Sounds good, thanks Desmond.

One thing I noticed yesterday was the initial Sans-Culotte hit damage. It says 100 on this wiki and the SRK one, but I'm pretty sure it's 75. It fits the damage formula deeper into combos (75 x 0.95 = 71 as hit #2, 75 x 0.9 = 67 as hit #3). It also seems to have a minimum of 30 (40%), as if you do it as hit #14 (where it would normally be 75 x 0.35), it still does 30 damage.

Finding from yesterday:
- Floreal Backward (b+D) is 40 damage on console versus 50 on arcade.

And with the quote above, I thought it was 75 but now I'm not sure. In the arcade it did 60 as a first hit and a minimum of 30, but that first hit could've been a base of 100 with the 60% SC multiplier. So on console the hit of Sans-Culotte is either 75 or 150 with the console 50% SC multiplier.

As u asked about the damage, 403 is an good amount of damage for the super, but in corner, u can go for almost 500 of damage. Try the loop, always canceling the last Nivose with back+D, and after the last repetitions go for C Ventose, b+D, dash a little, b+D and D Nivose. Take an look at this video:
Its the outdated arcade version, but u still can pull these ash combos. With will help u seing the time of the b+B or D cancels on the SC loop.

Keep in mind though that Sans-Culotte scaling is now 50% versus 60%, so 400 is actually pretty high for that loop. I did a calculation on that video loop and if I did the math right that same loop now does 436 damage. Still really solid damage for 2 meters and starting from a cr.B, b+B.

It's hard to keep track of all the options available, so I've actually had a little spreadsheet to help figure out damage you can get in Sans-Culotte. Might be a bit picky, but we oughta grind as much damage out as possible, right?  :)

What's the easiest Sans-Culotte loop you guys know that works anywhere on the screen? I really suck at this.

Yeah, I'm curious to see what other people's uses for this are, especially at midscreen.

Right now for corner I'm using:
D Nivose, b+D, D Germinal Caprice, b+D (whiff), [D Germinal Caprice, b+D, D Germinal Caprice, b+D (whiff)] x 3 (or maybe 4, don't remember), C Ventose, B Nivose
OR
[D Nivose, b+D, D Germinal Caprice, b+B (whiff), C Ventose] x 3, B/D Nivose

IIRC both of these also the first one does more damage than the crazy Trial #8 loop.

Midscreen feels so finicky, after the launch I'll get about flush a character length from the opponent, then I'll use [b+D, D Germinal Caprice with extra b+D whiff close to the corner] x n for corner carry. I can't get people to reverse direction as I want though - might have to try that B Nivose, b+D, D Germinal Caprice loop for that.

EDIT: Actually on that note, what's a good way to go from Sans-Culotte to HD? In the corner I'm getting more consistent with HD to Sans or Sans to Sans but not Sans to HD.

EDIT2: Gahh so finicky at midscreen

That guard crush potential is real scary. Quick question, are using normal Moon Slashers -> Grand Sabers in that combo pretty frame tight? I imagine some instant / 1-frame moves could stop it but I may want to save some bar against people who don't have a reliable means to punish it.

Hey there Darshawn, great crew of KoF players you got up in Cleveland. Good games in casuals, and good job getting 2nd at CC. See you guys for more as long as we can make it!

I think the Sans-Culotte information could be a little better organized. I did some digging back through the old Arcade threads and understand where the combos came from, but since the DM is really dependent on spacing and screen position, we may want to organize this based on its use at midscreen and the corner, and also some tips based on its use mid-combo or as an anti-air.

Also, is the wiki up for general editing? I've helped with some music game-related wikis and would like to contribute on some of the more basic stuff like stun values and combo damage where I can.

So I was messing around with Ash in the corner and found out you can quickly input  ;c ;a ;b  ;bk, roughly pianoing the inputs, and you can get s.C to b+B. Also, if you hit-confirm the s.C, you can quickly input ;c ;d before the b+B comes out to get Sans-Culotte.

Not sure how useful this is as an option-select, since the s.C needs to hit pretty close to the opponent, and you get pushed back some for Sans-Culotte so you need to start with something like d~u+B before doing the loop, but thought I'd share that finding.

Anyway, starting to get the Sans-Culotte corner loop consistently down - I'm still pretty green with him but the loops and HD potential are fun to pull off and watch. Regardless of where he ends up in the tier list, he's real fun to play.

