General Fighting Game Discussion / Re: The Tekken Tag 2 Thread

So how has the online been for everyone so far?  I've played a few games including a person in Taiwan and it was pretty solid.  Was playing in player matches, I got owned pretty badly. Wouldn't mind trying to play some games with some of you if you're on PS3.

I'm on a 60GB still so this takes up about 13% of that lol.  I've got about 14GB open still once I saw the size.  I think I'll upgrade the HDD here shortly though.

I pre-ordered this from Gamestop, got an interesting call from Anna Williams saying my pre order will be ready tomorrow.  Was good for a laugh, I'd imagine some people have some explaining to do lol.

For me it's touch and go really.  There are times when the connection is good no matter what it says.  As I got better at the game though I really started to feel it though.  For casual play or teaching it's okay generally though.  If I had a strong connection I'd be on that game all the time.

I still play it, just not online for a few reasons.  One my connection isn't good so it messes up my offline play.  When I get a good connection the players are just bad.

My team will most likely have Nina in it, I'm think JC Lili maybe a Mishima.  I won't know until I get my hands on it tomorrow.  I picked up the strategy guide today, it's very well written.  It's easy to find the frame data and the character overviews are great.  It has so much info for beginning, intermediate and, advanced players.  At least I have nothing to do tomorrow, the install will take forever though :(

T5/DR was very good imo.  I don't know what it was with T6 but I couldn't never get into it.  While this game looks to use the same engine as T6, fundamentally it is a very different game.  I think a lot of people are excited for the game but like myself they are not hype for it.

Picking it up first chance I get on Tuesday since I finally pre-ordered it a few weeks back.  I'm excited for the game and I can't wait to get my hands on it.  But I wouldn't call my interest hype though. I will put a lot of time in it though, it looks better than Tekken 6 by far.

I've been playing through the Persona series before picking this up.  From what I can tell 1 takes place in 1999 or 2000.  3 takes place in 2009 and 2010, haven't gotten to 4 yet.  I really want to pick up P4A up right now but I really want to play P4 before getting it.  I was going to wait for Golden, but I can't wait to play P4 and P4A that long.  After playing P3 I have a good idea of who I'll use in P4A at least.

To expand on the point made by a few of you.  When MadKoF lost a match, he wasn't switching his team up, he stuck with it through the entire grand finals.  But once Bala started switching it up, he lost it.  Not only did he have no momentum he conditioned his mind into a losing mentality.  You could see it on his face, even when he took that one match after the reset it was just barely that he did that.  Bala is a great player, I think if they were to fight again shortly Bala would do better.

I think it's a problem that some high level players have at times.  They know how to play so much of the cast, when they come up against something like the Duo they say I can counter this.  When staying the course is usually the better choice.  Still that was one of the best if not the best series of games I've seen played in any game.

Takuma Sakazaki / Re: The s.C, F+B, db~f+K Thread

Juicebox Able made it really clear to me on one of his streams the other day.
The input for  ;c ;fd ;b can be done very very fast.  From what he showed me, and what I've been doing the past couple says, I'm starting the charge before  ;c is out.  As long as the timing on the end is right, you'll get it everytime.  It's very simple in all reality once you see what is going on.

The jump in has helped my timing with it quite a bit as well, I don't know why though.  This really opens up so much damage with minimal meter for Takuma.

I've had a bad week online with this game.  I've spent a lot of time in the lab, and playing offline with friends.  I step online and can't do anything because of my connection now.  And when I had a good connection I kept running into scrubs.  The game is still fun at least, hopefully some of the people I've been able to play against online will be online soon.  I just hate that I can't apply what I do offline to online play.  Can't wait to move and get somewhere that has some decent internet.

Sadly I've only encountered one Brad player so far who felt like he was trying.  The rest I've faced were nothing more than PPPP spam with the duck and weave stuff he has.  All I can say is go to virtuafighter.com  you'll find some tips there for sure.

Watch for the pokes Jinx mentioned.  Most are really safe even on block.  For me against Eileen's Pai's and that jerk Lion, I play highly defensive.  Once you do something unsafe I go for my punishing moves.  Of the Sarah's I've faced, same with Jacky, that flip kick seems to be the noob special.

Flip kick Jacky's are easy to beat.  PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP Spam Brad's are easier.

11K for Sarah?  I haven't seen that in her move list, am I missing something?  I know he 1K launches, do you mean that move?

I think this game is well worth $15, I got the $30 deal with all the DLC.  The game is so much fun, and the netcode is really good.  I wish KOF had it's netcode, but KoF is still a lot of fun.
