Uh, yeah, 20 years of gaming history to look at makes it really easy to know when something's generic or not.

Now for actual KOFXIII business, I'm wondering how Kensou's buffs will treat him in the overall scheme of things within the game.

The funny thing is, right before we went to Evo we were asking ourselves, "what can they add to Kensou to make people want to play him."  I remember specifically replying, "give him back his unblockable throw".  Well it's a DM and not a special, but same thing.  He's going to be more used now, that's for damn sure.

Well I am considering him as my point in my ???/King/Hwa Jai team.

It's either him, Duo Lon, or Shen.  Only reason Shen's really on my list is the fact that I'm terrible with Rekka characters...

I think they should make a trailer that out right bashes Capcom. Something along the lines of:

If you're sick of easy mode, Ultra's, and X-Factor-induced retarded Comeback Mechanics.

If you want to play a game with characters fans actually want (Insert Rocket Raccoon pic).

If you want a game that takes actual skill.

If you want a game that has good netcode (hopefully).

And if you want a game that will make you instant friends with all of the Mexicans in town.

Then look no further...

(Splash of hype gameplay moments, music, etc).

That's all well and good (though the Mexican comment might be pushing it obviously, what about the Koreans, are they not good enough for you?) but bashing other companies and series doesn't tend to work as well as you might think.

I mean, NRS tried to call out Capcom on their netcode...and then they proceeded to release an even worse one.

As much as it can hype your game, if you mess up it can backfire and make you even more hated than the company you tried to throw under the bus.  Being the bigger company and letting your game speak for itself does volumes more than just going out and talking shit.

Besides...do you really want this to degenerate into what that stupid BF3/MW3 bullshit has become?  Let's keep this crap classy if at all possible (very unlikely considering gamers have a short fuse and can't go a second without talking crap about something else to hide their insecurities).

It's 12 Characters, but it doesn't really matter.

SNKP and Atlus isn't going to run a smear campaign ala EA to get people to come over to their game.  And it will be really hard to straight up win an advertisement campaign when it's not that popular of a series outside of a few areas while UMvC3 can garner attention on name and flashiness alone.

In the General Market it has nothing over UMvC3, not even price, and to straight casuals the month is loaded with a lot of heavy hitting non-FG's to deal with (including the generic FPS that shall not be named).

Now as for the FG community, XIII obviously has the KOF community and those looking to enter the series with this game or are people now on the Capcom hate train and need a vehicle in order to really fuel their rants.  It had a really solid chance of gaining steam with those wanting something to play before UMvC3's release (and the possibility those may just prefer it instead rather than wait it out).  But as of now, people would have to choose either to spend $90 on both, or to decide between one or the other and outside of disaster, those on the fence at that point will probably choose UMvC3 which doesn't bode well for XIII's sales.

Now I believe the change won't affect sales TOO much (most of the people that it will lose are only those that were probably going to use XIII as a go between until UMvC3), but every lost sale can indeed be annoying to a game series trying to desperately regain it's place.

Are you serious?  You're gonna cancel your preorder because they decided to hold off for one month to deliver a superior product?  Would you prefer they release it earlier, have something be crappy and wait on patches constantly?

Them releasing the game later is more of a detriment to SNKP than it is to us as a player base.  Those who want the game get a better product, SNKP and Atlus get less sales due to when they're releasing the game.  If they chose to move it back, I'm gonna assume it was for a damn good reason, especially considering how much is riding on the success on this game.

Also...hey, at least we GOT a new release date.  Most developers and publishers who delay games don't give us a solid release date (Looks at Valve...why do they hurt me so?).

If it for some reason gets delayed again, then we can all duck into the storm shelters.  But it seems trivial unless there's another game you really want to buy in November.

Playmore hasn't released any quality products only some decent ones.The only reason it got delayed is because playmore surely wanted to rush it like they did with XII (just look at that how fucked up that beta was - i think the final product was something like that) but Atlus knows that a fucked up game can damage their image so they said clean this mess or fuck off (no one delays a game for spectator mode when they can patch it later in the game).I will get the game used for like 20-30 $ because i will not support those idiots at playmore.My opinion and option.I preordered this over batman arkham city but playmore didn t want my moneys.another 2 months = i already preordered batman Arkham city, bf3, mw3 ...maybe umvc 3 (yes i said it  ) and some other shits and care less for XIII which might be a total mess when it comes to netcode.

