Well they have those "Sister Quest' games, it's a pachislot with rpg elements. They can always expand them into proper games, like an action Rpg sorta like Kimino Yushaa, I like it. It's high time SNK pops out some original IPs.

But KOF XIV so soon? hmmm....maybe, but will it use the same system as KOF XIII? it'll come under fire from critics. But it's a good system and I think if they can find a way to expand it, it'll be better. But I wanted some new weapon-based fighting games! a new Samurai Spirit or Last Blade, I mean there's no 2D samurai fighting games yet out there for the next-gen. With the proper atmospheric musics, classic slow but deadly gameplay plus some Overkill fatalities, I think a new Sam-Sho will be a better option compared to cultivating a reputation of churning KOFs all the time.

Point is: I'm not too terribly excited over KOF XIV compared to other SNK games they could've been working on.

Meet & Greet / Been here before, but gone for a long time. Now back again

It occured to me that I haven't make a proper introduction. Here goes: HI! I'm from Indonesia, but currently studying in the Philippines. My KOF XIII is just gathering dust here for the past year because my X360 is back home ^^ but I got friends here, and at least they let me play a match or two.

Oh, and I'm a budding artist...please be gentle with me. With that said, anyone here from Indo?

Not True, I like Alpha Mission II. And stop acting like such a tough guy

also the arranged sountracks are a must imo

Fuck-ing TRUE! if there's anything SNK is superior at it's music, just listen to that new Neo Geo Tune! That music should be played everytime somebody google "awesome"

I think they should sell all these titles in one or two packs.

I'd really rather have the convenience of picking a few select titles for more rather than getting them in packs, plus SNK can't have statistics on which games people actually picks up that way.

Yep, played an X and no problem whatsoever...(I'm about a continent away from him, I'm in SE Asia, he's in Middle East) never a host, played 4 matches...2 a bit laggy out of 2 good ones. Not a dramatic improvement tho, but it's there. They should really remove ANY indication of connection status because, seriously...it's kinda surreal how it is so inaccurate. But hey, you know what's the good news?

SNKP is actually listening, this is a good sign. Now would be a good time to start telling them that the netcode could be even better.

Ive been playing almost exclusively with Chris, Kensou, and Leona. anything i might not know about them? I'm thinking about picking up Shingo. I played a lil with him last night hes kinda cool. (u all see the trend in my team lol)

Leona: V-Slasher beats anything midair, ANYTHING. Remember this and exploit it well ^_^

my dude played with Terry and I swear he combod like three special moves into each other.  Do different special moves have the ability to be canceled into complete different special moves? I know with Orochi Chris I can cancel the end of his command grab with any of his other specials.

Nearly every char have this sort of move, Terry can combo after his round wave (qcf-C), plus it's his supercancellable move. Back in SVC Chaos he can round wave (qcf-C), then crackshoot (qcb-b) then any move, even super. This is not applicable to 2k2 UM tho.

Wait so people are actually actively complaining about the netcoding? I must be a unique individual or something because ever since the second day the game has been out, I have had essentially no lag even when playing people in Japan or Mexico. In other words, 95% of my matches run perfectly smooth and I am able to do whatever combos or inputs I want. All I do is play people less than 200. They can have 180 and I don't care. Honestly, I could understand complaining about 98's netcoding or XII's netcoding, but is there seriously anything wrong with the netcoding in this game?

I agree, it isn't bad per se. It's just odd, I've had flawless (as in able to dish out MAX bypass) game with someone in Pakistan from my location is SE Asia...then I played against my buddy just an island away from me: horrible lagfest. This also kinda confirms the lag experienced by people in Japan, while in China I've heard it's just fine.

The delay itself is a give-away that 2k2UM is problematic. Plus, being released ahead of schedule in the end with bad netcode. Regardless, the netcode is sucky even in Japan according to MMcafe. I have a feeling this is an xbla port that was never meant to be. Plus, SNKP's indifferent respond is also very telling-"we have read all your comments..." that's pretty much it. They're not even trying to say that they'll work on the netcode just to shut us up.

Weird...but if I know SNKP, they'll come up with something totally unpredictable again.

General Discussion / Re: Review

I have to give in man...KOFXIII is good, better than good. In the simplest form of word: Awesome. But I don't think it have what it takes to be the best KOF yet (by a very small margin though), It can still be even BETTER. I'll just sit here and wait and see. Man, KOF 98 is a huge shoe to fill.

and yes, we do need a bit more variety.

About the bugs, infinites, etc etc/

I think they should at least work on it....see what can be done. If a bug or infinite is better off left where it is, then sure (but infinites--very unlikely). Too bad very few of us are willing to compromise like this, everything is absolute nowadays.

42
I did color some, but I have a soft spot for black and white and simplicity. The fact that I'm also "artistically" color blind doesn't help ^^

43
Man, winning just for the sake of winning by abusing bugs is lame. All of these fights are just a battle against oneself, theoretically if you can act fast, move (the stick) fast, respond fast (or just fast enough) and make no mistake, you'll win all the time. But then winning is nothing if you or your opponents aren't having fun, this is the whole point of a game really. So take it easy man, or at least play it fair.

I guess so, but at first I thought it will be just me posting here (since there's no art thread here.......right?) all those are AMAZING! I'm bad at giving insightful art comment, so I can't say more except for that and the fact that Mudman is awesome. I'm waiting for more people to put up their stuff. Don't be shy people, put your SNK fanart sh*t up here!!! no matter how bad it is! whatever it is! (not too f*cked up though, people won't like that but I personally don't judge people)

P.S: I'm a fan of putting boobs on everything hahaha.
