Also were you holding the EX orochinagi for a bit? coz its only 2 frames if you hold it for a few frames otherwise its like 9 frames or so.

So if you use the A dive u can do get a TK'd a dive after that and then land a fireball into whatever?
Thats pretty much my same HD combo aside from the TK'd dives lol. I'll try it out tomorrow.

so umm.. is there any use for EX slide punch (b~ f+ AC) and EX rapidpunch (mash AC)?
Are they at all invincible? or fast? or.. something lol.
Seems theyre just there just because they had to add an EX version for the moves -_-

Wtf? They made the character sprites just to troll us for fuckin trading cards? -_-

I really hope its a hint for something later on in the future coz this is plain cruel. Showing me Shion, Adelheid, Geese and Botan in glorious XIII sprites form then taking it away is just too cruel :'<

Damn man, even if the combos sucked (they didnt, i'm saying "if"), this still would be my favorite CMV ever just for the sick editing and music.
Some of these combos were insane too, I lost count on the TK'd Raijinkens in the Beni combos ~.~ and the K' combos were full of swag.

Overall, good stuff Blaze. Was a little confused at first, thought you meant 2min and 19sec. Once I found your match, good work with Ralf and Vice.

Love how you were almost out-grabbing LordBBH's Clark with Vice.

Your Ralf is one of the most solid ones I've seen. For EX Kyo, or either Kyo probably, I'd suggest more of Ralf's normals to keep him at bay, and maybe more j.C instead of j.D to counter in the air.

Your King feels like the weakest, but I think it's just a little lack of strategy there. Definitely tighten up your combos with her (like cr.B, cr.A, df.D, qcf+K), and don't be afraid to be aggressive. After a while spamming Venom Strikes is just going to be evasion practice for your opponent; there are more spamming King players than non, so take advantage of the non. And I haven't tried this match-up yet, but if you're up against Clark, and you have meter with King, bait his strong command grab and EX Trap Shoot. Try it in practice though, not on a whim at a tourney.

Thanks for the reply (and the Ralf comments).
Idk if was obvious through my gameplay but I fuckin hate Clark, he's so mindless that it makes me rage even if I'm winning when Im fighting him. Thats why I try to always stay fullscreen away (or at least max distance possible).
King is definitely my weak link, which is why I'm trying to pick up Shen, but as you can see he's worse than my King XD.
Usually my King is not that sloppy, i was just mad coz i had to fight like 4 Clarks in the tourney and imo thats a really bad MU for King so I played pretty badly.
the EX trapshot trick sounds neat but no one here uses the strong grab, its mostly the gay armor one or the EX lol. I'll keep it in mind though =P

for Ralf vs EX Kyo, i dont like throwing out limbs in this matchup coz usually the guardpoint would beat it and I'll eat a rekka to the face. I usually only sweep or hop against him.

Game's fun so far. Absolutely despise SCV Ivy but I'm like SCV Tira and Viola/ZWEI are interesting. Online is fuckin godlike so that helps too.

Being on the defensive sucks ass though, especially if u haz no meter and/or your GI moves suck.. also alot of the moves in general seem super linear. Sidewalking makes most of the game's move easily whiff. Like with Tira if you're stepping I have literally 2 moves that can hit you and everything else will miss, 2! -__-

still a fun game though, will give it more time before deciding if I'll keep playing it or throw it to the side like its an MK game.

Quick question, is it not possible to do an immediate roll on wake-up?
I've had a few situations where the opponent would do a meaty and I'd try to roll as soon as i get up but nothing comes out and I eat the meaty, just wanna know if the game just doesnt let u roll for a few frames when u get up or was it just me messing up the timing/input.

what about hop happy Kyo/Iori? that jumping d+C is ripping me apart lately, especially that it crosses up in a very funky way. same with iori and his j.C/j.b+B.

Idk how to get people hopping all day off of me with Ralf it seems, his jab goes fuckin nowhere and hammer is usually too slow, I've had some success with the C explosion but thats just preemptive stuff u cant do it on reaction or anything like that.
