Which one was KOF06?  I know that name was a localization, but can't recall the original title.

I think I might just scrap combos altogether and just get the basics down so good that combos are only damage boosters. Cause despite doing relatively well in MVC, SF, and BB, this KOF is on another level when it comes to execution.
Assuming you're not talking about MvC2, SF2, or SFA, those games all have more generous input reading than KOF (although XIII's is pretty loose).

does kof even have an equivalent to one frame links?
Yes.  Off the top of my head, I think Mary's ...f+A, (b)~f+B in 98, Iori's cl.B, cl.C... in 2002 (felt easier in 98 but not completely sure if so), and Jhun's (A)D guardbreak, cl.C... in 2002UM are 1-frame timings.

slap the condom on ( dead serious and i've yet to figure out what he actually is saying)
I hear that, too *laughs* .  Also, the Genei Jin activation sounds like "Awww, Heineken".  And the character select music says "I got the bitches".

Billy's dp+K sounds like "superior" on the way down.
Benimaru's old winpose where he poses and says "thank you" always sounds like "spank you" to me.

Yeah, I don't think karathrowing really works in KOF because of the throw invincibility window after blocking (plus you're giving your opponent a free ticket to alternate guard).

Welcome to DC :)

Quick question: What character can I use to practice combos and Drive Cancels?
I ask because it's been difficult for me to do them, even during the tutorial.
Whoever you want.  Some characters have weirder/harder combos than others, but ultimately, you're best off picking characters you want to play and grinding it out with them until you get used to playing.

All situational and personal preference.  If you can win a round, do it, ideally with minimal resources spent (e.g. only using a drive cancel combo to finish off an opponent at like 35% health).  If not, choose for yourself whether it's worth blowing your resources to more damage now vs doing a weaker combo into knockdown to set up more pressure.  Also depends on your current situation as well (like, suppose I was playing that team in that exact order, and my Terry is down around 15% health remaining against a pretty fresh 2nd character, I'd just try to die as slowly and annoyingly as possible to pass the meter on to Kim unless I somehow manage to wear down the opponent's character enough to hit confirm into a fatal combo).

So, yeah, long way of saying against that it's up to your playstyle and the situation.

Well at least you can tell they are zombie colors. I admit they look a bit off but that's because I made them on a different tv. It also doesn't help that the color editor is ass. For instance, most characters skin and hair colors are directly related. You will be seeing much better color edits from me in XIII.
It wasn't so much that they looked off as just that I'm personally not a fan of zombie clown colors *laughs* .  And yeah, I remember a lot of characters having really strangely linked colors in the old KOF color editors (like Iori's hair and pants).

will definitely be more clean in XIII than 2002um, dont worry omega, lol
I'll hold you to that *laughs*

And damn, y'all blew up your group pretty quickly!  Anyway, I'm sure there's more this thread can be used for than some old dude cheering for people still playing offline, so I'll try to cut back on the interruptions.  Wish I could try to join in on one of your meets on my way to Mexico for business, but I'm going through Houston and only staying in Texas for a day, so no chance.
