Is there some kind of good recovery from a bad normal jump attack? I always ended up getting thrown before I can punish when the opponent is about to land.

Sorry for the late response been pretty busy this month. Are you talking about if you do an early jump attack and hit them? or just a normal jump attack whiffing before landing? It really depends. If the opponent lands before you then he will have the advantage since you are still recovering from the jump and land. If you both are landing at the same time then you have a few options. You can try backdashing as soon as you land, reversal with a good priority special/super (risky though), you can try going for a tech if think a throw is coming. Best thing I think would be doing an option select throw + motion store. So lets say if you are Terry and you both are landing. You can do 623, tap 1 then hold it while pressing B+D right as you land. What will happen here is if they do nothing you get a down + B then you can follow up with another down + B+D into kick super. If they go for a throw you will tech because you inputed B+D together which counts as both inputs. D will let you tech throws as well not just C. If they lets say they do a reversal super then you have 2 options from it: you will JD the first hit then you can GC into dp + B/D if you just press B/D. You can also just press B/D to get a reversal B/D then break (A+B) if you think they might just block. So you get a few options just from doing the motion store input technique.

I hope that answers your question. If not just let me know your exact situation and I can give you a better break down of options to go for. Also the same tecnique applies to all the characters but you have to make sure the special you want to motion store has good priority first.

Terry Bogard / Re: Terry Bogard

im having trouble with trial 9 or 10, the one that looks like the combo mr kof did for arcade 100% vid where the burning knuckles change sides. whats the trick to the combo to make the hard crackshoot hit like its supposed to? cancel 1st rising tackle as late as possible and cancel the C burning knuckle as late as possible? what about the second one? anybody here land that combo consistently to help me out?

You want to make sure that the opponent is as low as you can hit them during the rising tackle, burn knuckle cancels. The qcb + D has to hit the dummy as late as you can hit him so it can juggle after. It's pretty simple.

General Discussion / Re: Netcode Lag/Delay Test Reports

GGs to Sabin from yesterdays matches. Giby was here with me and we tested the online. We had a 2 bad connection Coast to Coat (CA to NY). There was delay for sure. The delay reminded me of the old school Kailelra server days. I did feel at times that the connection got smoother for me and Giby but that was probably because we were adjusting to the delay. It was hard to react to certain things though but combos were still possible. Still the online isn't the greatest but it's a lot better than XII that's for sure. Aslo Sabin's Fios helped out a lot. If it was anyone else with normal net it would have been unplayable I'm sure. Here's a recording of us playing since he was streaming it:

I wish I could get Fios but my area doesn't have it yet. I only got Time Warner for now.

I still haven't tried online but I plan on doing a bunch of test on both versions once I get the PS3 version from Atlus. I wanted to thank Arturo for giving his opinion on the netcode. If you don't mind testing it with me Arturo on either 360/PS3 just let me know. I'm in Cali but I don't have Fios yet. I do have good net though as long as my family isn't playing while I play. I'm also farmiliar with all the good and bad netcodes out there. I'm not expecting it to be a perfect connection from CA to NY. I'm pretty sure there will be some sort of delay.

Edit: I'm going to be off this Friday so I plan on doing a bunch of test that day with different people from around the US/Japan.

Post all your lag/delay tests here for online matches. Also make sure to specify which system you are playing on, distance from the person you were playing and internet connection speeds (how many bars). I'll be posting my impressions soon once I get my copies for both systems.

If you're game for testing out a JPN connection, let me know. The latest I should get the game is by the 4th of next month.

Sure thing.

I plan on doing a bunch of online test with different people to see if there is any huge difference. That's for both 360 and PS3 since I have both systems. I'll probably be waiting like most people until it's released.

Offline Matchmaking / Re: SoCal KoF

I'm sure they wont mind running events at FFA. It's just that people just need to show up is all. Since me and Giby live close to FFA we can probably help run events if needed.

No Abe is right about Terry. He didn't really get much of an upgrade compared to the other characters. Yea his new chain is nice. The neomax did get fixed but we probably wont see it used much in actual matches. Outside of that he hasn't really changed from his arcade version. Would have been nice if they gave him a power dunk or something extra. I'm still going to use him thouh since I like his style and combos.

As for tiers it's probably too early to tell. Would need to give the game a few months before most of everything has been found by most of the players. I'm just hoping if the console version does well enough that SNK will make an arcade update/patch. Also only a few days left till the actual release. So I'll see most of you guys online.

I tried War of Immortals and it's pretty much the same as Battle of Immortals. It has a few more classes compared to BoI. Still fun though.

I just recently started playing again with my friend Pigg. Really fun game. They actually made a good parry system is both high reward but also risky to use.

Well if we register early for KOFXIII only in mind it's only $40 total. Not too bad. I'm planning on registering early. Besides most of all the players will be there I'm sure. It's going to be fun.
