i know right. without even having played the game people already flock to k, raiden and kula (& lizzy) just from vids. i mean why try a character you like instead, when you could be winning with characters that suck?

You're making the assumption that people who don't play KOF will flock to those characters "SF players"  They'll give up soon enough when they realize that the strings and timing are a lot more strict and require a lot more movement and planning.  If they do learn it however bravo and you gotta give them credit for that at least.  But most SF players will want Kyo or Iori "due to branding from past games"

There needs to be some "KOFXIII themed" Hori and Madcatz sticks (and pads) for sale and promo before, during and after EVO... Think of how that helped out SF4...

Madkatz pads break too easily.  They need to fix em.  Plus I'd like to see them bring the neo geo themed usb controllers to PS3.

To be fair with the overprice, unlike all those collections games that everybody is mentioning, this games will had online compatibility

Even though online cmpatibility and SNK are like mixing cat with dogs :D

Btw shiranaui_ninja, there's an SNK section in this board, you better search a little before posting ; )

This forum could separate threads and move them to other sections? to keep this thread on track

And mussolini, relax bro, if you don't like those games, don't buy them, you sound like SNKP raped you, the games will come out with time, and honestly, I don't care for arranged music, as long as the online is fine, good for me

SNK took his online cherry with KOF XII.  It scarred him so badly that he no longer has faith in Eikichi of SNKP

you know they could always add these more obscure games in the collections. you said it yourself, obscure. you think more than 5 people would be buying this shit otherwise? no, but in a collection people would still be able to try it out at least. personally i think this is the stupidest shit snkp has done the least few months. i thought they finally wised up and finally grew some brains and did what ive been saying for years, that is releasing the collections on psn/live. but no, they just fucked it up. its a good thing its jpn only, cause they would sell shit anywhere else. snkp is really sucking sad, if only they had somebody in snkp that knew how the fuck a business is handled.

Coming to AMURICA too brother!

To be fair, this is Japan only anyway. Japan's game prices are typically higher.

Example: the KOF Orochi Saga was released on PSP in the US for $20, and in Japan for 5100 yen ($55).

Also, I see nothing wrong with selling games individually. It could make it easier for a newcomer to buy a game they've heard good things about, without having to track down a collection that costs more. Also, it allows them to release more obscure games that wouldn't really "fit" in a regular collection.

You forgot that the Japanese version is also MORE FAITHFUL to the American Versions with far better emulation.  But yes the price premium does suck and the only things I'd get from that list are Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown and Magician Lord.  Since they're adding online for the PS3, does this mean trophies too?  There's tons of trophy hoes out there and exposing them to good games would be pretty boss too.

i dont mind ash as much as i do lizzy, and vice and mat will probably be gone next kof.

What's so bad about Liz? lol

*Spoilers*

Anyway, if you looked at Iori's ending Vice and Mature's souls are going back into the great beyond. So I doubt they'll be appearing in the next KOF.

As for Ash, well, he not only died but......any trace of him ever existing is gone. So....yeah.

Though these characters might appear as console extras in the next KOF game.

I personally would like a female lead for the next game but that's neither here nor there.

That was just a horrible translation.  What really happens is Mature says FEELING GOOD?  Then hugs herself and then she gets another human body while Vice uses her special arm ability to transform into a stretch woman.  They'll be back.  You think SNKP would draw those sprites just to kick em off next game?  Another new evil will come and Vice and Mature will come back to aid Iori or Kyo or probably go to the past and make an Ash a like.

How come there's no noise from UFO About the KOF 13 cab?  Since you're near or go there appearing from your last post, can you give us some info on the goings ons over there?

Japan has what we call Super Internet.  They have like 50-100 MBPS and it only costs like 40-50 a month.  However it's a lot cheaper to connect that tiny island then it is the US.  Hell even California is like double to quadruple the size of Japan and look at our stagnant internet.

From wikipedia:

Total area of Japan: 145,925 sq mi
Total area of California: 163,696 sq mi

California's certainly bigger, but it's no where near double the size of Japan, let alone quadruple. Size is hardly the only issue here.

In other news, did you guys see the 1st place price winner for that South Cali tourney this week? Man, I hope someone who actually knows how to play KOF well goes away with that prize!

Yeah, it sounds like an awesome tournament. How many AI folks are going?

Whoops my bad.  I was quoting the Ignition speech essentially when they were talking to SNKP to fix their interass netcode.  They told them that California alone was bigger then their country, especially in actual land mass as a lot of Japan is there but with huge water spaces and whatnot and the president of SNKP was in actual shock at how big America was when he first told them the netcode for KOF 12 was FINE.

Let's not kid ourselves(no pun intended), but both systems have their shares of idiots yelling on the mics. That's why God created the mute feature!

True.  It's just that ten times more idiots get the 360.  The PS3 at least had a price barrier like the Neo geo in its earlier days so it kept it away from the hand of screaming kids.  I remember a time when the patrons of the PS3 were in their mid to late 20s.  Good times....

Exatly how far away are they from each other when it comes to these online tournaments though? I'm not trying to say their internet is crap or whatever, but it's from my own experience that you actually get less lag depending on how far away the opponent is.

Good because they have the fastest internet in the world: http://gizmodo.com/5390014/internet-speeds-and-costs-around-the-world-shown-visually

I can't tell you how far apart the players are specifically, since I don't know where they live inside of Japan, but taking a look at the matches and what is taking place in terms of execution, I would say that lag is a non issue for them.

I knew Japan and Korea were ahead but didn't know to what extent; that's just disgusting, I'm jealous.

PS3, I refuse to pay to play online, haha

I have a ps3 myself, and I'm planning on getting a 360 soon because PSN is trash compared to XBL. Just because something is free doesnt make it better.

No it isn't.  I have a PS3, and play a lot on the 360 and the service barring a few things is essentially the same.  Actually the online is smoother on PS3 most of the time due to dedicated servers for most games.  That and I don't have ten year olds yelling crap in my ear.

You're one of those people?  The one that drops older games once the newer ones come out because of new timings or styles?  That's only legit if you use Kensou as he changes EVERY game.  Probably Robert I guess since they like to rotate him a lot too.

Nah man, it totally messes me up.  When I started XIII I kept doing j.D, s.C, CD with everyone and messed me up hard.  It took me forever to adapt to XIII lol (I'm old man, hehe, I can't adapt as fast as I could when I was 14 when '94 first came out--do the math).

Getting real OT but Gunsmith and I were talking about how much slower we are lol, he was complaining his thumbs don't move as fast too.  Ash said the same thing too.

Don't call yourself old.  I'm only four years younger then you.  That's depressing me.  But the offset of slightly losing your reflexes is that you gain more strategical ability.  How else do you think people like me are able to beat scrub teams online with Mature, Daimon and Clark/Chin/Leona/Terry?

HIEN SHINPAKKU!  Is one of my favorite moves.  It's always a free hit for Daimon.  Ground Pound LOL.

Mature also has some nice normals jumping b counters most jump attacks thanks to its angle.

I don't think I've ever played you online and since you're in Arcade Infinity, the games would be smooth.  Up for a few rounds of 12 Kane?

Getting it on the PS3.  Don't care much for owning another Xbox.  That and I'm cheap as hell.  The thought of paying online makes me laugh.
