Is the region setting in your online profile forcibly tied to your PSN account region? My main PSN account is Japanese, my region is reported as Japanese in my in-game online profile and there's seemingly no way to change it.

Its graphics don't bother me as well, when I say "subpar" I'm just trying to be unbiased. No matter how outdated these character models may look, I clearly feel Ogura's flair in them, which is great for me because he's my favorite SNK artist (he's born the same day and month as me by the way LOL).

(Wasn't there another thread on this matter?)

SNK's resources are ridiculously low, that's it. There's no way anyone can demand or hope for better graphics than those SNK came up with for KOFXIV. Maybe things will get better in their next games, after this team gets more experienced with 3D modeling.

Good thing KOFXIV is selling relatively well, I was afraid all the anti-KOFXIV campaign based on its subpar graphics may make the game bomb miserably.

The amount of CG in KOFXIV caught me off guard, I was ready to bet the only CG movies in the game were gonna be Antonov's opening ceremony and the "wounded Shun'ei" scene we saw a still of in that Famitsu article. IMO, CG scenes look better than those seen in the Fatal Fury/KOF pachi things, I wonder who made them...I suspect they were outsourced to some really good 3D artists.

I'm so happy with the demo roster because I had my heart set on a Kyo/Shun'ei/Iori team as soon as I saw Shun in the April 25th trailers, but even better than that, Training mode is included in the demo. Can't wait to hit the lab for countless hours before August 23rd. Before the demo roster was announced, I thought "okay, we'll have the PlayStation Experience roster plus Terry or Mai", but SNK surprised me showing that they wanna push the newcomers as soon as possible, and I like it.

Ah, my KOFXIV team is all but tentative. After seeing some of all the stuff streamed on Twitch, I fully realized there will be countless characters competing to replace Kim in my main team, and this is gonna be the first time I build up a whole sub team or two instead of just randomly replacing Kim with one of the many characters I like.

Also, Garou coming as a PS4/Vita port with online and crossbuy is fantastic.

I'm really happy with the new movelists, too bad Geese doesn't have Deadly Rave as his Climax, but I like his super Reppuken.

I love Gang-Il's moveset already: his Hangetsuzan is aerial only, which is a nice change, and the amount of stuff he can do after Hakikyaku sounds awesome. Maybe it's the character I'm looking forward to the most to see at EVO (don't remember if there was any word on a stream but I certainly hope someone streams KOFXIV)

There are tons of moves I'm curious about, but I'd rather keep this post short :D I'll post comments here and there when we see these characters in action.

I didn't expect a Nightmare Geese trailer at all. Now that SNK has zombiefied him, he's even more nightmarish than ever before. Great DLC costume. The new music track is a very good take on the iconic Geese theme IMO, I like it.

@shinefist: I'm afraid there are no hints at an online beta right now and there wouldn't be enough time to host one -the SFV beta program started months before release-, but I'd be very happy if us players got an opportunity to test the netcode.
About the demo, since SNK deleted the tweet about the demo shortly after posting it, it may either be that SNK was simply writing the digital preorder tweet and made a mistake, or (it's a theory of mine and I know it's crazy, but I still wouldn't rule it out) they purposely published that tweet too early to raise some interest in the demo, and will post it again when the demo is actually available. My bet is that we'll get a GGXrd Rev style demo, so lots of characters but no online mode, and it'll be only for those who preorder(ed) a digital copy.

@micky Kusanagi: first 5 seconds is your best shot at mature's climax for now lol
I know I know :D I just meant I can't wait to see the intro to the move as well :P

I wonder what the Sylvie screen is about...a taunt or a second winpose? (I'm assuming it's in-game stuff, but you never know) Either way, I like it, she's one of my favorite newcomers -I love characters you can't take seriously in action stories/games- and her habit of using a bullhorn is one of the traits I like the most about her.

I don't wanna get my hopes too high but at the same time I can't help but thinking SNK is serious about DLC costumes. I'd really like to see classic outfits for those characters who were given a new one, although I'm fine with the new outfits.

Good job SNK on making me literally die to play KOFXIV. Too bad Mature's Climax wasn't shown, maybe SNK is waiting for the KOF Station episode featuring her to show it fully?

Right now, I'm 99.9% happy with how the game turned out, 0.1% being that characters seem to have just one winpose besides the "match won" pose -except Benimaru and maybe Shun'ei, I'm sure I spotted the beginning of Benimaru's "Thank You!!" pose in some stream and I think I saw Shun'ei starting a different pose than the "demon hands" once-, but it's just me nitpicking. I'm sure I'll have tons of fun with this title.

I like how they changed the 2P VS icon from "Team Fatal Fury VS. Team K'" to Team FF VS. Team South Town, a nice touch.