Probably something like

(jump attack) cl.D/C, df.D, HD, cl.D/C, df.D, hcb D(2 hit), (HDC) qcf A+C, (run up a little), [dp B, (HDC) hcb B]x3, hcb D, qcf qcf A+C

If you do cl.C instead of cl.D you'll get 10 more damage. 805 with the jump in attack

To add to this, ideally you want the opponent at the wall by the time you do the qcf+BD, otherwise you'll get pushed too far away to run up and follow with the dp+B. Works up to around the center of the stage.

I think you get a little more damage too if you omit the first df.D? I don't remember for sure.

Finally getting down the Moon Slasher -> Grand Sabre cancels down consistently - at least in the corner ([d~u+C, b~f+D] x 5). It helped me to aim for up-back to up-forward during the Grand Sabre portions, that way I could hit either up-forward or forward and get it to work, instead of hitting down-forward on accident and making the loop fail.

Mienaikage, I caught your other video for full kill combos off 4 bars from virtually full screen - awesome stuff, will have to practice that next. I saw one portion where you were doing EX MS -> GS -> MS -> GS all from HD cancels - any special commands for that? I figured EX GS gave you enough time to get a charge for MS without a cancel but I didn't think you'd have enough time for the d~u charge after a regular GS.

im not sure u can neomax cancel an EX v-slasher in combo. by my experience it doesnt bypass the HD (example if u do c.B f.B ex v-slasher pressing abc u dont bypass the HD and cant neomax cancel)  it must be just a ex v-slasher so i think just as a punishemnt of normals or fireballs or anything who keeps the other close to the ground.dunno if instant overhead is an exception didnt try it
hope im wrong cause this would be huge ! just think being close to the other doing a c.B buffering  ;dn ;df ;fd and then instant overhead into a ex v-slasher ABC and neomax

Hm, ok. I didn't try it off of the cr.B - I'll check the jump-ins again. I might've just been doing the j.A/j.D with HD already activated or something.

For a stupid but blissfully simple punish combo into NeoMAX, you can bypass Mu Shiki to do stuff like:

close C, f+B xx qcf,qcf+B+C xx NeoMAX
close C, df+D (2 hits) xx qcf,qcf+B+C xx NeoMAX

Guaranteed 700 damage minimum for full Drive, 3 bars, 4 inputs and almost no conscious thought (beyond something appropriate to the situation, like "whiff whiff big whiff PUNISH"). Very worthwhile for choke artists like me IMO, who need stuff that's impossible to fuck up in the clutch.

Is there any trick to the (qcf+C, hcb+C, qcf+A) HD loop besides "do it fast"? I have about a 50% failure rate on getting the 2nd qcf+A rekka instead of a fresh qcf+C, so right now I just do the old retarded 2k2 loop of [qcf+C, qcf+A] into whatever. Doesn't seem too bad; I can get up to 783 for 3 bars now under ideal circumstances.

Ooh, great find. I love having a combo that I can just do for the guaranteed damage and final KO, so that's really great.

Seems like there's a lot of potential behind using HD bypass in various special move combo starters AND supers. I did something like that with Leona - wonder what some of my other characters can get from this.

That's a pretty good tactic Ryujin, somehow I didn't even think about it after all this time, haha. It also doesn't even scale at all, so it does comparable damage to complicated HD combos. Thanks for the discovery! Should be added to her list of potential combos on the Wiki.

Hmmm, I haven't tried it myself, but Maybe she can also Instant Over Head with Neutral Jump D into EX DM into Neomax? Hmmmm...

Leona's so great in this game. Even when she's not on my team, I have other characters colored to look like her, so I don't miss her TOO much... XD

Hey thanks, I can't take full credit for that though - the idea was already in the wiki, I just thought "hey what if I could activate the HD at the same time?!? whoaaaaa"

And yeah, I think you could do this off of either the j.A or j.D as well. IIRC j.A gets you about the same damage as blank EX-V-Slasher to Neomax, j.D to the same does around 820.

Got some time to play EX Kyo last night. Really enjoying the trial combo HD loop of starter -> BC -> cl.C, f+B, qcf+C, [qcf+A, qcf+C, hcb+C] x 3, Mu Shiki / qcf.D+D, Orochinagi. ALL THOSE REKKAS. I don't know if that's the optimal HD loop, but I'll gladly take ~560-620 for a 1 meter HD combo until people find better damage. Looking forward to see what develops in the coming weeks.

And wow, just saw some of the videos. EX R.E.D. Kick is faaaaaaast.