Buying it at all, even used, still shows support.  You don't want to show support?  Man up and don't get the game at all.  Getting it at any point shows you think the game is still worth your purchase.  Don't get it, play your Fatal Fury and AoF games to death and pretend that SNK was actually much different than SNKP (news flash, as much as people tend to think so, it actually ISN'T much differen't, in terms of quality control).

I just find it funny that you find no problem with UMvC3 being the second of rushed games, yet have a problem with a game kept from being released halfassed.  I don't have a problem with UMvC3 mind you (not since I got my head out of my ass at least), but it's just funny that you slam KOFXIII for possible crappy netcode when the MvC3 series has already proven to have terrible netcode of its own right.

Now, I don't hold out a LOT of hope for XIII's netcode, but I would assume they will go all out considering how dire their situation actually is.  Capcom never has to because they can honestly half ass all the games they want and still get a ton of buys by name alone (and I don't blame them, if I'm a company and I can get as many buys as possible with minimal work I'd be all over that too).

But you're right, it is your decision, and I have no right to criticize it.  As long as you know what you're doing, it's whatever.

Though, it isn't surprising the more irrational people in the world would do this. It is a sad thing, but we can only hope the finished product is worth the wait.

Meh, well the people could indeed be worse.  They could be entrenched in the war that is Generic FPS vs. Generic FPS that is going on right now.

I don't mind the wait for KOFXIII...it'll give me more time to Gamefly the hell out of games I've missed or practice up on other FGs to be ready for NEC.  I'm just worried at MOST about lack of practice time, because I'll have a grand total of two weeks to learn three characters I've admittedly never touched, and I still don't know who my third character (who will be my point) will be...

Not only was the game delayed...it was put to release at November 22nd?  Do they realize how loaded that month is for releases?  I mean, the only good news on that front is that they seemed to pick the one week in November that's relatively weak compared to the rest of the month but even then...I don't know.  Whatever the delay is for is apparently big enough to warrant a delay...but not enough to keep the game on the shelf until a safer month?

And what does this do to the game's Status at NEC?  Now the console version of the game will be out for only a grand total of 2 weeks prior to NEC.

There better be a really good reason for this delay, which I would believe there is, and it's only a slight delay, but it's risky to go for it in November.

Except I didn't do jackshit to defend Capcom.  Do I agree with anything they're doing?  Hell no.  I personally think SFxT is a waste of time and that the MvC3 series is the absolute biggest disappointment I've ever experienced in my natural born life.  But I give EVERY game a fair shot.  Whether Capcom is failing now or not is irrelevant, ANY company can fail over and over again and then randomly pull out a gem.  As a gamer for entertainment or not, it should be on you to look past any hate towards the company and decide whether a game they release is worth it or not.

The point was, yes Capcom and MANY publishers and companies are horrible (in fact, I can't think of a single one that isn't), and honestly the Gaming Industry as a whole is pretty much going completely awful compared to what it was 5-10 years ago, to where companies feel it's necessary to intentionally withhold parts of a game from us to gain profit (though if I'm a company, I'd do the exact same thing, make the money where I could get it), but there are times where good games do come from shitty companies.

I apologize for the way I responded, I had no reason to.  As such, I'll do the right thing and leave immediately, all it's proven is that there's no place for a hothead like me to come and behave as such.

Instead of focusing on the good of each game, you're too busy going "ARGH, CRAPCOM IS SO HORRIBLE".  Too many damn players only give a crap about dumping on other companies or games rather than just focusing on what they like and it turns into a complete shitstorm of a place.

Going complete anti-company is such a pathetic line to take it almost makes me sick and it completely hurts actual DEVELOPMENT of a damn community and yourself as a gamer.

Would it hurt someone to take the goddamn high road for once and just be unbiased against all games?  Nah, nope, Crapcom is so horrible that you can't stand it and you hope it dies the painful death it deserves.

Just realize, EVERY company has to make a great game in a while unless they want zero profits.  Just ask SNKP.