I like how Zarina is dancing samba in her stance. I know a proper capoeira stance would look more appealing to a lot of people, but this fits her character better IMO.

Congrats Custle on your purchase!! Good to know you're all set to buy and play KOF14.

Promotions for this game are literally making me go to the lab and test characters I had barely (or never) used in previous KOFs. Ramon is one of them, I spent a lot of time in 2000 training mode -I wanted to begin with his first incarnation- using only him yesterday and I had so much fun, I'll be happy to test him properly in XIV as well.
Angel has People's Elbow as a SDM instead of her Climax, but still, it looks impactful enough to me now that I can see the full move, so I won't complain anymore. Her Climax takes her flirty persona to a whole new level, I had such a good laugh out of it xD
KoD? We've already seen so much of him, but seeing him in his team trailer is good for sure. So much armor :D I've read complaints about him being unbearably slow, I hope SNK fixed this before submitting KOF14 to the ESRB (well, there's still the day one patch) because you can definitely tell they had a lot of fun designing his moves, it'd be so sad if he didn't come across players as a fun character to use against human opponents.

Mai in DoA5LR is something great, I can't wait to see how her fighting style will get adapted to a 3D fighter. Nippon Ichi!! Looking forward to the KOF costumes too ^^ I'm really happy about this collaboration. I wonder who wanted it first, SNK or Team Ninja?

Seeing a 48 character build being demoed is some great stuff, I'm glad such devkits are already around.

I don't know how many times I've watched this trailer -it happens to me with every trailer actually xD
I agree that their theme could be inspired/remixed from Terry's MOTW theme, the beginning sounds so alike it, and I love it because Terry's theme is my favorite MOTW track.

Joe looks more fun to use than ever before to me. I've never used him much, but things could change in KOFXIV. I'm curious about his double high kick too...it's everything but a special, since it gets canceled into a special the first time Joe uses it in the trailer. I love that Tiger Kick is diagonal again. Now I wanna see his Climax move, the trailer stops just at the end of his Climax intro LOL

Only one thing disappointed me: no references to his sudden beating from the Geese&Ryo teaser :(

As for rush combos, could they damage KOFXIV's reputation? In other words, did Persona 4 Ultimate/Ultimax get a bad reputation because of them? I know nothing about their reception within the FGC in terms of competition value.

That sick Mai trick and some wicked Kim stuff I saw from Stunfest -ground bounce EX Hou'ou Hiten Kyaku just to name one- convinced me not to complain anymore about them not having any new command or special compared to XIII. Sure those techniques are locked behind meter usage, but I like them enough I can stop complaining.

A couple surprises in the 36 chara build: I was expecting to see all the 36 characters revealed in teasers and/or team gameplay videos till now, so seeing Hein and Yuri instead of Geese and Mature caught my attention. Will Yuri have different EX moves and/or a different Climax compared to XIII? We'll see in a couple days. As for Hein, I can't wait to see his fighting style. Will he prove to be worth of being Geese's butler or whatever he is? I hope he does. Of course I'd love to see moves not shown in the previous videos for the already revealed characters.

Man is this snddev2 getting annoying. His account is back, nothing had been deleted. The bloodstained sidewalk in KOFXIV looked interesting to me, too bad it's very likely fake like anything else in that Twitter.

The Stunfest streams are a goldmine, too bad for the utter lack of character variety even though I know it happens all the time. I wanted to see more Tungs and Changs, Tung is one of my favorite characters ever and some of Chang's normals look quite peculiar, so I'd like to take a good look at them.

What's with the newest screen? Another part of Angel's Climax or a free camera used in a normal game situation? I know all the screens so far are supposed to show how actual gameplay is supposed to look like, but hey, there always could be an exception.

This screen is full of, well, content xD
I don't remember if it has already been said, but I think this is one of the two faces in the Neo Esaka stage art -the one I thought it could be Kyo with a different hairstyle...

That KOF X Garou Densetsu game is a goldmine of wonderful art. Maybe the other face in the stage comes from there as well?

I managed to free up 123 of 320 GB in my laptop's disk, so I'd like to ask a somewhat technical question: how many GB should I give to a Windows 7 partition in my laptop to make both SOs work decently?

My laptop is a MacBook Pro 13" early 2011 -2.3 Ghz Core i5, 4GB RAM, Intel Graphics 3000 HD, I was crazy enough to update it up to Yosemite.

I know I sound too optimistic maybe, but after reading the minimum requirements for 98UMFE and 2002UM I thought my laptop should run them well and I'll be able to practice "modern" KOFs online...hoping I can buy a Windows PC soon and play KOFXIIISE too.
