Yesterday was fun. I had real crap luck with who I had to face in KOF. Seriously, one of them was nearly as good as DG the other I almost got one match but he was too good. I'm pleased with how well I was playing though, got several real combos to happen (not my usual BS halfway done ones), and I beat out a Clark on command grabs with my Maxima (which was damned satisfying). SCV I just plain botched. If only I had the time to practice it as much as KOF.

All in all it was a great day.

@Jet: I'm up for saturday.

Edit: Here are the tournament results http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads%2Fucc-results-texas-bar-fights-round-8-dallas-tx-april-21-2012.159123%2F

I'd like to point out that KOF had the most entries out of the non-capcom games. Can I get a round of "Hell Yeah!" for that? Also, the guy the got second in KOF was the first guy I had to face. I got the worst luck, but at the same time it's encouraging because I'm feeling like I'm getting closer to being able to compete with people like that.

So just cleared it with the roommates. I'll host Saturday at 3pm. Who can bring setups? I'll have my 3 as usual.

Also, Friday Ronin is gonna come by around 3pm for some games. I don't think most people are available then but, y'all are welcome if you want to grind some KOF with he and I.

Man, why did I seriously not know about the kof gatherings in dallas? You guys need to get on to the DFW facebook (if you all have it). Most of us meet on there to set up gatherings and such. Also, I am helping to open up a venue to play at and am definitely going to be looking for ways to bolster the community. Anyways, good too see there are more players than I thought!

That is the DFW fighting game group. We often organize gatherings and such through facebook (really for the most part).

I'm known over on SRK as mikeohara, but I finally made an account here at DC. Long story short, I really want to get better at KOF, but I don't know a lot about the game other than it's got Athena, Mai, and King (oh, and Yuri too).

PureYeti

Hey welcome guys! Jetblacksuit will be hosting for some kof today and tomorrow at 3 pm so pm him for the address.

@Halfro: could have sworn you were at one of our meetups before. In fact I remember you whoopin' the shit out of me. You got the stick without a bottom on it right? I wondered why you never came back, I thought it was because you didn't live in the area. But I guess you didn't realize it was a regular thing.

Anyhow, you should come Saturday. I need some one who's really tough to compete against so I can get better.

This is a pretty good starting point for learning the flow of KOF

What time are you guys playing this saturday? And where, at the same campus? I have been fiending for some kof play. I live in Carrollton so, reasonably close to the school. I typically just go to the gatherings posted in the facebook group and that one time I went it was posted up. You guys should really get in there!

Sent you a pm with time and directions. See you there.

Great meetup yesterday. I expected more people, but it still worked out. Lots of good KOF play going on. Pretty much everybody who's been playing seems to have improved. Seeing a lot more combos out of people.

Shout outs to Blackjack and Demodiz for giving me some really good matches.
Shout outs to Jet for hosting (sorry I didn't get to play you this time buddy. Didn't realize I missed you till after I left).
Shout outs to counter hit combos leading to "MAXIMA DAMAGE!!!" (okay, so I'm not really quoting anyone. sue me)
Shout outs to marvel style color edits.
Shout outs to some great SCV matches with Edge.
Shout outs to every one who puts up with me acting like a complete buffoon.

Can't wait till next meetup. See you guys around.
