I'm waiting for European version announce. Depending on the cover art and the goodies I would pick up Japanese version if it has english text (I'm not sure about).

So, we got close enough to how power bars work, didn't we?
For what I understand now is like this

Outside MAX mode
-DM: 1 stock
-MAX DM (SDM):  2 stocks
-Climax: 3 stocks
-No EX moves

Inside MAX mode
-Activation MAX mode: 1 stock
-There are no DM
-MAX DM (SDM): 1 stock
-Climax: 3 stocks
-EX moves unlimited at no cost.

I guess that, since MAX activation costs 1, if they do EXDM to cost 2 and Climax 3, then you couldn't Climax Cancel from an EXDM in MAX mode. So they made EXDM costs 1 in MAX mode (because you already paid 1 for MAX). And since EXDM costs 1, DM should cost 0.. otherwise it could be 1 + 1 stock for MAX activation (2), and that would be unffair. So they removed regular DM in MAX mode.

Well, I guess DM > EXDM > Climax can't be done. Only:

DM > EXDM
DM > Climax
EXDM > Climax.

I really want to know now if it's true that in MAX mode you'll always do EXDM (SDM, DMMAX, or whatever is called. Strong version of regular DM).

I'm still trying to understand bar costs.


In this gif we can see Mai, who was already in MAX Mode, super canceling her Hisatsu into her DM MAX, only by wasting 1 bar. So do this mean DMs and Climax are cheaper in MAX mode? This way DM > DMMAX > Climax combo can be done only in MAX mode. 1 for MAx mode, 1 for DM, 1 for DMMAX, 2 Climax = 5 bars. Outside MAX Mode it would be 1 bar for DM, 2 bars for DMMAX, 3 bars for Climax = 6 bars, which is impossible. Am I right?

@Shiranui_ninja: Good news for you, me, and anyone else interested in playing Mai. I saw someone playing Mai and they did her target combo, better yet (if my eyes weren't playing tricks on me) they canceled it to special. If you choose to watch for it it's during top 8, I don't remember the name of the Mai player, but he was fighting Kyabetsu and did Mai's target a few times during the matchs.
YASS! I saw it. I'm glad she has her XIII target combo. Then she went into her Hisastu and canceled in the air into her DMMAX against Vice. It was pretty nice ^^

Nice video. Looks like Mai's boob animation from 13 is making a comeback.
XIII boobs physics were better done than XIV 3D physics. They need to improve it a lot because it looks weird right now.

In my case, tournament starts at 3 AM  :(

That would be awesome.

Yes, I see MAX mode as something very similar to Cammy's V-Trigger, for instance. The difference is that Cammy can't do normal Spiral Arrow when V-Trigger is activate it. In KOF XIV MAX mode you can choose between EX or regular.

@shiranui_Ninja: I can imagine forcing the opponent to block (doesnt have to be in the corner) and mixing an ex in will make the opponent block that too, allowing time for you to try and run up, go for low, go for grab, or for jump cross up with knees all while the ex is coming is coming back down after it was blocked. Great mixup tool in my opinion.
Yes. As pressure tool can work fine but now EX only can be done in MAX mode and one usually activates MAX mode when you see the chance to do an extend combo, just like Terry does. So i guess in that case you don't use EX Kachousen if you are not in the corner.

At least is not one of those crazy endless HD combos of XIII. I don't know very well Terry's normals but I guess is something like that:
s.A>s.C>MAX activation>s.B>C+D (wall splat)>Crack Shot EX>DM>SDM

Looks like if you "move" your rival from where first hit of EX Kachousen hitted him/her, with an Hisatsu for instance like in the stream, second hit of the Kachousen doesn't hit because enemy is no longer where it was.. So i guess EX Kachousen only works for combos if it's a corner combo. Also, I guess if rival is not in the corner and dashes or rolls back after EX Kachousen first hit, he/she avoids second hit, since is not combo.

Did you saw the stream? They basically give a look to all command lists and show some Climax and stuff but I think they didn't played seriously (I'm not sure because I didn't see it all).
I saw Mai's Climax. Is nice, but I missed fire and final explosion. And looks like when Mai is defeated by a Climax she says again "Andyyy..!"   :(  Oh, well..

The stream is at youtube. At minute 40:00 they start to play more seriously.
There's a very nice MAX mode combo with Terry at 43:37

Playstation channel published Nakoruru and Shun'ei trailer as 13th KOF XIV Teaser Trailer.


But it's odd to have some bios of characters that never have been announced like Joe, Goro and Mature. And in website says AOF Team is next to have bios. So, maybe we'll have  Team trailer from now on as @Custle says, or maybe will have a new Teaser trailer with Goro, Mature, Joe and Yuri.

I checked now. She does 2 hits with normal Ryuenbu after CD wall splat. So I guess is just like in XIII. one hit A version, 2 hits C version. I wonder why orochinagi only used her A version when they test ryuenbu in the showcase video. I was really scared xDD

I just saw Mai's Ryuenbu only does ONE HIT ??? I hope it's because he uses A version all the time...


About Rush combo. Can you continue by your own after Ax3? Maybe I have 3 bars but I want to finish rush combo with Musasabi, or even with Mai's air throw, and do not waist a power bar... Can I do that?
