With your method, should they block the crossup butt, will an immediate cancel to phoenix arrow hit as a crossup also?

yes, you have to input it as if you on the other side.

I tried it a couple times in matches a few weeks back, they were able to walk foward out of it.  So you're supposed to walk foward a bit before hopping?

I don't walk foward at all.  I just immediately hop and delay the j.f.B so that it's a crossup.



might be the delay that is causing it. the way i do it is pretty meaty, so it's already active when they wake up.

After either C or D throw, can the opponent walk out of short hop crossup j.f.B?

they shouldn't be able to, is that what's happening to you?
that mean's you're moving too far forward. you just have to move a pixel to make it a cross up

I agree she def is in that Category of "tough to use but good points" but I think she shines in the 2nd position. Not as an anchor. If she's out of meter in the 3rd slot, the hill is super steep.

How do you guys handle button setups/controllers with 1 character team battles? Just always pause at the start of a match, or do you require everyone to use the same button setup and controllers?


i've been a part of one, we paused right at the start because some of us played different layouts. if u have teammates who have the same layout no need to then.

gonna goto wentinel's house this friday to teach him some kof =D. gonna try to snatch more marvel players

I wanted to see what characters people would totally want if there is another iteration of kofxiii but with more characters.

but let's just not leave it at picking characters. let's categorize/theorize!

category 1: characters that would fit the system really well!
- think of the characters you'd like who would make sense with the drive cancel/hd combo system
- theoretical combos they could have
- possible ex moves

category 2: character's you'd just want to be in there cuz they're dope
- possible changes needed to make them fit?

all mine would probably be for category 2 because i'm not familiar enough with character's moves from previous kofs:

came up with some CH CD combos with Liz (sorry if these may have been mentioned) (also i think all the wiki's should include CH CD combos).

corner CH st.CD > qcf+A > dp+A > (DC) qcf+AC > qcf+Cx2 > dp+Ax2 > j.C

corner CH j.CD > qcf+C > dp+A > (DC) qcf+AC > qcf+Cx2 > dp+Ax2 > j.C

the first one is relatively safe on block, nigh impossible to punish.

I dislike Vice. She's basically jCD into EX grab all day. And until I find a solid counter to that shit Clark I will continue to call her gimmicky ;) .

i think she needs to be in the front now, MAYBE 2nd, never 3rd.

the amount of meter the opponent may have for a punish is severe at 2nd/3rd character slots. and if they guess right once it could just mean death.

with her in the front, it's like the idea of takuma in the front, you earn your right for major damage (build up the hd bar for fattier combos). plus with the opponent having little meter she won't be punished for a bad read, so you can go nuts with her.

also i think her bff is vice right after, or anyone that doesn't need hd meter.

yes i got it now! all you had to say was triangle motion! Leona is so fun now that i can do that  :)

only problem is i drop the hd combo near the end as the opponent rises too far in the air. Either that or i'm dropping it, but not realizing it.

you can just wait a little bit after the grand sabers to keep them from getting up too high

was messing around with CH CD combos in the corner

this was my favorite one

CH st.CD > D grand saber > TK C Xcalibur > C moonslasher > (DC) EX grand saber > run slash super (500+ dmg, 2 bars 1 drive)

My favorite moment of Evo was sitting their in a row of marvel players, with one specifically good marvel player watching in awe when Bala was playing against MADKof in the grand finals and he turn to me and says "Why the hell do I not play this game?!" the interest is their, we just need to keep pushing this game as best we can within our own communities.

nice! if you find anyone remotely interested, keep talking to them and help them get into the game.

and good stuff shark, keep up the good work =D

I want to learn leona, but i've never used a charge character in my life and i can't do her charge hd combos. =(

first you have to realize you may need to make an extra effort to move the stick quicker (not super comfortably), since you need to gain charge asap (uf~db). after you just need to figure out the rhythm to do the triangle motion (db~ub+P~uf+K~db repeat)

but if the moves aren't coming out, you may be doing the motions faster than you should be.
